First Day Workout (for Highfly)

[Pegasus]

Sarabeth had a tendency to treat wrestling more like a show rather than a legit sport. She could be serious, but she liked messing around and confusing her opponents. Sarabeth looked down a little bit, but glared back at Alania with determination.

“Let me tell you something, Alania. I’ve seen matches in Japan before and I have heard rumors about some of the tough gals around here. It isn’t going to be a cake walk, but that’s why I hardly take it seriously. That’s how I play the game. I know I’m going into matches most likely going to get my ass kicked, but that’s the risk we take as wrestlers. And you lecture me about psychos while you’re best friends with one….what’s her name? Cyber Widow?” Sarabeth spat back at the Amazon.

Alaina crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow. "Excuse you?" She said, not hiding how unhappy she was with Sarabeths attitude. "Thereisa is a rival whom we have a mutual respect for, she is hardly a best friend or anything even close to that. You came to me for help and I gave it to you. Check your attitude at the door. I told ya the truth of things and if you don't like it then don't come to me for help plain and simple." Alaina said. There were times when she never understood the mindset of millenials and this was one such time.

Sarabeth tried matching Alania’s crossed posture, but when Alania laid down the law on her, she retreated into being a scolded child. She fiddled with her thumbs and slumped her shoulders.

“I’m sorry, Alania. I guess being here is overwhelming me and I get a little carried away with myself. I understand I need to mind myself better,” Sarabeth stated as she hugged her mentor trying to genuinely atone for getting angry.

“But maybe an actual match could probably make me learn better and throw me into the deep end. Is Tina doing anything for next week’s show? I can face her. You can even be ringside to supervise me and teach me better. I promise to listen better this time!”

Alaina sighed. "It is all right, I let myself get too fired up as well and I am sorry for that." Alaina said. "I was young once too but it was a while ago, sometimes I forget what it is like being new." Alaina added as she kept listening to Sarabeth.

"Tina? I could put in the suggestion and hope that the brass listens. It could be fun but I work with Tina so if you want this you will be out there on your own. I can talk to you all you want afterward but during the match? It will just be Tina and yourself out there." Alaina said wondering if that was still going to be acceptable to Sarabeth.

“I know I’ll mostly be out there by myself, but I just want you to see what I can do up close. Tina’s a tough customer and a former Middleweight Champion, but like you said, I’ll need to handle girls like her at some point and you want me to be ready for tough challenges,” Sarabeth stated.

Sarabeth knew what she was getting herself involved with. Tina may have been on a slump in her career, but she does have her skills to back her up. She’s worked with Alania tons of times and is no slouch herself becoming the inaugural LAW Middleweight Champion when the belt was first introduced. Many saw her as a stepping stone to further their own careers, but Sarabeth just wanted to test herself against a future main eventer. The fact that she was even throwing out this challenge was a step in the right direction for her training.

"Ok, I will see what I can do then. Get ready because this will not be easy by any means." Alaina said. She would follow through with this and do all she could to see if she could get that match set up. Tina would be itching to get back in the ring to try to right the ship for sure and Sarabeth would be in her way to getting back on track but it would be good for her to get a taste of a full speed Tina in the ring.
