Each slap of the referee's hand against the mat saw a sharp, determined nod from Bandita. Her stomach knotted after the first count. After the second count, she arched her agonized back to press her body just a little harder into Cassidy's. The third count hits, and she feels like she could faint.
All of that tension, instantly released. Her eyes wide, her smile brightening despite the exhaustion, and she peels her upper-chest area off of Cassidy's to perk. Her left hand remains steadfast on Cassidy's brow to keep her pinned down, but her right arm raises with a fist.
"YEEAAAH!"
Even after the excited bellow, she remains poised like that. Cameras flash like glittering jewels in the sea of darkness; her music begins pumping, and the announcer's voice cuts in.
"Your winner by pinfall! BAAAANDIIITAAAA!"
The girl drops herself heavily against Cassidy again, this time including her head. She presses her face against her sweaty cheek, lips brought in close to her ear with every word hot against her skin. "Thanks.. for not holding back.. you're amazing." She turns her face to press her cheek into hers briefly before adding, "Just.. wanted you to know 'dat..!"
The referee is, by now, pawing at Bandita's shoulder to try to coax her off of the American. At last, she detangles their legs and rolls over onto the mat, sits up, and lifts to her full height. The referee takes her right wrist and raises the first, indicating she won. And in the meantime, Bandita's left hand moves to her lips, blowing heartfelt kisses out over the audience.
It was an intense match. And near the end, she thought she was finished. But some things are worth fighting past what the body says is possible. And proving to the LAW management that they hadn't made a mistake investing in her, making sure her family is taken care of... she'd dig to unknown depths for that.
Everything is on the line here in LAW for her. The brilliantly smiling face, sweaty and battered as she is, may look youthful and zealous. But she has the weight of the world on her narrow shoulders. Not only her career and future to fight for, both everyone who's taken a chance on her.
