Somehow, someway, Alizeh had managed to kick out of Lily's pinfall attempt. Shocking just about everyone in the arena and creating a frenzy among the fans as they cheered, booed, and everything in between, wondering just how far Alizeh or Lily would go to win this match!
Even so as Alizeh started to pick herself up along the ropes, trying to get in a position that she could retaliate from it would appear that Lily would get her bearings first and break into a run towards the green haired wrestler! But not to connect directly with her, instead going past her, spinning out of the ring and swinging her legs around to deliver a tiger feint kick to the Emerald Storm!
"GUAH!" Alizeh cried out in pain as she was knocked backwards by the impact, landing back first on the mat but going with the momentum of the impact she'd roll through.
Thankfully Alizeh still had the benefit of adrenaline pounding through her system, keeping her hyper aware of everything going on around her. As such using this momentum she managed to stay up on her feet, looking at Lily as the woman stood back up and bull rushed her, swinging her arm out as she did so to try and drive a forearm strike into Lily's chest, fully prepared and ready to engage in a full on slug fest with the woman!

Lily's pale skin glistened with thick sweat, betraying how tired she was. Speed and endurance were her strongest points, but the Black Crow was not ready for such a wild pace of the match, which is why she spent much more energy than she expected. Every move now felt like torture to her, but even that wasn't enough to make her stop.
To the loud murmur of the audience, she slipped her legs between the ropes and kicked Alizeh right in the face. Due to the force of the kick, the ground went out from under the green-haired woman's feet, causing her to roll backwards. It seemed that everything was fine and that Lily was able to maintain the lead in the match. But as soon as her feet touched the mat, she discovered that this was not the case.
As if she hadn't felt the effects of the kick, her opponent took a low-starting position and then rushed towards the Englishwoman. Although Lily managed to notice Alizeh waving her arm, she did not have time to react to it. The Emerald Storm's forearm slammed into her chest, causing the brunette's eyes to widen in pain.
“Grrrhhh!!”
Lily staggered back, covering her chest with her hands. Her lungs felt like they were filled with flames, and it was difficult for her to take even a short breath. She was desperately sorting through the options in her head, trying to find the one that would bring her victory. But every scenario she managed to think of in that short moment inevitably ended in her failure. Did she really have no chance left?
The Black Crow looked at her rival.
And as soon as her eyes met Alizeh's, she immediately remembered the green-haired woman's words that Lily's efforts were not enough, that she was sure that the brunette was only number two here. That she had no chance from the very beginning. Lily gritted her teeth. At that moment, she didn't look like an emotionless doll, at that moment she looked like a fighter who wanted to win no matter what it cost her.
“If there is no winning scenario...” she mentally said to herself. “Then I'll just beat her until she falls!”
Her amber eyes glinted in the spotlight. The Black Crow abruptly filled her lungs, inhaling air through her mouth and nose at the same time. Using her breathing technique for the third time, she put everything on the line. It was as if thousands of needles were running through her body. She got just one minute, and after that minute her body would no longer be able to continue fighting. But it didn't matter, because she intended to use this last minute to win.
Refusing to give up, Lily took a step forward, rushing towards her opponent. Placing her right foot slightly to the left of her left foot, she intended to turn around on her axis while swinging her left arm. Like a black tornado, she was about to gain momentum and direct it to her left hand to hit Alizeh right in the chest with a spinning knife edge chop!

This match had hit a fever pitch now. Neither Alizeh nor Lily were willing to back down and with all other avenues seemingly exhausted it seemed both women had silently agreed to try and settle things with a good old fashion slug fest!
Lily's kick hadn't been enough to keep Alizeh down so she got back up and bashed Lily's chest in with a forearm smash! Likewise Lily took the blow, but rather than fall she used the momentum, taking a step back before rushing in, those amber eyes glinting now, ironically only exciting Alizeh further and making her smile despite the grave situation the two were in.
