First Impression

Unread post by Teenwrestler »

It had been an interesting past couple of 3 months. Daichi Kazura had met Vida Fenix at an indie wrestling show where the two were booked and instantly developed a liking to each other. Fast forward 3 months, the two had been officially dating. Both of them liked each other quite a lot and both being wrestlers, knew what it meant to be on the road or training. So today, Vida wanted him to meet her godmother Santa Tigresa- the leader of the group she was associated with "Las Superestrellas".

Daichi wasn't so keen on that because he had an issue with that. He liked the group when it was run by Blanco, his hero, however he wasn't so impressed with Santa Tigresa. He knew that Vida looked up to her so he didn't tell her anything but deep down, he wasn't too impressed by her. Now, he was forced to meet her because he did not want to upset his girlfriend. However, he had a gut feeling that the meeting wouldn't be so good.

He was in the locker room with Vida, changed into his gym attire. "Um, are you sure this is a good idea? I feel like she is a bit...over protective of you" he said, leaning over to give Vida a kiss on the cheek. "Anyways, I'm ready to go see her now. Shall we?" he proposed to Vida.

Obviously, meeting her in the gym during a training session meant that Santa would be busy training but Daichi was eager to meet Santa, despite his disapproval of her overprotecting Vida and being the leader of the group.

From the first moments that she’d been introduced to the ring and gotten to actually hit the gyms for training, she had always done so with enthusiasm. No matter how difficult the training, or how tough the losses she took in the ring were, Vida put herself fully into everything she did in the ring and in the gym. However, Vida would have been lying if she claimed that there hadn’t been a little extra enthusiasm in her step in recent months.

Part of that was a renewed interest in her in-ring career in LAW, certainly. But just as big was her new relationship, having hit it off with Daichi and sparked off what felt, to her at least, like a whirlwind relationship. Daichi seemed like a good fit for her in and out of the ring. Young, eager and optimistic, but also a fellow wrestler who would understand her devotion to developing her skills in the ring and the sacrifices she would make to follow those dreams. Tonight, she was excited to meet up with Daichi and bring him further into her world by introducing him to her mentor and inspiration, Santa Tigresa!

Having met up with Daichi in the locker rooms, Vida was in her gym clothes and feeling ready for training. She grinned as Daichi gave her a kiss on the cheek, blushing red as he did so.

“Oh, she’s just protective because she knows how hard this business is,” Vida said. “As wrestlers, we’re supposed to beat on each other in the ring. But there’s a lot of wrestlers that will take advantage of you in the ring, and they carry that attitude outside of it, too. My whole career, Santa Tigresa has been looking out for me, I can’t imagine where I would be without her!”

Vida wrapped her gym towel around her neck. She couldn’t figure out why, but it seemed like Daichi wasn’t too sure about this. Was he nervous? On television shows she watched, boys were always nervous about meeting a girl’s mother. Was this like that? Vida was embarrassed about her lack of knowledge, here, but what could she do?

“Come on,” Vida said, taking Diachi by the hand and leading him out of the locker room. “Let’s just get the first part out of the way, and by the time we’re training, you’ll see that this will all be fine!” Vida smiled, reassuringly, and started to lead Daichi toward the training room.

It was always hard to meet up with a lover's parent, especially when they were all wrestlers! Santa Tigresa was a mother figure to Vida but Daichi was skeptical of meeting her. He had known the legendary wrestler to be quite strict to people she did not trust, plus Daichi considered Blanco as his wrestling inspiration and the fact that Santa had defeated him just did not sit well. Furthermore, Santa was actually dating Daisuke- one of the disliked wrestlers at LAW and her own rival for years which simply had her a hypocrite in his eyes. However, she was someone special to Vida so he was going to put up with this for now.

However, he knew that this meeting was going to be disaster because Santa was going to be critical of Daichi and he was going to be the same for her. "Y-yeah, I understand" he would say when she explained the reason why Santa was overprotective of her. "Alright, I guess we should get going" he sighed, hoping this would all end well. With that, she took him by the hand and head out of the locker room as she lead him to the training room. There, they saw Santa Tigresa and Daichi *gulped* as they walked towards her.

"Um, hello Ma'am! My name is Daichi Kazura, nice to meet you" he would say, approaching her with his hand out-stretched for a handshake.

