Selket had an eye for showmanship - that much was obvious, from how she'd been conducting herself ever since she had first made her intentions in going after the Heavyweight Championship known. When Selket had first made her appearance,
while Astrid was unveiling the newly redesigned belt, she had struck without warning and caught everyone by surprise - particularly Astrid herself, who was set up for an ambush! Ever since then, Selket had been antagonizing Astrid with her mind games and tricky tactics, always seeming to be one step ahead of her, but always making her feel like she was being watched, and reminding her she had a target painted on her back. If there was one thing she made clear, it was that Selket wouldn't rest until she had the title in her hands, and she would stop at nothing to get it.
Whatever the case was, though...it ended tonight. One way or another, Selket's pursuit of the title would finally be answered. Whether that would be from her achieving her dreams, or her finally being put in her place - only time would tell.
"And, her opponent, from Stavanger, Norway! She is the reigning LAW Heavyweight Champion...ASTRID OSTBERG!"
The crowd let out a cheer from the moment Astrid's name was called - and soon after, she appeared on the top rope. She had a confident smile on her face, and over her red leotard she wore a fur-lined robe - one opened just enough to show the Heavyweight Championship around her waist. Astrid stood atop the ramp, her chin raised to the crowd and her hands on her hips as the lights shone down on her. Though her entrance might not have been as flashy as Selket's, Astrid didn't feel like it needed to be. As long as she could back herself up in the ring, she would prove herself capable.
The Norsewoman proceeded down to the ring, where she slipped off her robe, folding it neatly and passing it to a nearby ring girl before she climbed up onto the ring apron. She unclipped her belt and held it above her head, turning to face the crowd - and, although she got a cheer for it, Astrid took care not to step over the ropes until she had already given her belt to the referee. With what she had seen from Selket, Astrid couldn't be too careful.
Once inside the ring, Astrid did a few stretches, catching her breath before she walked over to face her opponent. As she let her eyes settle on the Egyptian Priestess, they narrowed into a glare.
"I know you've been making a lot of motions toward my belt," she said,
"but I'm here to prove that all it is is smoke and mirrors. You crossed a line when you went after my title when my back was turned. You proved to me how little respect you have for what it means to be a champion..." She shook her head.
"But I'm going to show you what it means, right now! You'll see what a real champion is when you see the conviction I hold in standing up for myself, and for the belt! I won't hold back - I can only hope you'll be ready!"