Naturally the smile was wiped a bit as the woman spun and unleashed a spinning knife edge chop into Alizeh's chest! "UGNH!" Alizeh cried out in pain, wincing from the blow and being forced backwards before sucking a breath in and smiling again. "Now we're talking!
Give me all you got Lily!" Alizeh yelled, closing the distance between them as quick as she could, swinging her arm up to drive another shot into Lily's face! Something she'd do again, after Lily responded, looking to get into a rapid series of strikes akin to a hockey fight against the dark crow until one of them couldn't take it anymore!

Every second counts for Lily now. Using her breathing technique for the third time, she risked everything she had for the first time since the beginning of her career. It wasn't like her, the cold-blooded and calculating Lily never takes risks, always choosing only reliable and proven options. But not this time. This time, the circumstances have developed in such a way that emotions have taken the place of calculations and composure.
The edge of the Black Crow's palm slammed into Alizeh's chest with such force that the green-haired woman let out a scream, staggering back at the same time. However, less than a second later, she seemed to forget about this strike, instead first calling Lily out to give her everything she has, and then taking a step towards the brunette.
Before the Englishwoman could react, the Emerald Storm's forearm slammed into her face. Lily's head jerked to the side with such force that several large drops of sweat flew off her face. The brunette staggered, but then left her right leg slightly to the side, regaining her balance.
All her life, Lily didn't care at all about the opinions of others about her. She didn't care what they thought of her, who they thought she was, or how they looked at her. But for some reason, when she looked at her rival, a flame seemed to flare up inside her. She was terribly annoyed by the fact that this woman considered herself to be several heads taller.
“Grrrhhh!!” A groan of pain and fatigue seeped through her teeth.
Taking a step forward, the Black Crow threw her left hand forward, not to hit Alizeh, but to grab her by the back of the head. On any other day, she wouldn't have given a damn about who the Emerald Storm thought she was, but right now, she wasn't going to stand for it. Putting as much strength and speed into her right arm as possible, she threw it forward to hit Alizeh in the jaw with a hard elbow strike and thereby let her know that she had no right to look down on Lily.

Alizeh was breathing heavily as she and Lily went to war with one another, beating the hell out of each other with each every strike against one another, refusing to back down for even a single moment! Managing to strike Lily backwards with a heavy forearm strike Alizeh invited the woman to come back with everything she had against the Emerald Storm. Something that the Black Crow was certainly willing to take Alizeh up on.
Wincing softly as she felt her hair grabbed by Lily the green haired wrestler only had a moment to brace herself as Lily's forearm came swinging around to smash into her full force! "Ugh!" Alizeh groaned, leaning back a bit from the blow, tilting back seemingly about to fall over... Only for her to plant her feet down at the last second, rearing her hand up as she did so to grab Lily by the back of her head as well so the two were in a mutual grip with each other!
Growling in determination as she lifted her other arm up Alizeh swing it forward herself to deliver a forearm strike of her own at full speed and force! If it connected then Alizeh would rear her arm back to try and go for a second blow! Regardless if Lily tried to hit her back in turn, after all, they were both running on fumes, so all she had to do was try and outlast Lily and hit her with everything to win this!

When her elbow slammed into Alizeh's jaw, the green-haired woman's head jerked to the side and her body tilted back. Lily was even willing to let go of the back of her rival's head to let her fall. However, then something happened that made her amber eyes widen.
The American woman threw her hand forward, grabbing the back of Lily's head and using it as a support. This not only allowed her to stay on her feet, but also to make a wide swing with her free hand. Alizeh's forearm slammed into the Black Crow's head, causing her ears to ring. Lily staggered, but did not let go of the back of her rival's head. And this became an excuse for Alizeh to send another forearm strike to the Englishwoman's head.
“Gguaaahhhh!!!”