Santa Tigresa hadn’t been completely sure about meeting this young man today, but it was clearly important to her protégé. Honestly, Santa Tigresa thought something like this could wait a while, until it had been long enough to know if the relationship was ever going to be serious. Still, it seemed to be important to Vida, and that was enough reason to do it.

Vida, meanwhile, was feeling an odd mix of emotions. Not experienced in relationships, she was excited to have someone to introduce to her mother figure. Still, she knew enough from cultural osmosis to know this was a big event. Vida hoped it would go well, as she led him into the gym.

“Good evening,” Santa Tigresa said, as the young man made introductions. The luchadora dropped what she was doing and approached them. As always, the luchadora was working out in her full ring gear. She never wanted to appear in public unmasked, and she wanted her potential opponents to know she was training regularly. So, she cut an imposing figure as she stood above Daichi. Arms crossed over her ample chest, looking down at the young man Vida had brought in. “Nice to meet you, too.” Santa Tigresa accepted the handshake, but her expression didn’t soften as she looked Daichi up and down, appraising him.

Of course, this being a wrestling gym, and all three of them being wrestlers- Daichi had expected this to be less than a formal introduction. All three of them were in their wrestling gears as Daichi finally met the mother figure of his girlfriend. He would be as respectful as possible, knowing that Santa would have a short temper when it came to things she really cared about so he did not want to annoy her in any way possible. However, given the reservations he had for her and no doubt she would have for him, things were bound to blow up at the slightest provocations. Of course, Santa's serious expression did not help as she made sure to be the Alpha between all three. Daichi did not like her body language but he was going to be tight lipped for now.

"Yeah so uh....nice day for training huh?" he said looking her up and down as she did to him. "I see you're hard at training? Must be difficult balancing being the leader of the group, wrestling at LAW and the champion at Lucha Inframundo?" he would say. "And then uh, I've heard you also private wrestle your...uh boyfriend? That must be....um fun?" he would say, scratching the back of his head awkwardly.

“Mmhm,” Santa Tigresa nodded, listening as Daichi made his attempts at small talk. She nodded along, wondering if he had followed her career closely, or if Vida had filled him in on the details. Not that she was vain, but she would be impressed if a young wrestler like Daichi paid that much attention to his fellow competitors, even their accomplishments in promotions he wasn’t competing in. However, when the topic came to ‘private wrestling,’ Santa Tigresa bristled.

“What do you mean by that?” Santa Tigresa said, face flushing red beneath her mask. She fixed him with a look. “What Daisuke and I get up to in our private time is certainly none of your business now, is it?” Vida winced, remembering the time she had innocently asked Tigresa if she had one after one of those private sessions, shortly after they’d started. The poor girl tucked her hands behind her back innocently, hoping this wasn’t going to get any worse.

“Tell me,” Santa Tigresa continued, “is a bit of ‘fun’ wrestling how you view my Vida, then? Because that young woman has a promising career, and she deserves to be taken seriously in all aspects of life. Is that something you think you can do? Or are you just looking for some fun wrestling?”

Things were going smoothly so far, he hadn't done anything to annoy her and she would nod when she heard him speak good about her, her accomplishments etc. Vida had prepped him well for this and clearly it had worked, until that he is he would bring up the touchy subject of her matches against Daisuke. She would quickly change her body language and tone, asking clarification on what he meant by that. She would make it clear that what she did with her boyfriend was none of his concern. "Um yeah yeah that's right" he would say, nodding a bit. However, when she would mention if he was simply messing around with Vida he would not take that kindly at all.

"Well its true that what you do with your boyfriend is nothing of my concern but I will say that I have not and will not wrestle Vida- I dont think I need to prove anything to Vida by wrestling her. In this relationship, I dont want to prove that I am better than her in the ring" he would say by looking her in the eye. "Unlike you and Daisuke, who constantly want to wrestle and prove something to the other" he would say.

"However, if it ever comes to it that I have to wrestle you to get to Vida...I'll gladly do that anytime anywhere" he said, stepping up to the mother figure of his girlfriend.

Arms crossed over her chest, Santa Tigresa could only imagine that she looked properly authoritative as she looked at the new boy. That had the added side effect of having to watch Vida squirm as the meeting went from tense but satisfactory, to the opening moments of a disaster movie. Santa Tigresa had bristled at the mention of her own partner, and their private activities, and like it always did her pride got the best of her and things were well on their way downhill.

