Karl smiled down at her and nodded.
"Bis zum nächsten mal, Louise."
He remained on the platform and waved to her until she dissapeared into the night.
The reporter sighed and pulled his coat tighter around him, leaving the platform soon to get a smoke he was craving for some time now.
When he excited the Train Station he walked over to the taxi stands.
He sat on a bench and lit a cigarette, blowing the smoke into the nightly air.
Finally it cleared, all clouds disappeared and the moon came out to greet the world with its silver light.
How late was it in the USA?
He put out his cellphone and looked for the number of his daughter and dialed...
And as grey as the world had looked for him a few hours ago, Karl Schneider, the Sensenmann, could'nt help but
suddenly enjoy the blue night, the bright moon and just sitting here, feeling better, getting better.
And all of this, thanks to a random encounter, in the night...




When Louise would turn the umbrella around, a businesscard with the number, mail and name of Karl would fall out.
On it's back was message written with a pen:
"Dear Louise,
Let me tell you that this evening in your company was the most wonderful time I had since I arrived in Japan again.
You are a truly remarkable girl and talking to you really eased the pain of this old warhorse.
Call on me when you need a driver again or if you want some noodels.
And, whatever happens, remember what I told you, never push you, it is ok to lose sometime, kleiner Hai (little Shark)
Arrive safely and whenever you feel like it,
