Fortune Versus Stardom: The Boxing Challenge (for CaptainL and RedShinigami)

With every blow she landed, Molly began to grin with a growing confidence - at least as much as one could within the confines of her mouth guard. She was standing up to a woman who was larger than her (even if not by a lot) and more experienced than her in a contest of strength and endurance, and now she was taking charge of the momentum, surpassing whatever advantage Lyra had! It stood as a testament to how much she and Harmonia had achieved in all their training together, and it gave her hope that she could carry this forward into all of their matches. But Molly knew she wasn't finished here. She still had work to do before this match was over!

Whipping her fist around in an arc, Molly prepared to land a blow against Lyra's jaw...only for the middleweight to swerve to the side, leaving her fist hanging in the air. Molly's eyes widened in shock. Just looking at Lyra, she was sure she had been stunned. She couldn't even believe she had the strength left in her to avoid the incoming punch, especially when Molly was sure she had thrown it fast enough to blindside her opponent. But Lyra, like the fortune teller she was, had already seen the future.

In Molly's shock, she only realized she had let down her guard a moment too late. Lyra swung out with a couple of jabs, both of them hitting her in the ribs! The Englishwoman hissed from the pain, crumpling over forward and bringing her gloves lower to shield her body. She watched Lyra through a wary eye as she stepped back, taking in a few slow breaths. When she saw her retreat, Molly was sure what Lyra's plan was. She'd already seen her fake her out before, and an opening like this seemed too obvious. Surely Lyra was trying to lure her into a trap. But if she hit fast enough, and hard enough...none of that would matter!

Pressing the soles of her feet against the mat, Molly gathered the momentum behind her, and shot out toward Lyra with a burst of speed! As she came close, she would attempt to drive her knuckles into the blonde's gut with all the force she could muster. Molly's speed had always served her well, and here, she was putting all the energy she had left into this manuever. The round might have been wearing down, but hopefully she at least could end it with a bang! Hopefully, not even Lyra's foresight could save her in time!

Lyra couldn’t withstand too much more from Molly as the bunny had exceeded expectations under Harmonia’s training. It was clear she needed to wait out the round and try to regain as much breathing as she could muster. However, Molly’s speed came in handy as the bunny cosplayer came forward arm reaching out for a strong gut punch. Lyra knew she couldn’t get away and would have to take this one head on. However, Lyra drew back her left fist going for the jaw and wanted to leave her own mark for the round.

The gut punch hit and Lyra groaned trying to withstand it as the timer finally reached the end. Lyra stood standing, but her shaky legs gave away her reaction to the punch. It definitely left an impact as she held her gut and walked back to her corner to rest. Jonathan came to the middle seeing if Molly reacted at all to Lyra’s last punch before sending her off to her corner.

“This is getting pretty close. Molly’s got strength and speed down pat, but Lyra’s more experienced and calculated. This round is another tie in my eyes!” Jonathan announced. “Though, I think this sparring match gave me quite the idea. You two are taking on The SWAT Cats aboard the cruise in a few days. Maybe you guys could have a challenge match before that goes down. How about The Superstars take on Lyra…..and me? Can you handle a guy, Harmonia?”

Harmonia welcomed Molly back in the corner and smiled as she gave her the waterbottle and rubbed the sweat off of her brows. "You behave like a true champ, carrot. The girl is just on defense. She knows that you are much stronger then her. And why? Because we trained so hard to make you this strong. Always remember. You held yourself against Lauren. A woman, much, much bigger then you. This is how good and how strong you are now, you see? ", she smiled and then gave her a kiss.

" Don't let her get away and when the chance comes, knock her down with all you've got! ", she smiled as she heard Jonathan.

"What was that? A test match? Welly sure. After Molly had some rest tough. She is'nt accustomed to the effects that a boxing match has on the human body so she will need a bit more time. But if my carrot approves, we can do it. Whar do you say, Molly?"

It was the last few seconds of the round, and Molly was determined to make it count. She put all the strength she could muster into one last push forward, shoving herself across the mat in one long stride to ram her fist straight into Lyra's gut. When she felt her gloved knuckles burying their way into the fortune teller's abdomen, Molly's heart skipped a beat with growing excitement. But a split-second later, she felt a force just as powerful lash out and strike her right in the jaw, turning her head aside as her ponytail whipped around in an arc! The two punches had hit at the exact same time, knocking both competitors away from one another. Molly staggered back, dropping her stance. Now the fatigue caught up to her; her tired arms hung heavy at her sides, and her legs trembled as she tried to keep her footing. And, at that moment, the bell rang.

Molly retreated to her corner, leaning against the ropes and slipping her mouth guard out to pant for breath. It felt as though every muscle in her body was ready to give out. But when she took a swig from the water bottle, she looked back up at Harmonia with a smile - and when her girlfriend pulled her into a kiss, she felt reinvigorated. Knowing she had her support and her faith was all she needed.

She nodded along to Harmonia's words. Even if she was new to competitive boxing, she was still keeping Lyra on her toes. Not only was that proof she could win this, it was proof she was every bit the Superstar she wanted to be! "Ahh...you got it, Moni!! I'm doing this for you, okay?" she said with a nod. She turned around to face Lyra, her eyes narrowed in focus - when the next round came, she was going to make Harmonia proud!

