Old Wounds Still

It had been many years since Daisuke had last visited the USA. His memories of the time spent in the States during his short stint there were not too pleasant. Not because of the wrestling, he did fairly well there- but because of a relationship that turned rather sour. He dated the now famous Alizeh Mirdori, back when she wasn't talked about as one of the best wrestlers around. It wasn't just a one night stand or a short one either, the two had dated for a good year before things went sour and they mutually decided to call it off. As with any relationship, it had its ups and down. The downs came mostly due to their clashing belief on who was the better wrestler. What started off as playful wrestling, turned competitive soon and from there, a full blown heated rivalry. Often times, the couple forgot they were a couple and continuously bickered when it came to their wrestling talent.

With both wrestlers unable to stand the others claim to being better, their relationship took a back seat and eventually they called it off. Of course, they were much younger back then and perhaps had they been more mature, things would be different. Fast forward to today, Daisuke and Alizeh found themselves in the same organization after all these years. No longer a couple, yet the two stayed away from each others paths to avoid an awkward moment. Perhaps not wanting to revive the lost spark, or just to avoid getting in yet another heated rivalry- whatever the case, both of them stayed out of the others way.

However, today that was going to change...

Daisuke was busy working out in the LAW gym, sitting up on one of the work benches while doing some basic dumbbell exercises to get started on his busy work-out.

Alizeh breathed out softly as she walked through the gymnasium promised to LAW wrestlers with a towel over her shoulders. So far she had just wrapped her aerobic work out and after a brief rest her breathing was back to normal and she was preparing to go into the weights area of the gym to do some lifting. Though as she rested she couldn't help but think back to past experiences, specifically back to when she was seventeen and had a... boy friend you could say. It was a year long fling more than anything and more than filled with problems of various kinds, none the least being that the two of them had spent more time and energy competing and fighting with each other in and out of the ring to really focus on said relationship.

As such rather obviously it didn't work out between them and they broke up with a record of three wins and three losses against each other before going their own way. Of course fate was a twisted mistress and somehow the two had both found themselves in LAW at the same time, granted in different divisions so it was relatively easy to avoid one another. However... fate could be somewhat funny in how things shake out. Because as Alizeh turned a corner into the weight room... low and behold her eyes would come across said ex, Daisuke Takeuchi. "What the fuck." Alizeh blurted out, not quite able to believe that after nearly three years of effortlessly avoiding one another's presence that they had now so easily crossed paths.

It was almost an inevitability that the former couple would someday meet again. The odds of wrestling rivals facing each other in the ring was already high enough but they increase significantly with rivals with bad blood against each other and there was no bigger bad blood than between wrestling couples. It didn't help they were in the same wrestling promotion, if anything, Daisuke was surprised this fateful reunion took longer than it actually did. He noticed Alizeh from a distance but did not say anything, nor did he call her out. He tried his best to avoid the gaze and focus on his work out, until it was the green haired woman who stumbled upon him and muttered those words, out of surprise more than anything.

"Hmph, it's nice to see you too....Liz" he muttered as he would put the weights down on either side of the bench before getting back up to his feet. "Not the first words I had in mind after seeing you after all this time" he said, referring to her slightly surprised reaction of "what the fuck" when seeing him. He could not deny though, Alizeh looked good. She had considerably gotten alot toned and fitter, but then again it had been a long time since the two had met.

He knew about her journey in LAW, about how she was one of the best now- a far cry from her wrestling career when they were dating. Daisuke approached her, leaning into give her cheek a quick kiss. "You look good" he complimented her, before offering his hand for a handshake.

Alizeh had encountered many things over the course of her career in LAW, old and new rivals, crazy people, new loves... But the last thing she wanted to encounter was an old flame. Particularly Daisuke Takeuchi who she had now run into in the gym. He noticed her as well, including her off hand 'what the fuck.' Which was somewhat embarrassing on its own but after fighting down a blush she contemplated just ignoring him and walking away but knowing his ego... Yeah that would juts lead to more problems.

So instead she forced a smile before going back to a more neutral expression towards him after hearing him use a nickname. "Don't call me that Daisuke." Alizeh said in a matter of fact tone before sighing. "....And sorry I just.. wasn't expecting to run into you." Alizeh said with a sigh, watching him wearily as he approached, leaning away as he tried to kiss her cheek. "Thanks. you look... ok yourself." Alizeh would say as she reached forward and did at least accept his hand shake at least.

This meeting had a certain level of inevitability about it. There was no way these two could have avoided meeting each other for this long in a place like LAW. This place was known to create hype from drama and tension, and there was no drama like exploring the life for a former couple. Daisuke did not mind her reaction, he forgave her for being startled by seeing him after all these years. They, undoubtedly, did their best to avoid each other but perhaps this meeting was for the best. They can finally close this chapter, or perhaps, reopen a new one.

