"Lunara wants you, Astrid and Nerissa to visit her nightclub this Friday," Victoria said. "She asked me to tell you that she has an offer for the three of you."

"If she really needs something, she could do it in person," Charlotte said reasonably. "Besides, unlike Astrid and Nerissa, I don't really like such places."

Charlotte went to her locker and took a towel. She had already finished her warm-up and was preparing to leave the locker room. However, she was slightly intrigued by Victoria's words. She was not very familiar with Lunara, they had met only a few times and for the most part she only knew that Lunara was striving to make a big name for herself in the hentai division. That's why she didn't quite understand what Lunara might need from her and her friends.

The manager just shrugged her shoulders. She was well aware that Charlotte preferred to spend her time training rather than drinking. However, Lunara didn't give her any details, so she had nothing more to add. She did what she was asked to do, and the rest did not depend on her.

"What did Astrid and Nerissa say to that?" The pink-haired woman decided to clarify, wiping sweat from her forehead with the towel.

"Nerissa immediately agreed, you know her," the manager smiled slightly. "As for Astrid, I haven't had time to talk to her yet."

"I see..." the Frenchwoman sighed. "Okay, I'll think about it after the match."

Charlotte put the towel in the locker and closed it. Without saying anything else, she left the locker room, leaving Victoria alone. The Frenchwoman headed down the long corridor, simultaneously trying to get everything out of her head except the upcoming match. She wasn't in the habit of studying potential rivals in advance, but she got some basic information from Victoria.

Entering the waiting room, the pink-haired woman stopped in front of the curtains. Theodora, that's the name of the woman she's going to fight today. And although Victoria made a special emphasis on the unusual temperament of this woman, Charlotte was much more interested in the successes and style of this woman. Theodora uses amateur wrestling as the basis of her style, while Charlotte uses punches and kicks. The Frenchwoman caught herself thinking that she had never had to face such a rival. However, she was sure that such matches were the best opportunity to gain experience. So she was ready.

Her dynamic music started and the Sand Lizard came out from behind the curtains. Without changing traditions, she made a few punches in the air to the beat of the music, and then raised her right fist over her head. Being met with stormy applause, the Frenchwoman could not restrain herself and smiled broadly.

Walking down the ramp and waving to the audience, the pink-haired woman caught herself thinking that she was starting to get used to the amount of support she received after the start of her career. At first, the audience was very skeptical about her noble character, but this changed quite quickly. And the more support she received, the greater her desire to get to the top became. In a sense, they helped her finish Apex with a resounding success. And now the opportunity to fight for the title was only a matter of time.

Climbing up the metal steps, the Sand Lizard immediately grabbed the top rope. In one motion, she jumped over the ropes and, without slowing down, ran to the center of the ring. Taking a deep breath, she pushed off the mat, simultaneously allowing her body to start spinning. Her left leg made a wide arc, cutting through the air, which made the audience gasp loudly. And when the Frenchwoman gracefully landed on her feet, she immediately took her fighting stance.

The Sand Lizard accepted the last applause and bowed to the audience, after which her music came to an end. She greeted the referee and headed to her corner. After jumping a few times on her toes, Charlotte decided to warm up the muscles of her arms a little more. She had a feeling that today she would need it more than ever, given the skills of her rival. Nevertheless, she was looking forward to Theodora's arrival. For a real fighter, the chance to fight a skilled opponent is a great honor. Charlotte intended to take this chance and see if her abilities were enough to overcome a woman whose style was very different from her own.

Theodora was readying herself for her match for tonight, where she was slated to face Charlotte Ravel. From what she had gleaned about this Charlotte, she had learned that their wrestling styles were pretty much the opposite to each other. While Theodora had faced pure strikers back then before she joined LAW, she knew that her opponent for tonight might be a tricky one.

Of course, Theodora was confident in her wrestling skill, and thinking that she could win, she would then make her way out of the locker room, already giving herself one last check-up. Appearing at the ramp, her music was played, and she received mixed reactions from the audience, which made sense, considering her attitude in the ring, though while she might be mean-spirited and acerbic, she would follow the rules during matches.

Of course, Theodora was aware that many among the crowd seemed to be delighted by her appearance due to her looks. She was aware that her skintight leotard that showed off her curvaceous figure was something that many people seemed to love, though that was normal in this industry. Putting the thought aside, Theodora reached the ring and climbed up the apron, slipping through the ropes to enter.

Showing her cocky smile, Theodora looked at the direction of Charlotte. She looked quite formidable enough, though Theodora was confident in her own skill. Deciding to initiate some interaction, Theodora stepped forth, making her way to the center of the ring before she remarked, "Well, well... I hope you won't bore me. I'm not someone you can beat with just brute strength, after all..." She smirked after saying that.

When the unfamiliar to her music started, Charlotte turned her head to the side in order to look at Theodora, who appeared at the top of the ramp. The purple-haired woman was greeted loudly enough, but it was hard not to notice that not all of the screams of the audience were welcoming. It seems that this woman has already managed to acquire a somewhat ambiguous reputation.

