Isa was rather concerned.

She wasn't sure if she should have been, though. Or frankly, she probably should have been excited.

Today's match wasn't going to be a regular one. Far from it. Instead of having a standard match in the LAW arena, she was going be wrestling in a ring by the beach, and in a match type that was almost unheard of. A "Popular Vote Match". Having queried the management what on earth it meant, apparently it incorporated some elements of a popularity contest. The audience got to engage in the match... And a lot more than usual. While on paper, Isa's task was to try wrestling as normally as she could... The crowds held the power to vote for some "benefits" or "punishments" for either herself or her opponent, of which Isa had no idea of what they were going to be. And most importantly, they would somehow end up determining the victory conditions... But that could have been seen just as an advantage, right? Someone kind, innocent and sweet like Isa could certainly charm the crowds to her favor, right?

So why to be nervous? Well, for one... Isa hadn't managed the most stellar record in LAW so far, but her matches still usually ranked high up on the popularity standings. Apparently, some thought that she somehow looked good when in trouble - something that Isa couldn't understand what it meant at all - so having the crowds to her favor wasn't going to necessarily be a guarantee. Especially when considering the fact that the only thing she knew of her opponent was that she was going to be a debuting wrestler... So could the crowds end up sympathizing with the rookie? Could they end up negating her experience advantage? Also, the last time she had had a beach match... The weather had been absolutely horrendous - and so had her own performance been in the ring as well against a more dominant heavyweight opponent.

Still, being concerned brought zero benefits. In any case, she had to tackle today's match head on, and make the most out of it. At least the weather was lovely this time!

Isa's Attire (without the cape)

"Our first competitor, contestant "A" on your polling devices, is now approaching the ring! A graceful woman of honor, hailing from the fiery and frozen lands of Iceland, Standing at 5'9" and weighing in at 175 lbs: Isa - The Angel Of Ice!"

Appearing from the shades of a makeshift tent having been put up to facilitate the backstage area for the match, Isa began marching down the rubbery "ramp" towards the proper wrestling ring erected on the beach. The Angel of Ice tried to maintain a confident and graceful appearance as she subtly smiled and waved gently at the crowds, who sounded like they were decently happy for seeing her. At least she wasn't getting any boos or anything, which would have been a pretty bad omen for a match such as today.

One peculiar aspect was that all the crowds were on one side of the ring and the ramp, while the other side of the ring seemed to be replaced by a giant screen. Isa took note but didn't think much of it, apart from modifying her traditional entrance procedure by only climbing on one side of the ring to sit gracefully on the top rope and waving at the crowds, before proceeding to settle in her corner. The Icelander tried to adopt as relaxed-looking stance as she could, while anxiously zooming her sights on the ramp once more, eager to find out how her opponent for this unusual day would turn out to be like.

"And her opponent: Making her way to the ring is contestant "B"! A woman of wealth and taste makes her debut in L.A.W.! From the Principality of Monaco! 6 feet and 198 pounds of twisted steel and sex appeal! Daiya Martinet! "

The anticipation was thick in the air as the music heralded the arrival of the debuting wrestler. There had been no information released prior to the match. It had just been announced there was a 'mystery opponent' for Isa. There was a murmur of expectation and excitement amongst the crowd. That murmur exploded into a roar when Daiya entered the arena from the backstage tent.

Daiya was truly a sight to behold. Her black bikini looked right at home on the beach and the light played beautifully across her soft skin and powerful muscles. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. It wasn't the first time she'd entered a new promotion but this first reaction was always a special one. Once she'd taken some time to appreciate her new beginning she began to walk toward the ring. Her gait was slow yet lacking in the heaviness that would be expected from such a large woman. She moved with a distinct mixture of power, elegance and sensuality. The latter of which was displayed in abundance as she entered the ring as slowly as possible to give everyone and long view of her incredible figure.

Sashaying into the centre she posed with one hand on her hip and the other hand flip her shining black hair. Her eyes locked with Isa yet her expression would be difficult to read. Daiya had been careful not to give anything any during her entrance. Was she a heel? A heroine? She kept it under wraps for the moment. There was nothing like a mystery to capture the minds of the people after all. Once she was finished she went to lean in her corner until the match began.

