L.A.W. - League of Anime Wrestling

Hazel was in her car driving to the gym, the usually calm and collected Scotswoman seemed a bit anxious. Nothing major was happening, just working out with a friend or at least Hazel thought she was a friend. The two had met at an event for a wrestling promotion outside of LAW and exchanged numbers. Hazel wasn't sure what she felt, she generally wasn't one to give her number out easily but there was something about the woman. Her name was Kai, and Hazel wasn't sure how to describe her. Tall, muscular, beautiful, a goddess? Hazel was generally always focused on her matches and her career but even she couldn't deny the fact that she found Kai attractive to say the least, though there was something else she admired, the woman's confidence perhaps?

"Why am I nervous this isn't a date?" Hazel asked herself in her head. "It's not a date, she probably isn't even interested in you like that" Hazel reassured herself though to her own disappointment. The truth was, she had a massive crush even if she wouldn't admit that to herself, besides, she was a wrestler, and she didn't have time... unless Kai conveniently was already in both companies she wrestled for. "Don't be stupid" Hazel told herself as she pulled into the parking lot and parked in front of the building. Grabbing her phone Hazel checked her messages making sure Kai hadn't texted her asking for directions or anything else important. Seeing she didn't have any messages the Highlander put her phone on the center console of her car before grabbing her water bottle

Getting out of her car Hazel was already in her workout outfit, simple leggings, sneakers, and a tank top. She wasn't one for dressing too fancily outside of the ring to begin with and her outfit was a good demonstration of it.

Walking towards the door Hazel stopped and leaned against the wall nearby looking around for any sign of Kai while waiting patiently if not still a little anxious about things.

Kai had taken the bus today from her apartment as the vehicle was slowly making its way through traffic and the early rush hour was making the commute rather slow. Kai had her long brunette hair down for a change wearing a long purple bodysuit with a black shirt over it and black sneakers covering her feet as she adjusted the laces. This was common gym attire for her in Japan as the country wanted women looking a little professional when it came to using their public gyms. Luckily, the same demure standards didn’t apply to LAW’s gyms not that she would entertain the thought of getting into hentai stuff or anything too lewd. Kai had her own better reason for heading to the gym, anyway.

Hazel Nielsen, a Scottish wrestler that Kai met in America at a major indie event LAW would be invited to , had been the talk of the town as she took place in a tournament that was primarily dominated by men. Hazel seemed to defy gender roles and enter to prove herself as one of the fastest rising stars in the world of wrestling and she did alright from what Kai observed in the crowd. She even exchanged numbers with Hazel backstage and this would be their first meet up since then. Kai had come back on the 18th from Canada after her mother mentioned Kai had an aunt that lived there and Kai wanted to meet her. Kai then scheduled this training spar with Hazel the day she came back to Japan.

The bus pulled up to the stop and Kai got up grabbing her purple gymbag from the overhead rack. She grabbed it before rushing off the bus and then up the sidewalk hoping she wasn’t running late. Kai could always get sidetracked on her Dragon Ball Z fighting games.

Hazel hummed to herself keeping her eyes scanning up and down the sidewalk and street, looking for any sign of Kai. Seeing a bus stop up the street Hazel's attention shifted to it, then shifted to a woman in a black and purple outfit getting off, the purple certainly helping the person stand out with the street, the woman approached the gym with some haste and when she got close enough Hazel smiled realizing it was Kai. "There she is" The Scottish woman thought to herself quickly standing up straight and walking a few feet forward to meet her. One of the first things Hazel noticed was that Kai was wearing her hair down as opposed to wearing it up like she had when they first met, she looked nice either way.

"Hey" Hazel said greeting the woman with a smile. "If you needed a ride I could have given you one" she added unsure if she should hug or offer Kai a handshake, deciding she should let Kai make any moves like that to make sure she didn't make things awkward considering they hadn't known each other for too long, though Hazel certainly felt some way about the Japanese woman.

“HEY HAZEL!” Kai greeted as she was running a little faster than expected and couldn’t stop herself fumbling into Hazel’s arms and wrapped her hands around the Scottish woman’s neck. This was purely accidental, but Kai leaned into it some to at least make it formal greeting. She got off Hazel and steadied herself as she panted feeling a little out of breath. “I’ll…be honest…guagh….I didn’t realize you picking me up would be an option. I didn’t think about it.”

