The Mantis and the Bee (Maya meets Honie!)

Unread post by dddybee »

Location: An Insect Observatory
Honie's Causal Theme
Something that perhaps separated Honie from most other animal-themed wrestlers was how much her gimmick was truly, personally a part of her. She loved bees ever since she was a little girl. She and her father straight up owned an apiary: a large collection of beehives where hundreds of thousands of bees made their home. She habitual used the word "buzz" to censor curse words, among other uses. She loved nature and ADORED Africanized Honey Bees in particular. She didn't JUST have a bee-themed wrestling outfit because she thought bees were cute. Though she did indeed think they were rather cute.

In fact, she was wearing her revealing bee-clothes right now, in a causal setting! Honie had causal, farm-themed clothes that she could wear. But today was special. She was visiting at an Insect Observatory, which was basically a scientific zoo for bugs. And Honie desired her clothes to reflect such a theme, even if it left the cheeks of her beautiful behind pretty exposed. Though spending lots of time at LAW had gotten her pretty used to that.

And what's the number one reason Honie would be at an Insect Observatory? Why to see the honey bee exhibit of course! Once there, she squeezed her way through the crowd. Her wide hips and thicc bum couldn't help but to inadvertently smack against people's sides, bumping them as she made her way through said crowd. "Coming through! Pardon me. Ooops. Whoops. Sorry." Honie buzzed, a few annoyed people staggering and grumbling in response. Honie's eyes glistened, as she finally made it close to the bee exhibit. "AWWW! THEY'RE SOOOOOOOO BUZZING CUUUUUUUTE!" Honie said louder than what was probably appropriate for a public setting, raising her fists in front of her in glee.

Why she was so excited to observe the bees here, when she had countless bees on her home's property? Only God knew. But if she wasn't here, she wouldn't be fated to run into a certain fan of hers!

Mantis came to the insect observatory for a signing event a local company was supposed to have set up for her, hence why she was also wearing her wrestling attire; but once she arrived, she got an email from said company informing her of the event's cancelation. So, since she was already here, she decided to sit down on one of the benches close to the mantis exhibit to take a moment to draw some of the observatory's insects.

As she finished her sketch of the mantis exhibit however, she decided to try drawing the exhibit right across from it, which just so happened to be the bee exhibit. And as she moved to a bench closer to the bee exhibit, she spotted none other than the very wrestler who inspired her to base her attire off of mantises: Honie B. Bea, complete with her scandalous wrestling attire and all! Though her own attire wasn't what you'd normally see out in public either, Honie's was... well, let's just say it showed a little more skin than what you'd normally expect someone to wear in an insect observatory.

Maya wanted to reach out ant talk to her, but knowing how much more influential the bee-themed wrestler was compared to her, she didn't really try to get up to talk to Honie right away. After all, she had no idea why Honie would even BE here. Maybe she actually had an event to attend to later, or perhaps she was out on a date with someone else, but she had a hunch that going over just to talk would probably be too sudden and inconvenient for the bee-themed wrestler... so instead, she settled for drawing this once-in-a-lifetime encounter on her sketchbook. It wouldn't be as dope as talking to her in person, but it'd most likely be a whole lot easier and less time-consuming for Honie... plus, if by some miracle she were to come over and talk to her, she'd most likely have a bit of a conversation starter ready!

As Honie observed her fellow insects in the honey bee exhibit, she was unware that Maya had taken notice of her. In fact, Maya had taken such a notice, that the mantis had opted to start drawing the Heroine of the Beehive! Luckily for Maya, Honie would of course be the one amongst the crowd that stayed to beam at the bees the longest. Soon enough, Maya would have a crystal clear view of Honie, not blocked by any obstruction!

But the fact that more people were clearing out also meant it would be easier for Honie to eventually notice Maya. And as fate would have it, that's precisely what occurred! "Buzz?!" Honie exclaimed, turning her head to see a face she recognized! Maya and Honie had talked on Twitter, courtesy of the mantis posting a picture of a destroyed, cheap bench, after it had been introduced to Maya's tough backside.

Enough time had passed, so that Maya likely either got a complete or nearly complete sketch of Honie. Yes, the heroic bee-lover had stared at the honey bee exhibit for while. lol But now she was off to talk to Maya! "Heeeeeey! Is that the Mantis I see?!" Honie buzzed, skipping up to Maya. "Nice to finally meet you! Neat catching ya here! A true, fellow lover of bugs I see!" Beatrice then noticed that Maya was holding a sketch book. "Whatcha drawing, girl?" She asked curiously.

Maya's eyes sparkled with joy as the crowd began moving on to a different exhibit. The diligent mantis wasting no time to use this opportunity to perfect her sketch. With the crowd gone, she could add even more details she had missed while they were around. Mainly the bees in the exhibit, and the surprisingly welcoming enclosure they called home. Her usually stoic expression showing a subtle smile as she finished up her shockingly detailed sketch of Honie and her black-and-yellow friends... just in time for the bee in question to take notice and walk up to her!

She looked at Honie as she called her name, her stoic expression returning once more, but not out of malice or disrespect towards Honie. The emotionless look she usually sports is what her resting face looks like, and is also what she uses to try and make herself look more interesting as a person... which usually doesn't work. "...H-Hey." Mantis replied, her voice showing the fanatic nervousness her face refuses to. "...It's nice meeting you in person as well. And yes... though the bee exhibit seems much more lively than the mantis exhibit... I suppose it must be... 'the bee's knees'... ha... ha... ha... I have now broken the ice." She said, laughing at her own pun in a mechanical, almost lifeless manner, which is much more common for her than one might think.

"I drew you. I did not want to interrupt your bee-watching experience, so I figured it'd be best to make a sketch of you to remember this moment... Sorry for not asking for your permission first." She says, turning her sketchbook to show the sketch to Honie, silently hoping the bee would like it!

After Honie approached and addressed Maya, she noticed the mantis-themed girl was...socially awkward. Despite her expression being stoic, her voice conveyed clear nervousness from meeting Honie for the first time in person. Not that this bothered the bee. She sported a friendly, understanding smile as Maya did her best to get used to Honie's more intimate presence.

Maya then answered the bee's question. "You drew...me?" Honie puzzled, tilting her head slightly. It wasn't the answer she was expecting. But once she saw Maya's drawing, her eyes lit up and sparkled with glee! "AMAZING! You got me and the other bees down pat!" Honie praised. "You even got the thiccness of my badonkadonk right! No worries and no need to ask for permission to draw this buzzing masterpiece!"

Honie gave the sketchbook back to Maya. "Now I've got two questions for ya. One, where did you learn how to draw like that? And two, would you like to check out the mantis exhibit together?"
