Joana had been trapped in bearhugs before, and while they could be painful, they weren't usually big deal. But this one was different. The sheer pressure of this hold made it hard for her to breathe, and it felt like her eyes might pop out anytime soon. She threw her head back, crying out in pain as she struggled to escape. But there was no escape.
"HNNGAAHHHHH!!!" Joana cried out in pain some more. Tears started to appear in her eyes as the pain started ravaging her mind. She knew that if she remained in the hold for long, something horrible would happen to her. "S-SUBMIT!! I-I SUBMIT!!!" Joana yelled, finally submitting to her opponent. The sheer force of the hold was slowly driving her mad, and she wanted Mai to release her as soon as possible.

Mai heard the cries of submission and immediately let go, as much as some people would think, she was no brute. The bell rang and the match was over. The ref raised Mai's hand in victory. Mai's chest swelled with pride as a remix of her homeland's anthem blared over the speaker system. The song, called "Awaken, Romanian!" was an intense, rather angry song, but also very inspiring, somewhat like France's famed "La Marseillaise" One verse in particular gave Mai goosebumps to this day:
Now or never let us give proof to the world
That in these veins a Roman blood still flows,
That in our chests we hold a name with pride,
Victorious in battles, the name of Trajan!
Mai looked over at her defeated opponent, "Thank you for a great match, and I wish you all the best in everything you do. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go find Isaiah and ride him until he can't move for three days. La revedere!" Mai said with an almost whimsical grin as she beagn to leave the ring.

After submitting, Joana was released from the hold, and she slumped against the mat, recovering from the pain of being squeezed like a toothpaste. She just remained there, grunting as she covered her eyes with her forearm. Having to listen to that song didn't improve her mood at all. She just grunted as a response to Mai's words, not really acknowledging her as she sulked in her defeat.
After Mai made her exit, Joana quietly made hers as well, heading backstage so that she could recover. She hoped that next time she faced someone like her, she would emerge victorious.
Winner: Mai Roma via submission!