Lily's hand loosened involuntarily and she let go of the back of the green-haired woman's head. When her head jerked to the side, a few drops of blood flew out of her split lip. Her mind blurred, and she began to lose control of her body. Her legs trembled and her right knee began to sink down. A few more seconds and this knee will touch the mat.
“I have almost no strength left...” sounded in the brunette's head.
Using her unique breathing technique for the third time, she got the last minute, after which her body simply would not be able to handle such tension. And now she only has ten seconds left. Never in her life had the Black Crow wanted to win as much as she did today. The emotions that had awakened in her seemed to be pushing her forward. And so she couldn't give up now. This will be her last strike, she knows it. All or nothing. Victory or defeat.
Closing her eyes for a moment, she recalled everything she had learned on the way to this day. She went through all these training sessions just for this moment. This match helped her to awaken what was deep inside her, and therefore she must make sure that all this was not in vain.
She clenched her right fist, focusing on the movement of her body. Everything has to be perfect for this strike. Every movement must be synchronized, only then it will work. Her legs stopped shaking and her knee hovered five centimeters from the mat.
The black Crow raised her head, her amber eyes sparkling as brightly as the sun on a cloudless summer day. With the last of her strength, she straightened her legs, simultaneously throwing her right arm up in a wide arc. Combining the speed of her arm and the speed of her body, she intended to send a right uppercut so fast to Alizeh's chin that it might seem to some that black lightning began to sparkle around her hand. It wasn't just an uppercut, it was her fastest and most powerful punch, which she called the Crow's peck! With this punch, she put everything she had on the line.

It was on last dregs of strength that Alizeh was swinging at Lily, hoping almost desperately that she could finally force the crow to bend back and get dropped from the strikes. However Lily was just as stubborn as Alizeh it seemed and refused to go down, even if it appeared she was on the brink of it.
Just as Lily was about to drop to her knees, a position that Alizeh could easily take the victory from Lily would suddenly surge upwards, faster than Alizeh could process and swing a hand up as she did so, delivering a brutal uppercut, a picture perfect money shot that sent spittle from Alizeh's mouth, immediately her gaze became unfocused for a moment, eyes crossing as she began tilting backwards, seemingly knocked out from the blow!
However just a moment before she could collapse all the way back Alizeh's own hand would shoot up to seize Lily's wrist, clutching it tightly, it wouldn't be enough to keep her upright but it bought her a few seconds and that's all Alizeh needed.
Bringing her leg up into the air and over Lily's arm in a instant Alizeh would make sure that her foot pressed against Lily's face. If successful then Alizeh would stop fighting the inevitable, let her momentum and weight carry her, and her opponent down, using the drop and placement of her foot to smash Lily with an inverted stomp face breaker!
However any fan of Alizeh knew what this was. For it wasn't only a simple reversal or random move pulled out of her ass by desperation. It was a prelude to the strongest move in Alizeh's arsenal as the greenette began twist and turning on the mat, wrapping her leg fully around Lily's arm as and keeping it down as she rose to a kneeling position and reached for Lily's leg, grabbing it and yanking it up and over her shoulder for her finisher the Emerald Twilight!

Speed was definitely Lily's best quality, she was undoubtedly the fastest in Victoria's team, outstripping even every member of the golden trio. And it was no accident. As she has said many times, physics cannot be fooled. When it comes to punching or kicking, speed is much more important than mass. That's why Lily knew that with the right skill she could make her punch much more powerful than even the biggest heavyweight's.
When her fist smashed into her opponent's chin at supersonic speed, the Black Crow was sure that it was a victory. As her knuckles collided with the green-haired woman's skull, an eerie click reverberated through the arena. Alizeh's head snapped back and a small amount of blood flew out of her mouth. She began to fall, and the corners of Lily's lips lifted slightly. She did it. She was able to win the match. The match she had been waiting for for so long. The match that finally allowed her to awaken her emotions. The only match she really wanted to win with all her heart.
But, apparently, not this time.