"Alright, we know you're all excited as we are to get started but first we'll be announcing the result of the preliminary vote! Let's see how the fan's generosity will be shaping this contest! "

The great screen off to the side of the ring began to countdown. The fans counted down along with it. 3! 2! 1! The result of the voting that had taken place before the match displayed one row at a time.

As the crowd cheered, Daiya reaction was muted. The result was no surprise to her. She had some of her more wealthy fans from her previous promotion to thank for that particular condition being applied. She wanted her debut to be something everyone would be talking about. That result made her desire one step closer to being fulfilled.

"Oh my GOD...!!!"

Up to that point, Isa had heard the announcer's words loud and clear. But after hearing those few, her mind blanked for a moment.

So, this was going to be another one. Yet another one of those times when the management loved pairing her up with even taller, bigger, stronger wrestlers than herself... How could it be?!? It seemed like this league had an endess reserve of them... Which could have well been true, considering that this was supposed to be her opponent's debut match. But still... Isa didn't consider herself to be short, small, or weak by any means, so how the heaven were her opponents always such mighty ones?

Of course, rationally thinking, Isa knew the answer. When joining LAW, Isa had been placed just inside the heavyweight league, on its lower reaches. So naturally, with the heavyweight league having no upper limits, a lot of times the opponents could have turned out to be even bigger or stronger than the Angel of Ice herself... It was just that, it wasn't something she would had been used to. Dominating smaller, lighter and weaker opponents had been much easier... And that's what she had been traditionally used to before LAW.

Still, mulling those kind of thoughts wasn't going to helpful, nor productive in the least. And Isa knew that. Gradually, as she could start seeing her opponent making her way towards the ring, the blonde's focus also shifted on her... And oh, was she a sight to see. Her slow, considered movements and exquisite poses were working wonders with the crowds by the sounds of it, and to Isa's dismay, it didn't feel like they would have been outright against her - something that could have been very beneficial for the Angel of Ice in this type of match today.

Daiya eventually settled in the middle of the ring for some more posing, and Isa got to see the full nature of her opponent. And full was a very appropriate word, when observing her appearance, body and curves... She certainly seemed to tick the big and powerful boxes, while her attire... Well, even someone as innocent as Isa had to admit, that it was a little bit scandalous. Sure, this was a beach match and all... But the Icelander had to make note of need for being careful not to inadvertently slip her opponent's top out of place.

Suddenly, Isa realized Daiya's eyes were locked with hers, and the blonde immediately got this strange feeling... Of something. She couldn't quite point out what it was, but it had certainly done a dent on her confidence. Like, that she knew something that Isa didn't. Still, the Icelander intuitively nodded subtly to her opponent, as if having accepted their locked eyes as a greeting.

The announcer's words woke Isa up from her thoughts though, with the huge countdown clock appearing on the giant screen. So, what were these stipulations, or voting results going to exactly be like? Honestly, Isa couldn't wait to find out.

... ""Loss condition - Pin only"? What?" Initially, Isa interpreted the voting result as something tricky for her - quickly combining "contestant A" and "loss condition" in her mind. But she could soon hear some loud "Yeah, go Isa!" -chants from the crowds, that did not sound sarcastic at all, and realized that her very initial reaction had been misinformed. This was good, right? This meant that she could only lose by pinfall, right? Not in any other ways?

Suddenly, Isa was dealt a boost in confidence in turn. Yes! These crowds were on her side! That could definitely even things out, and give some more might for her. And of course, she wanted to reward the voters with a good performance as well!

After her initial puzzled look, Isa turned her sights towards Daiya to see her reaction. But she also realized that staying in the corner was no longer an option, and started making her way towards the center of the ring as confidently as she could, wanting to meet her opponent face to face there. Striving to appear fearless, Isa settled right in front of her Monégasque opponent, with some parts of their bodies already lightly touching, allowing the crowds to compare the younger, muscled blonde's blue bikini-clad body against the black-haired woman's, darker-skinned, meatier, scant bikini-clad one.

"Hello there. Pleasure to meet you. Let's have a good one." the Angel of Ice then greeted her opponent in a subtle yet polite tone, offering her hand for the bigger woman for a shake.

Once the change in rules announcement was out of the way, Daiya focussed her attention on her opposition. "Wholesome" was the first word that came to mind. She had the look of plucky heroine for sure. Mixing regal beauty with steely bravely and topped off with a charming humility that made you want to cheer her on. It was really no wonder the crowd seemed so enamoured with her. She was a little shorter than Daiya and had a far less of fulsome figure but her muscular body left no doubt of her strength.

