Amy Henderson vs Finlay Zeffer - The Match That Started It All

As the blonde girl continued to pry at Finlay's arm, a sharp knee came in and sank into her gut.

"OOAH!" gasped the girl in blue as she got even more winded than before.

Being momentarily stunned but the hit, Amy couldn't counter him as her grabbed her hand and lifted her up for a pumphandle suplex. Then, she came down to the mat with a BAM!

"GAH!"

Amy smashed into the mat and writhed for a moment before coming to a halt and lying still on the mat. She heaved big breaths in an attempt to regain all that lost air, but was unable to move otherwise for the time being.

Finlay too panted a bit, Amy was certainly no lightweight and the match itself had been a bit rough on both competitors. But he was far from down and out. Amy however was down. Grabbing her leg while she was prone on the mat Finlay would pull it up raising her rear in the air as he folded her into a pinfall with her legs and lower body in the air with his upper body leaned down on her legs to try and hold her down.

Now in a very vulnerable position, Amy was folded up into a pinning predicament that shared many similarities with a matchbook pin. She could feel him pushing all of his weight down onto her, which undoubtedly made it much for difficult to kick out. The ref quickly got into position and started the count.

"One... Two..."

But Amy was not going to let this be the end. She was hurting, she was tired, but she could still move. As long as her body had strength left, she would keep fighting. "YEEEEARGH!" With a large battle cry, the blonde roared to life and put everything she had into her legs. Then, she would use all of that to throw him off and get her shoulder up before the count of three.

The crowd went crazy after that near-fall, cheering and yelling at the how quickly this match made a turn for the excitement. That cheering helped to pump her up a bit. Still, she was left panting after that expenditure of energy.

Finlay hearing the two count pushed down on his opponet’s body further trying his damndest to hold the stubborn female beneath him down. ‘Just a little more.’ He thought to himself knowing she was hurt and tired and hoping that’d be enough to put her away, largely because he was in a similar predicament.

Alas just before the ref could bring their hand down for the fateful three count Amy, with a strength Fin should not have been surprised by at this point, kicked her legs up with enough force to send him sprawling back. Grunting and pounding the mat in a fit of frustration due to the near fall Finlay would get up determined to try and keep Amy on the backfoot. Stepping closer to his fellow blonde he would try to wrap his arms around her head and pull her up against him in a headlock. Partially to try and wear her out by squeezing her head but also to give himself some time to catch his breath.

With both wrestlers starting to feel the exhaustion really set in, the crowd was beginning to wonder if this match would ever really get a victor. At the rate things were going, the two might end up in a stalemate.

That being said, it would be Finlay who reacted first. Wrapping her in a headlock, Amy's airways were being put on a limited supply again. But this time, she wasn't going to just let it happen. As best she could, the blonde girl would send her fists into his stomach. One-by-one, she would aim to smash each one into him, just to get him to loosen the hold.

Should she be successful, she would attempt to push him backwards a bit and throw his balance off a bit. Should he still be on his feet or knees, Amy would try to switch to head strikes to regain some momentum.

Finlay smirked as he held Amy down in the headlock. Luckily it provided him the chance to recover just a bit. Amy was far from weak like he initially thought and was actually pretty tough. So he knew he needed to figure out a plan against her.

However before he could fully come up with one Amy was retaliating with her own attack! “Oof!” Finlay grunted as he felt her fists impact with his stomach. Followed by another and another. And another, groaning in pain Finlay’s hold on Amy loosened.

However that was just what she was looking for! Getting pushed back he would grunt as he stumbled a bit from the shove off balance. However as he tried to regain balance his opponet was already upon him with an overhead strike from his opponet dropping diwn to a knee as a result.

Amy got the Kiwi to loosen his grip! She kept on punching. This was fun! Even in the pain she was in, she was thoroughly enjoying this match. She needed this to work, though. As soon as it was loosened enough, she moved on to her next course of action. She pushed him back and created the space she needed. Now, it was time to strike!

BAM! She smashed him in the face! Then he dropped to his knees, while she got to her feet. It was time to turn on the gas. She sent her knee soaring towards his chin, in the hopes that a massive strike like that would be able to put him on his back. Should it do just that, she would immediately follow through with a cover, hooking his leg up and pressing his shoulders down to make it harder for him to get out.

“Gah.. ugh.” The blonde haired new zealander groaned as he rubbed his jaw a bit dazed by that elbow of hers. ‘Her strength is way more than I would have imagined.’ He thought to himself still dazed by the blow, however he wouldn’t have any moment to rest as before he could collect his bearings her knee roared forward smashing into his skull. “Guah!” He yelled in pain, the force or impact from her limb sending him sprawling to his back.

“Agh... damn...” He groaned out through the painful aches coursing through his head from the sheer force of her knee strike to it. unfortunately for him his opponet took advantage of the prime positioning he was in. Feeling her weight press down on his chest he also felt his leg picked up by her as he was pinnee firmly down by her.

“One!!!” The ref counted loudly smacking the mat once in unison with the first count.

With her move connecting right on the dot, Amy was quick to take advantage of the situation. Grabbing Finlay's leg and hooking it up, the blonde girl pressed into him to really apply the pressure and increase her chances of pulling out a win here.

The first count came and went. Then, the ref slapped the mat again for the "Two!"

Amy was just one more count away from her first win in LAW. She could hardly wait. She just hoped the Kiwi would stay down long enough for that...

Finlay grit his teeth tightly as she pulled his leg back and pressed her weight down against his body making it difficult to breath let alone breaking free. However that didn’t stop him from trying to struggle as much as possible. As the ref hit the mat for the two count Finlay’s eyes snapped into focus and with a big heave of his body he would try to arch himself up to throw Amy off of him to break the pin before the three count could be made.
