Friends and Foes! It’s time for the late summer PPV: Fight the LAW 5

These bi-annual PPVs represent milestone opportunities for LAW’s best foot forward. A central spotlight for storymaking, matches, ideas and characters. The biggest sporting events within LAW universe, calling upon a global audience to give your wrestler the attention they deserve. Fans at their maximum investment, some having travelled far, planning, studying, cheering or jeering your character till this moment. While victory is not guaranteed, recognition will be.

Briefly, a recap of the purpose of the two big PPVs
Pay-Per-Views exist for HYPE. They’re the grand stages that represent significant points in a character’s career to show that they MADE it. This is where stories can begin, develop or end on a big stage. Any cool, fun or sexy idea that you can think of: This is the place. It’s one of the rare moments where LAW’s decentralized continuity can converge into one place and seem connected.

LAW has two integral PPVs roughly every six months: We are LAW and Fight the LAW. Where Fight the LAW represents travel and new experiences from its regular Japanese shores, We are LAW is our Wrestlemania. Our Wrestle Kingdom. Our Double or Nothing.

Between these events, LAW also has an assortment of other events, ranging from themed Supercards, Tournaments and User-run special events. Each one helps to grow the community, tell new stories and helps put a spotlight on what folks are doing.
LAW is a worldly place. The sport dominates the globe to attract the greatest wrestlers whether in skill, strength, ferocity, aesthetic and or charisma. This demands a global infrastructure to reach those talents, to provide the boost they need and inspire more viewers to stay for the long haul. And thus, Fight the LAW always takes place abroad to find their global audience. This year will be none other than: Havana, Cuba.

Cuba was once an international hot spot for wrestling during the 40s and 50s. International stars of the Golden Era marked a special spot for Havana in their travels. A popular corner of the Lucha Libre product till about the early sixties when professional sports were heavily restricted. However, in just the last couple decades, these policies have loosened, allowing LAW to host the fifth Fight the LAW PPV.

Like all other times, this is a TWO-DAY EVENT. One will take place at a stadium. The next will have a twist.

Day one: HAVANA CARNIVAL.

Along the malecon coastal esplanade is an ongoing parade (Feel free to make up your own route). Your wrestler will be wrestling on a moving / stationary parade float with ongoing festivities happening in conjunction. Themes and designs of said float are completely up to you. Any bells and whistles you want for a custom ring, be it commemorative, cinematic or designed to make a multi-layered battle ground. The scale, aesthetic and focus of this carnival is up to your interpretation. Consider the streets rather packed for the celebration, with a huge portion motivated to see LAW matches.

Day two: Estadio Latinamericano

At a normal capacity of 55,000, this is the largest stadium within Cuba and second-largest by capacity for baseball. The open stadium has been altered to take on a full stage, ramp and ring smack dab on the field, filled in with temporary seating to allow an added fifteen thousand fans. A scaffold hoists neon pillars and a canopy overhead. The ring’s design, whether themed after stationary parade floats, normal or some other grandeur—is up to your ideas.

For Social Threads, Cuba itself shall serve. All LAW wrestlers and staffers are likely accommodated in a hotel or beach resort inside Havana, but feel free to make your own stories.

    Some heavyweight news!

The Heavyweight belt is now up for grabs! The next holder will be decided by a match between two contenders at the main event of day 2. To decide these contenders, there will be a promo board linked here. Create a character showcase or promo package that best sells your character's ambition, intention and or perspective towards the Heavyweight Championship. This creates a single-entry raffle pool that will pull two active members of the community. If no agreement can be made between the two contenders, then a final flip of chance decides the outcome. Thus, if you want to participate but not win the belt, that will make things easier.

Unique to this opportunity, the character only needs 1 completed match to be considered eligible.

This promo board will last from now till the cut-off point for PPV sign-ups. October 3rd.

    Good Luck!