“But regardless, it’s good to see you. You did great back at International Conflict. I can’t believe you took to the men in that tournament,” Kai stated with admiration in her eyes.

Before Hazel could decide whether or not to greet Kai with a hug, the decision was made for her, as the Japanese woman couldn't stop herself in time and plowed into her. The Scotswoman took a step back, making sure to keep her balance as she caught Kai. With each woman's arms wrapped around each other, it almost appeared like a hug or essentially was one. Hazel blushed a bit, trying not to at least chuckle at Kai's sudden clumsiness as the woman found her footing, got off her, and started to catch her breath. "I can always drive you back later" Hazel said with a smile before Kai started praising her about the event the two had met at. "I mean a match is a match and I'm not going to back away from a challenge" Hazel explained not seeing intergender wrestling as some huge change from her usual career of wrestling women, after all she had done it on the indies before joining LAW or doing any tournament.

Kai and Hazel met properly for the first time at International Conflict, a big independent wrestling event showcasing the world of different wrestlers from many countries. Not just those attached to the usual hot spots like America, England, Mexico, or Japan, but other countries like Germany, Italy, Norway, and the such. Hazel had finished a first round match in their Global Frontier Cup being the only woman to enter and an entrant that caught eyes on social media. Kai had bumped into Hazel saying she watched her from the crowd and she was amazed. Hazel and Kai took a liking to each other and exchanged numbers promising to meet back in Japan.

“I’ve faced men as well! Well, more so on the international martial arts circuits. I’ve actually went undefeated against them. 55-0,” Kai boasted.

Hazel rolled her shoulders loosening up a bit, especially after Kai had stumbled into her as Kai continued there conversation with some boasting. Hearing of Kai's record Hazel wanted to test the woman's skill against her own. "Interesting... didn't leave out any matches did you?" The Scotswoman teased and took a step forward, raising her hand and putting it Kai's bicep, feeling the toned muscle. Kai certainly spent a lot of time in the gym, and it showed, and Hazel certainly liked what she saw but wouldn't comment directly on it, instead trying to show it in more subtle ways. "So what did you want to work on?" Hazel asked, acknowledging they were at the gym together.

Kai playfully pouted at Hazel’s remark about her potentially leaving out matches where she might have lost. Her first year in martial arts had her against fighters with her skill level and those that were above her. Kai learned from her mother so she was a step ahead of most and racking up wins came a little naturally to her. She probably couldn’t take down Bruce Lee in a one-on-one match, but she feels she could still hold her own for a little bit. Kai does live mostly at the gym as a second home.

“Hey! I don’t have anything to hide! Those men were just unlucky to be put up against the daughter of a great martial artist,” Kai playfully retorted as she crossed her arms and pouted looking off. “As for what we can work on, I haven’t been featured in a LAW match yet so I need to practice my martial arts to see how well they flow in my moveset and against actual wrestlers. I guess you’re my punching bag today.”

Hazel wasn't going to lie and say she had never taken a loss on the independent scene, but that wasn't going to stop her from playfully teasing Kai about her record and boasting. The Scotswoman then grinned, hearing Kai take pride in her family and lineage, just like Hazel was, except her father taught her and her siblings wrestling. Family and loyalty were things that were very important to Hazel, and she was glad to see that Kai represented that well.

Hazel's eyebrows raised hearing Kai's plans, and that Hazel was likely going to be her test dummy. "Careful, this punching bag fights back" The Scotswoman teased before taking a step back and glancing towards the gym doors. "We should probably head inside then" Hazel suggested, waiting for Kai to take the lead, eager to see what the Japanese woman could do, and see how she handled herself in a spar.

Kai nodded and headed inside with Hazel as the Scotswoman held the door open for her. They immediately bolted for a training ring to claim it as Kai rolled in getting to her feet. She went to a corner and tugged on the top rope smirking at Hazel as she started warming her stance she wanted to get into. Kai even flexed her right leg high in the air grabbing to stretch her arm and hamstring out.

“Whatcha want to test first? My Hidden Dragon? Flowing Flamingo? Sneaky Monkey? or maybe you like Venomous Viper?” Kai asked as she smirked knowing her martial arts gave her a huge advantage here.
