Unread post by Pegasus »

Name: Brook Porter

Nickname: The Social Media Sweetheart

Age: 27

Height: 5’6

Weight: 132 lbs.

Hometown: Los Angeles, California

Background:

In order to make it in one of the big cities, you need to definitely have some foundation to bounce off of. Brook’s parents would come to understand that has her father became an engineer moving to California for college and then quickly getting himself a nice job outside of Los Angeles. Her mother became a fashion show coordinator after graduating from UCLA and also doubled jobs as an assistant manager at a boutique shop and a project manager for a design firm. Her father would be 26 and her mother would be 28 when they met dating for six years before eventually tying the knot. At 36 years old, Brook’s mother would be pregnant with their daughter and Brook would be born into the world. Brook was well-off since her parents made good enough money so a normal life was on the table. Once her mother reached her early 40s, she became a state-renowned name and started sketching clothes ideas for various celebrities in LA even traveling to Washington and Arizona to work with multiple indie designers.

Since her parents always seemed busy with work, her aunt and uncle would take care of her during the day and her father would pick Brook up after work. She would get to see her mother every other weekend, but the relationship was always a bit estranged since her mother always seemed more focused on conference calls than her own daughter. This led Brook to having a wonderful relationship with her father and taking after him and his interests more. When Brook turned 14, she started staying at the house by herself after she came home from school and her father would leave leftovers from his lunch for her to eat dinner or she would just fix something simple herself. For her 18th birthday, her parents started letting Brook use social media since before they wanted her solely focusing on living life and her studies. Brook immediately created a Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat accounts finding all her friends and she was on social media reading gossip from morning to the night. It did get a bit unhealthy at first, but Brook knew when enough was enough.

Brook turned 24 when her mother retired from her exhausting career and she wanted to make up for lost time since she was hardly around Brook during her younger years. Through a few connections of her mother’s, Brook found herself doing some photoshoots for extra money and tried on boxing workout clothes. Brook felt more confident and shared her photos on her social media which got her noticed for physique making her a part-time model. Brook actually looked more into boxing and got hooked starting to work with a personal trainer her mother hired at 25 and had her first fight three months into training which she lost by TKO, but she put in a good show. Brook worked bookings in her home state racking up a good record of 16 wins and only 4 losses. She even won a bunch of tournaments and even thought about going into the Olympics some day.

Brook had recently won the California Boxing Federation Lightweight Championship when LAW called her interested in having her on as a coach. Her mother helped arrange an apartment for her daughter in Tokyo and Brook was on her way even taking bookings in Japan wanting to face the best internationally. Brook now works as a striking coach for LAW and is always ready to step up for the next generation that want to build themselves a road to success like her and her parents did.

Personality:

Brook can be somewhat of a valley girl and has the accent to go along with it. She loves being a social butterfly and her obsession with social media became a focal part of her boxing career as it built her networking skills. She even took on the nickname “The Social Media Sweetheart” to represent her as a whole. Brook can be hotheaded and a bit immature even approaching the magic number of 30, but her father taught her a lot about humility and how to hold herself accountable. That doesn’t make her any less of a party girl even when she does it responsibly. Brook also got her focused demeanor from her father.

What Brook Offers:

Brook isn’t much of a wrestler, but boxing has some of the same qualities that many wrestlers would teach their new recruits. For example, Brook has good footwork and coordination which are also keen in wrestling. She also helps potential students up their striking quality and may also help a little in how to counter. Brook may not teach formal wrestling moves, but there is still a trick or two up her sleeves to teach beginners in her realm or help them improve on what they know about striking.
