L.A.W. - League of Anime Wrestling

The first impulse Kate had was to say they were both too kind, instead, she stuttered and chuckled nervously, realizing it could be seen as rude, then her thoughts spirling a little. Tina and Alaina were pro's, real walking legends of the sport and they said she was good, and logically she could support that with her prior accomplishments in boxing and grappling but something just felt off. On the one hand, she was new to pro wrestling, on the other, here she was being told she was good by people she looked up to.

It was all a bit much to process and realizing she was silent for a bit long she would cough. "Thanks, it really means a lot to hear it from the two of you." She said with a shy smile "I'll try my best not to disappoint you." She said before chuckling a bit "But I'll need some rest, I haven't had my ass kicked so much in ages." She said before looking at Tina "For the record, I really don't think I could pull it off again, you are so fast, I felt like if I just slipped once I wouldn't be able to do anything." Then she looked at Alaina "And god I'm glad we finished that test of strength when we did, a second more and I would have just crumpled like paper." She said in a more jovial tone, wanting to deflate the atmosphere a little as it felt a bit tense coming off of an intense sparring.

"Okay...." Tina said still not sure if Kate was delusional, or hiding how good she was sixth false modesty. She couldn't quite figure this woman out. She was curious to see what happened to her in the ring in a LAW arena as well as how she acted backstage there before she made any judgements.

"Oh? Well I never get bullied by women under 200lbs especially by women lighter than me." Alaina said with a raised eyebrow. This was worrying as she was going into matches coming up against bigger, younger heavyweights. If Kate gave her this much trouble she had work to do. Did Kate just give up and let Alaina win or did Alaina genuinely have her beat? It was enough to put doubt into the mind of the old wrestler. "You did really well Kate, we look forward to seeing you in official LAW wrestling action." Alaina said with a smile as Kate bid them farewell and the duo also went to the locker room to change.

Kate hoped that what she said would go at least some way to lessen the tension but it didn't seem to have the effect she wanted, both women still seeming apprehensive making Kate wonder if she did or said something that could upset them. Those doubts would stay with her for a while after as well as what both women said about how well she did though she was honest every time she said she didn't think she was that good after all this time some doubt would settle in her mind, especially given who was saying so this time.

She would remain in the gym for a while longer, not training so much as trying to recover. Once the dizziness and weakness in her body subsided enough for her to feel comfortable with going out on her own she would also change and leave the gym.
