It was over.
Cersei knew that before Bast had even locked in the hold. She knew it the moment her sister got the better of the woman and took back the match. Lauren had made a better show of it than she had expected her to - clearly, her research had come up short today. But, in the end, there was only one outcome to this match, and the sole question was how they would get there. Now they had that answer.
Bast eased up the hold after a couple moments of Lauren tapping, then jerked to the side and threw her off. Her breathing was starting to settle, but it would be a moment before she was at zero again. She needed to rest, needed to relax, needed to-
”Calaso!” She shot up and rolled under the ropes, not even waiting for the referee to raise her hand, making her way to where her sister waited near the barricade. She was on her feet, that was a good sign, but that hit was making her wince with every step. ”Are you okay?”
”Yeah,” Cersei nodded, took a step, then bit back a short cry. ”More or less. Just need to lay down for a while, is all.” She held up her arm for Bast to support her, which her sister promptly did, helping her limp her way up the ramp. ”Good job. Good job.”
With Cersei supported, Bast made her way up the ramp, taking it slow for her sister’s sake and ignoring the chorus of hate that was coming from the crowd. She spared one last look towards the ring, then slipped between the curtains and into the darkness.