Isa's bravery was on full display when she approached Daiya in the centre of the ring, fearlessly staring her down despite Daiya being the bigger woman and boldly letting their bodies brush against each other. The offer of a handshake caught Daiya by surprise initially. She was used to her opponents having some prior knowledge of her devious ways. Most of the women in her old promotion wouldn't dream of letting their guard down like that around her. She paused for a moment to consider her options. It was quite tempting to take her up on the offer and use it as an opening for an early submission.
"The pleasure is all mine, ma chérie." She took Isa hand and... gave it a firm shake. This was something of a rare opportunity and Daiya had no desire to squander it. Instead of immediately revealing her malicious intent, Daiya was content to wait for a better opportunity to present itself. She'd no doubt show her true colours in time and when she did, she was going to make sure she did some real damage.

"Shall we start things off the proper way?" She offered her hands up for one of the traditional ways to start a match: a test of strength. It wasn't her preferred method of starting a match. She usually would just charge and take them down to the mat as soon as she could. But it would serve as means for the Monégasque to, as the name suggested, test Isa's strength. Her athletic body certainly looked the part but Daiya wanted to see exactly what kind of power Isa could bring to bear against her. The test of strength would let assess her threat level in relatively safe situation. It could potentially be a risk if the Icelander decided to go for sneaky kick while she had her arms up but Isa certainly seemed like she was the good-natured sort and probably would never even dream of doing something so ignoble.

To that end, if Isa did take up Daiya on her offer to lock hands she would limit her strength a little. She wanted to see what Isa could do so overpowering her immediately would be counterproductive. She would try and push her hard enough to receive a serious response but nothing more than that. Leaving some power in reserve could help her give Isa a nasty surprise once she was done measuring her strength as well.

Yes, Isa had heard some claims of the habit of offering to shake the opponent's hand in the ring to be somehow naive, but those were claims she was always quick to dismiss. Such an action was merely a polite gesture, an act of decency, and part of the stnadard of good manners inside the ring. And especially when facing someone who was debuting, Isa wanted to give out a graceful first impression - even if she already held some doubts over what kind of first impression was her opponent going to give her.

Why should she have held those doubts though? For no reason. Well, apart from the very scandalous choice of a bikini, Daiya hadn't given out any red flags so far, behaviour-wise. But she still had this feeling... There was this subtle air of mystery and dominance surrounding the thick Monégasque... But surely, her brain was just coming up with nonsense? Surely, if she just greeted her politely, and presented decent behavior, the mood between them was going to relax, right?

And fair enough, she didn't need to get disappointed. The crowds got to witness the beautiful, statesque blonde's offer duly accepted, with the taller, thicker vixen seemingly gladly accepting it, even offering some pleasant words in return. Those earned a subtle, polite smile on the blonde's face, who immediately felt more at ease with her opponent. The crowds got to witness and compare their bodies for quite a while in the center of the ring as a result - and coincidentally, Daiya was apparently keen on letting them keep on comparing their bodies against each other, but on a much deeper level.

"Oh, sure thing!" the blonde promptly replied to Daiya's challenge in a pleasantly surprised tone. Especially the notion of starting things off in a proper way appealed extremely to the Angel of Ice. Granted, she did take another quick look from head to toe at her opponent, and got reminded of what exactly she was dealing with here... But when the challenge had issued with such words, there was absolutely no way Isa could have turned it down.

It didn't take long for the statesque-looking blonde to raise her hands up as well, promptly locking them with Daiya's - even if tonight, she might have not appeared quite as statesque when compared to the taller, thicker, and curvier Monégasque. But brave and dutiful were certainly going to describe her appearance truly well!

Still, Isa did recognize that the challenge wasn't going to be easy. Not wanting to get caught off guard, or risk starting off on the wrong foot, the blonde immediately applied quite some force into the contest. She wanted to be the one getting the early lead... And her goal was to measure her strength just enough, to keep the Monégasque getting pushed constantly a bit backwards. If she faced considerable resistance though, it wouldn't take long before the crowds would get to witness her muscles considerably straining, in a full effort of coming out of the battle on top.