However, the Frenchwoman was not too worried about it. She already had experience with just arrogant rivals like Amy Evans, and with real scoundrels like Gabriella Guerrero. Besides, she was not one of those who judge a person in advance. Bias never leads to anything good. Only a fight can show what a person really is.

When Theodora reached the ring and slipped between the ropes, the Sand Lizard was able to take a more detailed look at her opponent. The Frenchwoman was taller than the purple-haired woman by about ten centimeters and perhaps even several kilograms heavier. However, it was for this reason that Theodora seemed somewhat more massive than Charlotte. Still, it was pointless to deny, the American woman had an excellent physical shape and her tight suit emphasized this damn well.

Ignoring the cheeky smile on her opponent's face, Charlotte headed to the center of the ring to greet the purple-haired woman. However, when they were face to face, Theodora took the initiative. And literally every word she said showed how confident she was in her abilities. Because of this, Charlotte slightly pursed her lips, she considered such behavior inappropriate for a real fighter. However, these words were not as unpleasant as those that Amy said to her before their match. So...

Charlotte clenched her right fist and pressed it against her straightened left palm, after which she bowed to her opponent. She felt she had to show respect to the other fighter. It was part of her code.

"Charlotte Ravel'..." she introduced herself, straightening up to her full height. "And don't worry, you won't be bored today." She wasn't going to express herself too grandiloquently, but she didn't see anything wrong with slightly cooling her rival's ardor. "May the best woman win."

With these words, the pink-haired woman extended her right hand forward, offering Theodora a more classic handshake. Many of her rivals considered her behavior old-fashioned, but Charlotte herself saw it differently. She considered herself a fighter and honor came first for her. Here, in LAW, many have forgotten about the meaning of this word. But Charlotte was not one of them.

If Theodora had accepted the handshake and everything had gone smoothly, then Charlotte, releasing her opponent's hand, would have taken two steps back in order to take her fighting stance. The right leg shifted a step back, so that she turned slightly to her opponent with her left side. The right clenched fist rose to the level of her chin, and the left fist remained at the level of the middle of her torso. With a brief nod to the referee, she made it clear that she was ready. Now they were separated from the ringing of the bell only by the same confirmation of readiness from Theodora.

Theodora narrowed her eyes as she looked at Charlotte. So she was one of those people, huh? Well, not that she cared. When Charlotte told her that she wouldn't be bored by her, Theodora just scoffed and said, "I'll be the judge to that." Of course, when Charlotte offered a handshake, Theodora looked at it for two seconds before she accepted it. She knew that her opponent was a honorable fighter, and Theodora wasn't one to spit on such honor regardless of how she acted.

"Hmph." Theodora said before she stepped back, readying herself for the match. Soon, the bell was rung, and Theodora would get into a stance. She looked at the stance Charlotte had taken, and it was clear that she was a striker. The two of them were pretty much polar opposites to each other, and she wanted to see who would triumph over the other at the end of this match. Looking to take the initiative, as soon as the bell was rung, Theodora would charge towards Charlotte, looking to ram her shoulder into her gut before wrapping her arms around her waist.

After a few seconds of agonizing waiting, the corners of Charlotte's lips lifted slightly. She had no idea what decisions Theodora would make, but when the American woman held out her hand and their palms joined, it was a good sign that this woman is no stranger to sports ethics. This was approved not only by Charlotte, but also by the audience, who gave them both applause.

After the handshake, both fighters took a few steps away from each other. As expected, Theodora took a classic wrestling stance. Looking at her and the Sand Lizard, the audience was convinced that today they will see a real battle of styles. And although this was not uncommon in the LAW ring, they were looking forward to it because both women have shown impressive results recently. Their wait came to an end the moment the referee waved her hand.

Charlotte took a confident step forward, but her opponent decided to start acting actively from the first second. The purple-haired woman rushed towards the martial arts master as if she wanted to knock her down with just one move. This assumption became even more reasonable when she put her shoulder forward in order to ram the Frenchwoman.

But Charlotte wasn't going to test whether she could stand up against such pure brute force. Her eyes flashed and she pushed off with her right foot from the mat in order to gain impulse. She intended to use this impulse to take a diagonal step forward and to the left, thereby leaving her opponent's line of attack.

And if she succeeded, she would immediately take a deep breath to fill her body with strength. The Sand Lizard intended to turn to the left, simultaneously raising the left leg bent at the knee above the mat. The last thing she had to do was straighten that leg in an attempt to hit Theodora in her solar plexus with one of the fastest, but at the same time one of the most powerful kicks, namely a back kick!

Charging towards Charlotte with the intention of ramming her shoulder into her gut, Theodora then saw Charlotte moving forward and to the side, leaving her line of attack. Still keeping her eyes on her opponent, Theodora would quickly try to adjust her plan as she was getting closer to where Charlotte was, seeing that the other woman bringing her foot up, presumably to deliver a kick at her.

Even as she continued with her momentum, Theodora would swivel her body so that she wouldn't be hit by the kick straight away, and from there, she would attempt to grab onto that leg as Charlotte was about to straighten it up. If she succeeded, she would try to yank at it, hoping that she could cause Charlotte to lose her footing and fall down to the mat. From there, she would attempt to give the leg a twist, subjecting the striker to an ankle lock.

