Mikasa once upon a time appeared to be a cheerful, outgoing, and gentle child. Her innocence allowed her to push anxious thoughts to the back of her mind, continuing to live with her parents and loved ones happily. Though as she grew up, Mikasa became emotionally withdrawn and noticeably dangerous, sometimes intimidating her enemies or even her comrades. She is quite stoic and level headed, rarely seen to lose her cool or be at a loss of what to do, no matter how bleak the situation seems to be.

Mikasa was born to an Asian mother, and her father was a member of the Ackerman clan. Mikasa lived as a farmhand helping her parents on their land. Mikasa underwent a painful scarring ritual from her mother, who cut into her skin the mark of their family. Mikasa wouldn’t learn about her heritage up until she reached the start of her adolescence. Mikasa is a part of the Ackerman Clan. A clan who had a natural affinity for fighting. As such, her father was a pro fighter. Regardless of the combat sport, Mikasa’s father fought in it. Albeit under a different name, not to alert any parties that may want to him or his family. Even her mom partook in some matches but not nearly as much as her father. Wanting to follow in her father’s footsteps, she took lessons under him. Mikasa being a quick learner was picking up moves and maneuvers reserved for the elite. Mikasa would do some amateur fights in a effort to give her some experience. Be it close or a easy win, knowledge would be gained nonetheless. Something not noted is that Mikasa’s family was never doing well financially. Sometimes barely making payments, taking it upon himself. Mikasa’s father would start taking matches that gave him the chance to make more money. However, the battles would be more ruthless, with the rules being that there are no rules. His doctor would advise Mr.Ackerman to find another way to make money because, at this rate, he won’t live to see Mikasa grow up. Taking that suggestion, Mr.Ackerman decided to do one final fight. He was putting everything on the line, meaning that the return would be astonishing. But the match would not go his way as Mr.Ackerman would die from his wounds. This broke Mikasa’s mother in such a way that she could not function as an adult. Fast forward here, Mikasa would be taken in by her father’s doctor. Mikasa currently would be more reserved and introverted from the entire event as would happen to any child. It was one Eren Yeager who helped Mikasa get out of her head. Not to make Mikasa the same way she was as before, but instead, she could move on. Eren was even inspired by Mikasa when she told him that she likes to fight. Thinking this would be a way to help Mikasa. Eren desperately urged Mikasa to fight to win, as to keep the memory of her father alive. This mentality would put Mikasa in a better position than before. But as time would go on, Mikasa began to fight for her reasons. Yes, she still enjoyed it, but Mikasa was more interested in fighting for those around her. Following Eren and his path to the top.