Quite unexpectedly, the Black Crow felt something squeeze her hand. Normally, it wouldn't have taken her long to realize that it was Alizeh's hands, but now she was so tired that her brain simply didn't have time to process this information. She just couldn't believe it.
Grabbing the wrist of the Black Crow, Alizeh remained on her feet, and a moment later she threw her leg up, pressing her foot against Lily's face. Even at that moment, the corners of the brunette's lips were still slightly raised. It might seem silly to some, but in fact she just still couldn't grasp the fact that she had missed out on victory.
The green-haired woman leaned back, pulling Lily with her. The Black Crow's face smashed into the Emerald Storm's foot. A resonance of such force passed through her body that in another situation she would surely have bounced off her opponent's leg and collapsed on her back. However, Alizeh continued to hold her hand, causing the Englishwoman to fall face-first onto the mat.
“Ggggg... hhhhh...” she didn't have the strength to scream, but even so, a small painful groan escaped from Lily's mouth.
Under her face formed a small pool of blood, oozing out of her nose and torn lips. At that moment, Lily knew that she had lost because she could not move a single part of her body. It was a miracle that she remained conscious, considering how exhausted she was. However, the match wasn't over for Black Crow yet as her opponent had prepared something else for her. The Emerald Storm, holding Lily's arm, grabbed and bent her leg, thereby locking her in an extremely painful submission hold.
The brunette's haggard face contorted from the agony that filled her body. It was the worst possible situation because even her free leg was dangling in the air. Lily had only one limb left that she could use, but the voice in her head that usually told her the next move made it clear to her that she had lost.
“Black Crow, you give up?" Sounded the voice of the referee, who knelt down next to Lily.
There are matches where you have no right to lose. It was just such a match for Lily. The fact that Alizeh never doubted her victory from the start, seeing herself as head and shoulders above Lily, struck a deep chord within the brunette. To prove otherwise, she threw everything she had at this woman, giving it all much more than in any of her other matches. But even that wasn't enough. Because of this, Lily's heart was torn apart. The defeat was inevitable. But then why even now…
“I... can't... lose... I... don't want... to lose...” sounded in her head.
Instead of answering the referee, the Black Crow raised her shaking left hand. She threw that one useful limb forward, pressing it to the mat. She clenched her teeth, but even so, she continuously continued to groan in pain. The image in front of her eyes began to pulse as pain and fatigue began to overwhelm her. But even so, she tried to pull herself forward. Yet, she only moved an inch.
“Mmmmm... gggg... hhhhh...” she groaned painfully.
“Lily, you give up?!” The referee repeated the question more insistently.
It was obvious to the striped shirt, and most likely to everyone in the arena, that Lily would never be able to reach the ropes. She knew it too, but she still threw her free hand forward once more. This time, she didn't even move an inch, but only a few centimeters. What was the point? She didn't want to lose. She didn't want to lose the only match she really wanted to win.
Under the pressure of the agony in her body, she raised her hand for the third time and moved it forward. Her hand hovered over the mat for a few seconds, which made some people hold their breath. And then her hand fell lifelessly down. It was all over after her last punch. Lily's body has exhausted all possible resources. Her willpower and purest desire for victory allowed her to hold on for a little longer, but nothing could help her anymore. Being locked in her rival's submission hold, Lily fainted from exhaustion.

Despite the exhaustion settling in and pain coursing through her jaw from Lily's last ditch effort attack Alizeh was still able to react in time to catch Lily's hand and use the devastation of her foe's own attack to her advantage, catching Lily and pulling her down into none other than Alizeh's submission finisher!
Gritting her teeth as she pulled the Emerald Twilight hold deeper and deeper against Lily, trying to make it so unbearable that she'd finally tap out and end this Alizeh almost didn't notice the sudden lack of motion from her foe who as soon as the hold was locked in she tried and failed to struggle against it.