After avoiding her opponent's first attack, the Sand Lizard set out to test Theodora's reflexes. And she had no more reliable way than a quick back kick. Charlotte knew what speed she was capable of and she needed to find out if her opponent would have time to block it. In a way, Charlotte just wanted to find a starting point.

However, everything did not go according to plan. To Charlotte's sincere surprise, Theodora did not block the kick. Instead, she simply dodged the foot heading into her solar plexus. If Charlotte's evasion of her opponent's attack could be explained by the straightforwardness of that attack, then Theodora's evasion could only be explained by truly good reflexes.

And although the unfortunate kick itself was not a disaster, what happened next could not be called a good development for the Sand Lizard. She did not have time to quickly return the attacking leg to the mat and Theodora took advantage of this. The American woman first grabbed this leg, and then in one quick movement made Charlotte fall.

"Ghhh..." Charlotte groaned quietly.

This fall was not the most painful possible, however, the purple-haired woman hastened to fix it. Twisting Charlotte's leg, she turned the Frenchwoman over on her stomach, and then closed her in a simple but extremely effective ankle lock hold.

"Aaww!" This time her groan was loud enough.

It was a dangerous situation, because Charlotte's legs were her main weapon. She couldn't afford to stay in this position for long. They were in the very center of the ring, so trying to get to the ropes was akin to suicide. Therefore...

The Sand Lizard placed both palms on the mat near her head. She intended to abruptly lift her body above the mat and take a push-up position. In such a simple way, she wanted to reduce the distance between her free leg and Theodora's body, because in order to free herself, the Frenchwoman was going to bend her free leg at the knee, and then kick her opponent in the stomach.

Having captured her opponent's leg in an ankle lock, Theodora sought to weaken her and deprive her of her main weapon in this match, namely one of her legs. Knowing that her opponent was a striker, she knew that targeting Charlotte's legs first would be the way to go. And with them being in the middle of the ring, it would be difficult for Charlotte to reach the ropes to get herself a rope break. So, all she could do was to struggle her way out or endure it, which would put her in a much bigger disadvantage.

As Theodora kept wrenching on Charlotte's ankle, she suddenly felt her opponent pushing herself up. The sudden shift of position caused Theodora to adjust her grip on Charlotte's foot a little, but before she could finish doing that, she took a kick right in her stomach from Charlotte's other foot, and she gasped out as she lost her grip on her leg. "NGH!" Stepping back, she released Charlotte's ankle, and she would put a distance between the two of them as she would regain her bearing and footing.

Charlotte would never claim that every decision she makes is right, because in the end, no one is immune from mistakes. However, she was proud of her ability to make quick decisions, which was very important during any match. This is exactly what happened at the moment when she rose her body above the mat, using the strength of her arms.

She felt Theodora's grip loosen. The American woman probably intended to let go of the Sand Lizard, but before she could do it, Charlotte bent her free leg, and then sent her foot straight into her opponent's stomach. Her kick found its target. The grip on her trapped leg completely disappeared, and Theodora staggered back with a quiet groan.

In order not to waste time, the Sand Lizard jerked to the side, so that she fell on her back. At the same moment, she bent both arms at the elbows and placed her palms on the sides of her head. She intended to take a deep breath and then abruptly lift both legs into the air. The last thing she had to do was forcefully push off the mat with her hands in order to jump to her feet in one movement with a kip-up.

Once on her feet, accompanied by loud cheers from the audience, Charlotte caught herself thinking that she still felt pain in the ankle area. It wasn't a pain she couldn't handle, but she definitely had to be more careful if she didn't want Theodora to turn her legs into two pieces of cotton wool by the end of the match.

"Let's try something else..." flashed through her mind.

Charlotte rushed forward, rapidly closing the distance. But when she got within kicking distance, she didn't stop, instead taking her one more step forward. That's when her left hand would have gone to Theodora's head. Just a left jab aimed at the chin. And although Charlotte did not mind at all if this fist found its target, in fact she only wanted to shift her opponent's defense up, because in that case nothing would prevent her from sending a right uppercut into the stomach of the purple-haired woman in order to completely knock her breath down.

Having received a kick to her stomach, Theodora stepped back, hissing a little as she brought her hand onto her stomach that was struck by Charlotte's kick earlier. As she tried to regain her wit and prepare herself for whatever her opponent would try next, Theodora saw Charlotte suddenly charging towards her, closing the distance between the two of them. Her eyes widened as she would quickly bring her arms up, looking to defend herself from her opponent's attack, which was a jab aimed to her chin.

Unfortunately for Theodora, this left her midsection open to a follow-up attack from Charlotte, who then delivered an uppercut right at her belly! "UGHHH!!!" Air was forcefully expelled out of her lungs as she received the uppercut, and for a moment, she was left completely breathless. She tried to pull away from Charlotte, but for the time being, she was completely defenseless and open to whatever Charlotte might try next.
