Athena Wonder vs. Scarlaheart - Red and Red Don't Mix

Athena was forced to let go of Scarlaheart after taking the headbutt earlier, and now, despite her in a much worse condition, Scarlaheart decided to taunt Athena, which left the blonde veteran fuming. "You little..." Seeing red at the moment, she knew that she couldn't leave such remark unpunished, so as Scarlaheart was at the ropes, Athena would come over to her, extending out her arm.

Athena was planning to hit Scarlaheart with a clothesline, and she hoped that the impact of the strike should be enough to send her over the top rope and out of the ring as a punishment for being so cheeky. Of course, this could be a trap, though Athena didn't seem to care about that.

Maria’s body felt as though her muscles had grown thin. The infection of strain arrested her to the rope’s embrace, where the most vital force she could omit was her gravity for the moment. Still nowhere near a solid formula, nor could she strike when they were recovering. But when opportunities don’t show themselves, they are to be forged, which materialized with the help of Maria’s wit that earned their ire. Forward they came, and Maria tensed from leg to neck. She flushed weight, and her palm grew an armour of sweat. There was only instinct to utilize and total body collapse to drop towards the canvas. The rope was tugged as her grip remained. It was hoped that Athena’s brazen approach could see them dispose of themselves. If not, then this game of possum just turned on its head.

Athena ran towards Scarlaheart with her arm outstretched with the intention of hitting her with a clothesline to push her out of the ring. But as she was about to reach her opponent, Athena saw Scarlaheart suddenly lowering herself while still holding the top rope, and Athena couldn't stop her own momentum, which resulted in her tumbling over the top rope and almost falling down onto the floor outside. Only thanks to her quick thinking that she managed to stop herself from falling as she managed to grab the top rope in the nick of time, preventing herself from planting herself down onto the floor outside.

Still, Athena was in a precarious position as she steadied herself on the apron. Her footing was uneven, and her weight was supported only by her arm tugging at the top rope. She tried to keep herself steady there, though Scarlaheart might be able to capitalize on this situation if she so desired.

The rope dipped down and ate into her fingers until they pinched.

An arm slipped and hung, sprawled across the canvas as she stood on the back of her ankles, almost horizontal as she clung. But Athena didn’t go over. She peeked up, rolled her eyes, and pointed. “Errr… I would’ve appreciated it more if you fell off my ring.” She said with a sigh, now walking her feet underneath the rest of her body to stand lateral, that arm still hooked on the rope. “Guess I should knock you off…”

That was a shame, indeed. They had to make her run, well, more like stumble back, further and further until her back pushed against the opposite ropes. Her feet picked up into a full-blown sprint like the steam-powered engines in her legs had exploded, rocketed her forward to deliver one payload. A shoulder - jutted as she leaned, then threw it towards Athena’s gut, between the middle and top rope, to see if she could take them both to the outside.

With Athena trying to keep herself steady on the apron with only one hand on the rope to keep her from falling down, she was in a rather precarious position. She struggled to keep herself from falling, though it seemed that Scarlaheart decided to fix this problem by running towards her and jumping through the ropes so that she could hit her right at her midsection with her shoulder.

"GAHHH!!!"

The hit caused Athena to lose her grip on the rope, and she ended up falling off the apron and landing outside the ring. Though from the look of it, it seemed that Scarlaheart might end up joining her outside the ring as well, which would no doubt cause some damage on her as well. Still, Athena ended up taking the full brunt of it as she writhed on the floor outside the ring.

The spear drove them to ringside. Maria’s front splashed, her cheek ground against her forearm to bear the brunt. The tumble threw her onto her back, her arm threw across and sprawled out at her side, and she folded the other over her forehead. She groaned, sore from the crash; ached in several points in her abdomen, legs, and chest. Together they could lay, at least for a while, until Maria scraped her fingers at the barricade. That swipe was followed by another, except her opposite arm as she turned on her side, reached higher as she pushed on the ground to prop her upper body, to find purchase on the barricade’s lip, then tug and fit the edge beneath her pit.

“Feeling old yet?” She asked with a smirk. Standing was her greatest challenge now, getting those wobbly meat-and-joint contraptions to straighten, then drag them beneath her feet. The slightest bend gave her aches, like someone from above pushed her back down. They were dead weight, so, used that by lifting her foot and stomping at their body. Wherever it may land, the chest, abdomen, back of the head; aim was such a lavish luxury that Maria couldn’t afford.

Athena was thrown off the apron thanks to Scarlaheart spearing her out of the ring. Sprawled outside the ring on the floor, she groaned, trying to regain clarity, but the pain from being tackled out of the ring sure made it hard for the veteran to think straight. Meanwhile, despite her being affected by ending up outside, Scarlaheart managed to get herself back on her feet, and she was planning something on her.

While Athena was still down, she became an easy target for Scarlaheart who proceeded to stomp at her body, causing her to cry out in pain. The stomp hit her right in her chest, and this left the veteran gasping and coughing. While they were outside, the referee started counting for the count out, and if both of them remained outside until the count of ten, the match would be over with both wrestlers counted out.

"ONE!"

The stomp shot found its home, rebounded and landed on the ground. She flexed her back, stretched all the knots in her back, smothered the pain in her abdomen and the kick loosened up her legs. Save for them, of course. A hand reached out to clutch their hair, pull them to sit up, then apply a second hand to try and turn them around, face the crowd where she can whack their cheek with a few slaps.

“Lookie-loo at her. You’re looking at an Athena Wondersaurus-Rex! A common loser species to a Reinhardt like myself.”

After she was done, if she managed to finish and deliver those smug slaps, she’d pull back then whip them forward, to see their face slam against the barricade before the eyes of many who enjoyed or scorned her little gag. Didn’t matter much when she was in control. And there was plenty of time before they’d be counted out.

“TWO!”

Athena gasped as she was still outside the ring, and now, Scarlaheart decided to taunt her, even slapping her face disrespectfully. There was a burning desire in Athena to make the younger woman pay for such disrespect, but that had to wait until they returned into the ring. At the same time, the referee continued counting.

"FOUR!"

After the slaps, Athena was then whipped towards the barricade, and she was sent there face first, causing the mature woman to cry out in pain upon collision. "AAOGHHH!!" She slumped against the barricade, her head in disarray. Things didn't look too good for the blonde veteran, and her opponent would be free to do whatever she wanted to her.

"FIVE!"

Ah, like striking an inflatable doll at a mall. A little stiffer on the hand, but it felt even better. She should’ve given them one more, but a bash against the barricade was perhaps the magnum opus. To see that woman crumpled there, weak and unmoving. Such was the fate of those who challenged Reinhardts. “If you think I’m tossing you back in the ring, forget it. I already spent enough energy on your fossil bones, so enjoy getting counted out.”

Maria shoved her boot against their shoulder to try and see them topple to the ground. A hand waved in front of herself, and the other stretched outward as she bowed, dipped her head, then turned around. “SIX!” The referee called, and Maria strode to the apron and threw herself onto it, rolled beneath the bottom rope, then used them to climb back to her feet, where she stuck her hands up, pointing to herself as she walked the ring’s edges.