“Okay, so you don’t want to wrestle her,” Tigresa said, with an eyebrow raised. “So, what’s the matter with her in the ring? You wouldn’t want to help her improve? Or do you not think she would be enough of a challenge, for you? How many of her matches have you watched, anyway?” Santa Tigresa could feel the back of her neck burning, her face flushed beneath her mask. The Tigresa knew she was probably getting carried away, and she couldn’t help but notice Vida squirming beneath the tension in the room as things deteriorated moment by moment. Santa Tigresa’s shoulders rose up for a moment, the luchadora starting to shrug, thinking to herself that maybe, possibly, admittedly not for the first time in her life, her pride and temper had gotten the best of her and escalated a situation for no reason. Then, the boy kept talking …

“Wrestle me?” Santa Tigresa asked, chest rising as she took a deep breath and regarded the boy. Vida’s eyebrows shot up to the top of her forehead, and she froze. Her face almost took on a blue color, her eye twitched, but she couldn’t force words out of her mouth. There was no saving this one.

“Are you … challenging me?” Santa Tigresa asked, moving her fists to her hips. She looked the young man up and down. “There are rings here. We’re dressed for it. You think you might want to show me what you’re made of, then? What kind of man you really are?”

He knew this meeting would be a disaster and his fears would soon come true. Santa was a proud woman, a champion in another organization and she was going to impose her authority on Daichi because of what was at stake. She treated Vida as her daughter and there was no way that she was going to allow Daichi to usurp her sense of authority over her. Of course, mentioning her own boyfriend did not help and things went downhill from there. Santa wanted to let this young boy know who was boss and she was going to do it verbally or physically if it came to do that. Immediately, she judged that he did not want to wrestle her because there was something wrong with her skills or that he thought she was not good enough.

"N-no that's not it. She's already good enough and I don't treat her as a challenge that I want to conquer. I wont wrestle her because I like her" he would say, proud that he was able to stand up to Santa for Vida- even if Vida had no issues with her mother figure, Daichi thought she was being too over-protective here. Then, he said that if it came to it, if Santa got in between him and Vida, he would even beat her in the ring. Santa would place her fists to her hips and suggest they take this to the ring.

Daichi would shake his head. He stepped up to her a bit. "Not in front of Vida. I dont want to see her what I do to do you when we wrestle" he said. "There is a sauna room here where we can wrestle behind closed doors. I challenge you to a last man standing match inside the sauna, if you leave the sauna room as the last woman standing- then you can decide whats best for Vida. However, if I leave the room as the last man standing...then you need to step away from us" he said with a glare.

There was no mistaking it, this had been an absolute disaster. Vida squirmed a little, her hands crossed behind her back, her knees shifting uncomfortably. Vida liked how passionate and excitable Daichi could be, but right now that was doing him no favors. Vida watched as the both of them started to charge toward a conflict, with no way for either of them to stop. Vida stepped back, not wanting to just let this happen … but knowing that there was no way she could stop what was already in motion.

Santa Tigresa, meanwhile, was looking Daichi up and down. The young man wasn’t backing down, and while Santa Tigresa didn’t necessarily agree with what he was saying, she did admire that he seemed to confident in it, and that he was willing to stick to his guns. For better or worse.

“What you do to me!?” Santa Tigresa asked, chest swelling as she took a deep breath of irritation. “You seem very confident that this is going to end well for you, young man. But fine, if that’s the way you want it, I can teach you a few things in a last man standing match. When we step out of that room, though, there’s not going to be any hiding from Vida how I’ve humbled you. So just try to keep that in mind.” Vida planted her face in her palms and groaned.

“Just … try not to hurt each other. Or yourselves,” Vida sighed.

“Do not worry, Vida,” Santa Tigresa said, turning toward the saunas. “This isn’t going to be a fight, just a very tough lesson.” The luchadora started to walk to the saunas, stretching her shoulders, rolling her head to limber up. Vida grabbed Daichi’s arm, and gave it a squeeze. She quickly leaned in to kiss her man, wishing him luck, before letting him go. She would watch the two head to the sauna, hands clasped over her chest in worry, hoping that somehow there could be any good outcome from all of this …
