Wrestling Information

Team Strategy: Aino & Lottie work very well together, and complement each other marvelously inside the ring. They know each other’s strategies and strengths and weaknesses well, and sometimes they might not even need any verbal communication inside the ring to understand each other’s thoughts and plans. As a result, their performance is often a well-coordinated effort against their opponents.

In short, their strategy can be summarized to Aino’s task being to take in any necessary punishment from their opponents, while Lottie devises a genius plan to take them down. Of course, things end up rarely all that straightforward… But surprisingly often, still sticking more or less to that script.

Speed, agility, intelligence, and unpredictability – those are IceQ’s most effective qualities inside the ring.

Part of the unpredictability aspect is to keep their behavior rather mysterious, and seemingly vary some elements of their strategies inside the ring. This can also mean some cheap tricks, or even more illegal moves to a measured degree, if it is likely that they can pull those off without any repercussions. One of their favorite tricks is also to bring a bucket of ice cubes by the ringside, for… Well, only they know what. Also, they love to confuse the referee and the opponents regarding which one of the is actually the legal fighter for the moment.

On their own, Aino is more of a tenacious babyface, trying to outrun and outlast their opponents, while Lottie usually takes the main responsibility for outsmarting them, even if Aino is rather capable with that too. If their roles are forced to reverse, they become prone to running out of time to come up with a master plan more quickly. This also make Tornado Tag matches more challenging.

Frustrated enemies or haters sometimes end up calling them “IceQ-BS”. That is usually just a signal to Aino & Lottie of their strategies having been highly successful.

Preferred Matches: While IceQ is happy to take on almost any kind of (non-Hentai) matches, they especially enjoy stipulations, scenarios and locations that are somehow unusual, and that their opponents are not that familiar or comfortable with. It allows them more opportunities to take advantage of their adversaries’ weaknesses, and to let their own smarts and intellect shine in novel situations.

Team Attitude To Hentai: “We have discussed that we… That we…" "That we are not doing those here. Right?“

"Right! We’re not!" “We are not.”

“If we were to ever do those though, we’d be called the IceQubes!” *Aino’s sudden, eager addition met simply with a shocked gaze from Lottie – and not least because ice cubes melt very easily*

Team Strengths:

⦁ Connected minds (often they don’t even need verbal communication to know each other’s thoughts and plans)
⦁ Complementing qualities (together they form a rather formidable opponent)
⦁ Psychology and mind games (their opponents can rarely outsmart them)
⦁ Unusual scenarios (matches requiring innovativeness and quick thinking usually favor them)

Team Weaknesses:

⦁ Lack of brawn (neither one of them is even close to a Powerhouse or a Heavyweight)
⦁ Amateur background (both lack extensive wrestling experience, most of their matches having taken place in smaller circles and against each other)
⦁ Tornado Tag matches (when needing to fight simultaneously, they can reap less benefits of their complementing qualities or clever plans)
⦁ Falling out of script (if things don’t go as they’ve planned, they can be left vulnerable before being able to return to their strategy again)

Team Moves:

"Sssshhhhh!!! They’re top secret!" “Yes. Best moves are brewed in silence.”

Note: IceQ’s Team Moves do often count on being novel, innovative, unusual, and unpredictable, so they are striving for not allowing opponents to gain benefits out of analyzing their past performances.

Past
Spoiler

Aino hails from Rovaniemi, Finland, up north by the Arctic Circle in the cold and dark Lapland, land of snow, reindeer, Santa Claus, and the Aurora Borealis – the Northern Lights. While this may sound rather exotic, in reality, growing up, she led a fairly ordinary life – by Finnish standards. Aino was always rather hard-working and diligent at school, and often doing various sports, specializing in some winter sports like cross-country skiing. In essence, most of the time she was the epitome of a “good girl”, never causing any trouble, while obeying her parents, socializing with her friends, and building her future.

It was no surprise to anyone that Aino eventually ended up in the university, starting to study education, with the aim of becoming a teacher. However, as she began leading a more independent life now living away from home, some aspects of her life also began shifting… Her adventurous mind becoming intrigued to explore new possibilities. Especially, her traditional favorite sport of cross-country skiing no longer seemed to provide as much enjoyment, especially as she was falling behind the performance of the “best” athletes.