Even so Alizeh was able to open her eyes at the lack of resistance and noticed that Lily had stopped moving before looking up at the ref who quickly moved in, grabbing Lily's arm and lifting it up before dropping it down. Then doing it again to the same result, and finally a third time where it once again fell to the mat limp. Meaning one thing and one thing only.
"Ring the bell she's out!" The ref declared, turning to Alizeh prepared to make her release the hold but the green haired wrestler was one step ahead, releasing Lily's limbs and falling backwards in exhaustion, but smiling proudly in victory. She did it, she had won, and in doing so proved herself worthy of a shot at the open weight title.
Sitting up a bit Alizeh ignored the ref as she turned her focus back on Lily, gently turning the woman over onto her back and sitting her up, holding her gently for a moment and resting her head against Lily's own, whispering a hushed thanks for the match before gently laying the Crow down as if she was a princess.
Then and only then would Alizeh push herself back to her feet, wincing a bit as she did so Alizeh would finally allow the ref to raise her hand up in victory. Despite this though Alizeh's attention was glued in one direction. The eyes of the open weight champion sitting in the front row.
Gently pulling her arm away from the ref Alizeh would slowly walk out of the ring and drop down to the floor below, but she wasn't making her exit from the ring and instead approached the barricade where Astrid was until the two women were face to face.
"I'm coming for the belt Astrid..." Alizeh said softly, leaning forward to get as close as possible, not to be aggressive or meaning her words to be cruel or arrogant, but to make a promise and show how serious she was about living to it.

Perhaps the only good thing about losing consciousness in the ring is that you don't feel anything after that. In Lily's case it was especially ironic. She didn't know that she had entered the dream world due to complete exhaustion. She didn't know that the referee had raised her hand three times and three times her hand had fallen lifelessly to the mat. She didn't know that the bell rang after that. She didn't know that she had lost the only match she really wanted to win.
Someone could probably say that Lily was even lucky in a way that she lost consciousness, but the truth was that it was just a reprieve. She will have to wake up. And when that happens, everything that has happened will fall on her like an avalanche. Not gradually, but all at once.
She began to come to her senses the moment her opponent forced her to take a sitting position. The Englishwoman opened her eyes a crack, but she still couldn't see anything around her except a white veil, not to mention the fact that she didn't understand what was going on at all. Even when Alizeh put her down on the mat again, it was just a basic tactile sensation for Lily, nothing more, she was in too bad a condition.
“Lily...” Victoria said faintly.
Astrid glanced at her manager. She had never seen her like this before. This woman was called the Shark with Glasses for a reason, she always knew how to keep her cool and very few things could make her go soft. The hands on Victoria's lap were clenched into fists, and her body was trembling slightly. Her black eyes were fixed on the ring, and it was easy to read the sorrow in those eyes. Astrid had no doubts about how the manager was feeling at that moment.
“Go,” the blonde said, keeping her voice as even as possible. “She needs you a lot more than I do right now.”
Victoria didn't say a word. She only closed her eyes for a second, forcing herself to stop trembling in her body. After that, she got up from her seat, took off her shoes so that the heels wouldn't get in her way, and headed backstage as fast as possible.
Astrid sighed heavily, she was also overwhelmed with emotions at that moment. Maybe Lily wasn't as close to her as Charlotte or Nerissa, but still. However, the blonde could not afford to show these emotions now. This night is not over yet, she has a title match ahead of her, so she must remain steadfast. Besides, she felt like she knew exactly what was going to happen next.
She returned her gaze to the ring just as Alizeh rose to her feet and the referee raised her hand above her head, officially declaring her the winner of the match. And then the Emerald Storm turned to the reigning openweight champion. It seems Astrid was not mistaken in her assumptions. The winner of the match left the ring, but instead of heading to the ramp, she went straight to the Golden Dragon.