She smiled, albeit briefly, before returning to her neutral expression. She was stern in her tone when she told him not to use her nickname, a sign that she was not looking forward to meeting him or let the past be the past. The green haired woman would lean back, not allowing a friendly kiss on the cheek either. She explained her reaction was due to this unexpected meeting, but he already guessed that. His compliment was not returned to its fullest extent either, it was clear Alizeh still held a grudge.

The two shook hands in a awkward moment. "Just okay huh? Heh, alright" he said, gently letting her hand go. "Clearly we still have some issues to sort out. You didn't expect to run into me? Even though we are part of the same wrestling organization?" he said, raising his eyebrow out of curiosity. He would walk a bit closer towards her, gently touching her chin. "No. The truth is, you have been deliberately avoiding me." he said softly.

"Because of our past and how your ego and pride ruined what we had." he said with a serious tone.

Oh this was awkward, so incredibly awkward and Alizeh hated it. Granted Alizeh knew at some point they were likely to run into each other and if nothing else at least it was here in the gym with no one around, but damn if she didn't wish she had some easy excuse she could bring up to leave suddenly or something of that nature to get out of this. So instead here she was looking at that damn charming smile that she knew belied wave wave of ego and smarm.

Pulling away from the hand shake any pre tense of mutual respect would dissipate as Daisuke spoke, saying they still had issues to work out, which was true, but then he accused her of deliberately avoiding him which... not untrue but it wasn't as if Alizeh went to great lengths, and she knew for a fact it was true of him as well. Leaning up as he touched her chin Alizeh's eyes would narrow dangerously at what Daisuke said next.

"Excuse me?" Alizeh asked as she smacked his hand away, a familiar bubbling anger rising up within her. "Firstly I don't go out of my way to avoid you, I've just been lucky to do so so far." Alizeh snapped back first before raising a finger and jabbing into Daisuke's chest.

"Secondly someone who actually calls themselves the "wretsling prince!"- Alizeh said mockingly while raising air quotes around his nickname. "Has no right to lecture about ego! Nor about it ruining anything since we both know I dumped you cause everything had to be about you!" Alizeh snapped aggressively.

It did not take too long for Daisuke and Alizeh to get back to their old ways. They had not been a couple for many years now but it appeared as if things were still a bit sour. Daisuke knew that Alizeh had a bit of a temper, but now that she was one of the best wrestlers around in LAW, it seemed that temper had only gotten a bit shorter. To her defence though, Daisuke's attitude and accusations did not help the cause either. His gentle touch of her chin was thwarted away as Alizeh smacked at his fingers. The green haired woman would be seen visibly in anger, responding to him rather bluntly. She let him know that she never been deliberately avoiding him before jabbing a finger against his chest to let him know what she truly thought of his attitude and ego.

Daisuke rolled his eyes and smacked her finger away in response too. He was never the type of person to shy away from letting his feelings known either, which made their arguments so explosive all the time. "Oh please Alizeh" he said. "Drop the tough girl attitude. We both know you're nothing more than a delicate princess deep down" he mocked. "Yeah, you did dump me but its nothing to do with my ego. Its because you could not handle the fact that I was, am and always will be better than you at wrestling and you can't handle that fact, so that's why you broke up with me" he said, jabbing her chest with his fingers in response.

"Admit it. You couldn't beat me and you couldn't handle being second best in the relationship. That's why you called it off!" Daisuke snapped back as things got a bit heated.

Alizeh was really regretting coming to the gym today given Daisuke was here and now this stupid arguement from ages ago was being renewed. Glaring as her finger was smacked away from Daisuke's chest Alizeh would practically snarling at the man's words, reminded of why she regretted their relationship so much. 'I should just go. Nothing good will come from thi-' Just as Alizeh thought it the idea of leaving immediately was dashed from her brain as she heard what Daisuke said next.

Claiming that he was better as a wretsler than her, that she couldn't handle it and that's why she broke up with him. Yeah no. There was no way in hell Alizeh was leaving after he said that, she absolutely would not let that slide. Not till she set his ass straight. "Bull. Shit." She said first off with a icy cold tone to her voice, not backing down what so ever to the man as she leaned up right into his face.

"I ain't a fucking prissy princess, not unless I WANT to be, not to mention there goes you're ego again cause last I checked our official record is tied two to two! Finally I TRIED to get a fifth match with you multiple times but YOU kept ducking it and part of why I dumped you was cause you refused to give me a shot at that belt you had even though I was the only one remotely qualified to challenge for it! So fuck you you vain, inglorious COWARD!" Alizeh finished her rant with a furious tone underlying her near frigid voice as she then shoved Daisuke away from her.