Coincidentally, that’s when she heard of her university’s pro wrestling club, and after watching their shows for some time, dared to join it herself too. At first, being pretty much the only girl among the small group, she obviously had a bit of a rough time with the more experienced members training her, and giving her some painful lessons along the way. But it wasn’t all doom and gloom. What Aino discovered was that her stamina that she had developed with winter sports aided her endurance in wrestling… And learning to take in punishment improved her tenacity too. Also, coming from an inexperienced background, she was less constrained by the conventional moves and techniques of wrestling, instead ending up utilizing her wits a lot to come up with more innovative moves instead. This resulted in her developing her signature style of performing in matches.

Lotta comes from the Savonia region in the middle parts of Finland, from the heart of the Finnish Lakeland. Her youth was filled with fairly ordinary stuff – school, chores, and enjoying nature through her hobbies, horseback riding and canoeing. Especially during the long and dark winters though, her focus shifted more on being somewhat of a bookworm, immersing in her studies, where she exceled especially in mathematical subjects. Combining this with her love of nature, science became an increasingly intriguing topic for Lotta.

As a logical next step, Lotta ended up going to university in the city of Kuopio, where she started studies in natural sciences. While most of her time was spent on her actual studies, she also tried to gradually break a little bit free from her usual, shy, and rather reserved shell. Also, living in a bigger city now instead of a small town provided its own novelties, and Lotta found herself more frequently wandering outside of her comfort zone.

One journey out of her usual comfort zone found Lotta beginning to tutor some exchange students in her university. One of them happened to be an Italian guy, who started consistently teasing her for her Finnish name basically meaning “Savonian Wrestling” in Italian. While it started off merely as a joke, things escalated, and Lotta eventually found herself having joined the university’s small pro wrestling club. While some painful lessons were quickly inevitable, Lotta began also reflecting a lot on the optimal strategy to approach her matches with, also considering the psychology of her opponents. Gradually, her style began counting more on her brain than her brawn – and some success followed.

------

As the quirky sport had few hobbyists in a small country like Finland, their wrestling clubs began cooperating with other university wrestling clubs in Finland to set up occasional fight nights. As a result, Aino and Lotta began having rather frequent matches with each other. The two ended up trading wins and losses with each other during their multiple encounters, while also learning to know each other’s styles very well in the process. And funnily enough, despite their supposed animosity inside the ring, the two became actually rather good friends as well, sharing a similar interest.

By the time they both were graduating from university though, the wrestling club of Aino had begun arranging fight nights for the viewing pleasure of local tourists visiting the wintry Rovaniemi. This led to the girls to wrestle as a tag team for the first time, also hastily adopting rather kitschy English monikers for themselves in the ring – Aino Arctic & Lottie Savvy – that at least somewhat described their personalities, for the tourists at least. But while the names might had not been all that well thought-out, their wrestling instead was. It was quickly evident that all the matches they had fought against each other had turned them into a very effective tag team, and they were quickly found out to be a surprising force to reckon with in the ring.

Coincidentally, one night there were LAW talent scouts from Japan, by chance visiting the wintry Lapland, observing a show put on for the tourists. Of course, Aino & Lottie immediately caught their eye… And it didn’t take long after the show for the girls to receive an offer to join officially the LAW ranks as its newest tag team. Faced with the choice of embarking on an exciting, potentially lucrative wrestling career vs facing uncertain employment right out of university, the girls decided to take up the offer – this time maybe with a slightly better thought-out team name – and so IceQ was born.

Match Ideas & Possible Opponents: Aino & Lottie are looking forward to wrestle together as IceQ, getting to showcase their skills and intellect to take down the fearsome competition in LAW! The are happy to accept both Tag Team and Handicap matches. They especially appreciate unique or unusual stipulations, or locations that their opponents are not used to fighting in.

They are expecting to have matches mainly against females, but they may occasionally venture into intergender matches too.

Aino & Lottie haven’t signed up for Hentai matches. And currently it looks rather unlikely, that as a tag team they would.