Even when the only obstacle between them was the metal barricade, not a single muscle twitched on the face of the descendant of the great Vikings. Looking Alizeh straight in the eyes, she let the green-haired woman make her statement. Under the growing roar of the audience, Astrid stared into the Emerald Storm's eyes for a few more seconds, and then rose from her seat. While the openweight title sparkled on her waist, she loomed over Alizeh due to the significant height difference. Yes, she saw the determination in the green-haired woman's gaze, but she met that gaze without any fear. Finally, after a few more seconds of staredown, a smile appeared on Astrid's lips.
“Good match, Alizeh,” she admitted. “But don't flatter yourself, you don't have a title one!” Lightning flashed in her lavender eyes before she added with a hint. "Yet."
Lily's consciousness finally returned to normal enough, as if after rebooting the system. The brunette blinked several times, forcing the image in front of her eyes to stop doubling. Only then she realized that she was lying on her back and looking at the ceiling of the arena. As soon as she realized this, her hearing returned. The first thing she heard was the hubbub of the audience. This was more than enough to draw a conclusion about what had happened.
It was enough, but Lily refused to accept it.
Bending her left leg at the knee, she took a sitting position, immediately grimacing at the pain in every cell of her body. The referee immediately got down on one knee next to her, asking the Englishwoman if she needed medical help. Without saying a word, Lily shook her head negatively, then looked around. All the eyes of the audience were directed somewhere to the side. Following them, the Black Crow saw that Alizeh and Astrid were standing face to face.
It was at this moment that she could no longer deny the truth.
“I... lost...” she said out loud, as softly as if she hadn't said it at all.
Her lower lip trembled.
She felt something inside her.
In the place that ordinary people used to call the soul.
And it was nothing but unthinkable devastation.
But... there was something besides that. Why did she start seeing poorly again? Is she losing consciousness again? Lily raised her right hand to her eyes. Something wet. No, it can't be. She bit her lower lip to stop what was coming.
Ignoring the referee's protests, Lily rolled under the bottom rope. When she landed on her feet, she staggered, but managed to keep her balance. At first, she wanted to literally run up the ramp so that no one would see her face. But then she realized that at that moment, almost no one cared about her, all eyes were on Alizeh and Astrid. So there was no reason for her to rush through the pain in her body.
Walking up the ramp, the brunette caught herself thinking that now she understands what Karen and Margarita have told her so many times. These girls had to leave the arena with defeat more than once, and each time they felt bitterness. It was the first time for Lily. And now she understood how terrible it was. For her, this match was much more important than any title match, and she failed. Realizing this, she felt a lump in her throat, and it was with this feeling that she disappeared behind the curtains.
It didn't take her long to walk through the waiting room. As soon as she was in the dark corridor, the sounds of the arena became noticeably quieter. Lily took a step forward. Then another one. And another one. Then she stopped. Her breathing quickened and she felt dizzy. She leaned against the wall with her right hand, at the same time placing her left hand on her chest.
“What is this... why is it so...” she mumbled, trying to figure out what was happening to her. "So..."
“Lily...”
She didn't even hear Victoria approach her. The brunette glanced at her manager. Even in the dimness of the corridor, she could see how worried the other Englishwoman's face was. Did she come here for her? Even though she was supposed to stay with Astrid?
“Victoria...” said Lily in a slightly trembling voice. “I... I feel... I feel... pain... right here...” she looked down at her left hand, resting directly on her heart. “Why... does it... hurt... so much?”
Victoria took a step forward and hugged her charge as tightly as only a loving mother could hug.
“I... didn't want to... let you down...” Lily's hands dropped down lifelessly, and the timbre of her voice changed noticeably. “I... didn't want to... let myself down..." she sniffed. “But... I let... everyone down...”
“No,” Victoria hugged the brunette even tighter. “No, Lily, you didn't let anyone down, it's okay... you were so great today...”
Drip... drip drip… drip drip drip…
The sound of tears falling on the floor made Victoria's heart clench.
“Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!”
It turns out that...
Even an emotionless doll may cry.
