L.A.W. - League of Anime Wrestling

Hi, I'm a just a shitty roleplayer who still hasn't figured out my shits despite already doing it for almost a decade now.

When I just started, I tried playing all sorts of characters, various types of matches, against different kinds of other people's characters. Eventually, I found out that I enjoy doing non competitive matches and hentai, with my character losing. Why? From my experiences, competitive matches often turned ugly rather quickly, whether it's my partner's characters (and in some cases, the players as well) getting hostile, angry, and what not, when my character put up some fights (despite being in, you know, a match), which in turn makes the thread's atmosphere became awkward. I'm doing this to have fun, not to care over some imaginary characters' win/lose records and the likes.

Over the years I ended up becoming pretty picky about the stuffs I'm doing as some things no longer interest/excite me like before. This led to an increasing difficulty of finding out partners, which mostly is my fault, I guess. It didn't help that people get busy with their lives (not their fault, of course), and there were people who stopped doing stuffs with me due to creative differences and such (some ended up hating me, but such is life).

The thing is, there's a lot of people who said that they had no problem when I proposed my ideas, but ended up ghosting me mid rp without even saying why, when I already told them to tell me if there are things they didn't like, etc. It happened so often that it kinda killed my motivation, and yet I kept coming back since there's barely any other site to do erotic wrestling roleplay apart from here and AFW. Trying to start over didn't really help. As a newcomer it's pretty hard to get threads going up since a lot of people already overbooked (and even if I'm somewhat put in a waiting list, I'd end up forgotten). Some people didn't even bother replying to private messages with a simple "no" and kept you wondering when you ask them for possible threads.

Maybe the things I want to do is just boring for most people. I get that people prefer back and forth fights. I'm also aware that I've been mostly doing the same stuffs after some point, but in that case why not just say no rather than giving me some false hope.

Which brings me to the question, is this isn't really the place to do the stuffs I like? (One sided hentai match). Should I just move on and try my luck somewhere else, wherever that is?

Some of you will think this is just another "woe is me" post, and that's your opinion. However, I'd like to figure out the stuffs I've been wondering for a long time and not waste everyone's time more than I already have.

If you've been reading up to this point, thank you for taking your time. I find it difficult to express everything I have in mind (english not being my native probably part of the reason), so I might not get all my points across.

I am unsure as to whether I am the best person to answer your concerns. However, they certainly resonated with me, as I'm also pretty new to the community. While I like to think that I've managed to nestle into a nice spot here, I will admit that it took me a few months to get any real traction. It was definitely difficult for me to find my first few RPs on the site. And for a while, I also felt like you did -- getting starting on LAW just felt really daunting for a variety of reasons: Everyone on LAW has a billion threads. Folks are super busy. IRL happens. But I also felt like I was kinda screaming into the void with no chance of hearing back. Like there was very little interest in me as a new community member.

So I kept being persistent (probably to the point of being annoying to a lot of the more established users!). And, after a few people took chances on threading with me, those chances turned into more stories and threads with more people. Now, I'm wherever I'm at today. But that's just what worked for me, and even then it probably took no small amount of luck. The right people finding my threads, me catching them at a good time, stuff like that. So while I'd like to advise you to keep the same persistence, I honestly can't guarantee that it'll work. It might not be how you like to talk with folks. Others might not be in a good spot to respond well to it. Etc.

But it's like you said. Erotic wrestling RP is a pretty niche thing. Lots of us here have very specific interests that, even on a site like this, most of our RPs won't 100% scratch. Some users on here are super into belly stuff. Or certain attires. Or certain toys. But not all of their threads include that kind of stuff. Heck, there's a solid number of users on the site who aren't into outright lewd at all! As you might expect, the users that are very/only into lewd tend not to write very often with the users who aren't into it at all. And that's okay.

Just the same way, sometimes peoples' creative processes or interpersonal dynamics just... don't work well together. And that's okay too. In fact, that's how it goes in real life. Sometimes people just don't work well together.

Like, at the end of the day, this is all just for fun, so as long as you can find a few people that you really enjoy writing with and who really enjoy writing with you? In my opinion, that's all you really need to be concerned about.

So that would be my "advice," to whatever extent that it is helpful: Poke around and find "your people." The people you like. The people you have fun with. And just have fun with those folks! Whenever you find someone new you think you'd have fun with, go ahead and try it, and hopefully they'll become another one of "your people." And sometimes, people won't fit with you and what you wanna do whatsoever. That's fine too!

(And for what it's worth. I've read some of your threads and find them really enjoyable!)

Either way, though. Whatever works for you -- whether it's on this site or elsewhere -- I hope you find it and that you have a great time doing it.

Well I can try to give you my point of view.

If i remember correctly we have done two threads or so in the past and I liked them. Though I like back and forth matches more then just straight up dominating but nonetheless I had a fun time and I am sure that others had a good time as well RPing with you. You are not a bad writer and you really could be a bit more confident because I enjoy what you write.

For your question, if that is the right place for your stuff, I am sure it is. Maybe you just gotta find a better compromis in your threads. Like to not only be set on to only one thing ( you can still have it one sided but with a little more resistance from your site maybe). I am not sure if I put my point accross perfectly but that at least is my opinion.

Also I am sad to hear that you had such bad experience with other players but things like this happens you just gotta hope that you find the right person next time who doesn't ghosts you or else.

You can't account for the decisions other people make. There's nothing wrong with writing what you like! It is what we're all here to do, after all! I think Poet's advice to find your tribe is the right move! Reach out to people you've done threads with and enjoy! Also, poke around on our discord chat more! There are lots of folks in the community, I bet there are some who you haven't had a chance to engage with that would love to tell stories with you!