However, it wasn't Lyra who entered the ring next, but Jonathan. Molly listened to him closely; she grinned when she heard that it had come to another tie, which only further supported Molly's high hopes for herself. But when Jonathan issued a challenge, she gasped. She was honored enough as it was getting to demonstrate her natural talents in boxing just to a select few friends. But she saw the potential in front of her. If the whole world could see how well could handle such a challenge, then it would stand as another point of pride for the Superstars' esteemed records! Not to mention, she was never going to turn down a chance to fight at Harmonia's side!

Molly blushed as Harmonia tried to step in on her behalf. "Aww, I can handle it, I'm sure!" she said - only to somewhat undercut herself as she felt a bruise on her side, wincing as she rubbed at it. "Oww..." But still, she nodded her head to Jonathan, and even harder to Harmonia. "I'd love to! It's been a while since we last faced each other, Jon, but it's about time you got to see how I handle things in the ring, too!"

Lyra just chilled in her corner as the effects of the last round got to her as Harmonia and Molly both accepted Jonathan’s tag team challenge. The trainer looked back as Lyra merely nodded as the Instant Classic smirked and turned back to the two blondes in front of him as he pondered over the acceptance. He then had a bright idea as he stroked his chin knowing about the occasional beach tapings that LAW did so he had made his mind up on a match type.

“I’m glad you two accept, but I don’t want to do a normal tag team match. I challenge people to take me to the extreme. So, LAW has a beach taping just a week before we set sail. Me and Lyra against you two in a Sleep With The Fishes Tag Team Match. Tornado Tag Team rules, anything goes, first team to be thrown into the ocean blue loses. Is that cool? No stakes, just for fun,” Jonathan explained to both blondes awaiting their answer.

Harmonia knew that Molly had a good chance to take Lyra down but there was no reason to push anything. Harmonia just was glad to see Molly having fun and excell in all she wanted to do.

Harmonia gave Molly a kiss and smiled. "We put some ice on your tummy and I will massage you later, yes?", she said with a smile and stroked her girlfriends cheek. "But this is'nt over Molly. You have a chance. Use your speed and then when she least expects it...", she whispered before Jonathan spoke.

She listened to the words of her friend and nodded. "Mhm, Mhm, so you say i will see Molly and Lyra duke it out in bikinis? Count me in!", she said with a laugh. "Alright, that sounds like a fun venture, hm? Well then Ladies. You are ready for the deciding round? Winner is who wins this round or gets a KO. So, put some heart into it!", she grinned and rang the bell again, giving Molly her mouthpiece. "Knock her lights out.", she whispered. "Speed Molly, don't forget. Speed and that hammer of yours."

Molly blushed as Harmonia pulled her closer - especially when she mentioned giving her a massage. But at the Austrian's words of encouragement, she nodded her head, her body firming up and at the ready. "Right, right...okay." She listened closely to her strategy. It was clear that Molly had the edge when it came to manueverability, and it had proved enough to take even Lyra off-guard. If she could press that, she might be able to stand a chance. She might have been new to boxing, but she was starting to see how all the pieces fit together, and now she was more confident than ever that she could win this!

But even that competitive spirit would be forgotten when Jonathan announced his proposal for a tag match, and at the stipulations, Molly's eyes went wider. It certainly sounded like a creative idea, but what caught her attention most of all was that Jonathan was intent on pushing the limits, coming up with new and inventive match types to truly bring the best out of both himself and his opponents. It was that kind of environment that the Superstars thrived in. They were out to show the world they could stand as a new sensation in the wrestling world, no matter what they were up against, and they could never turn down a challenge like this - it would prove they could thrive in any environment! "Sounds like fun!!" Molly cheered with a nod of her head, clapping her knuckles together through her gloves. "You've got it - I just hope you don't mind getting wet!"

Molly laughed at her own joke, but at Harmonia's comment, she blushed and spun back around to her partner. "Moniiiiii! Don't forget, it's a tornado tag match! You've gotta put in the work too, y'know!" Still, when her girlfriend reminded her of the rules, Molly knew it was time to get serious again. With a nod of her head, she sank back into a stance, raising her fists. "Alright, Moni...don't forget, I'm gonna win this for you!" she cheered, just before she slipped her mouth guard back in.

With that, Harmonia rang the bell, and it was time for Molly to close in on her opponent. She remembered what Harmonia had taught her, and she was going to put it into practice from the moment the round began. With a spring in her step, the Englishwoman weaved back and forth from one side to another, switching up her directions to keep Lyra guessing which side she'd be coming from as she closed in. Hopefully, by the time she was in range, she would be confused enough for Molly to catch her by surprise with a haymaker to the jaw!

Lyra intensely blushed and sank back a little bit as sex appeal wasn’t really her thing. Above all things, Lyra is not big on wearing bikinis and prefers bodysuits as her choice of swimwear. She is not like other women in that she is a vegan and prefers her greens over meat as well as being modest about her body. Lyra rocks a C cup in breast size, but the fortune teller would hardly say she was a model. Compared to Harmonia and Molly, her beauty pales in comparison in her mind and she figured no one would want to see her body in action.

“I’m not a fan of showing skin. I don’t think I’m attractive enough,” Lyra stated as she just backed away to get ready for the deciding round.

Jonathan heard Molly accept their tag team challenge and chuckled when she taunted him as he had to fire back.

“Well, I hope you and Hannah Montana over here like being drenched under the waves. It’s going to be a challenge against me and you know that better than anyone, Molly,” Jonathan teased as he got back in his position as referee.

The bell rang for the final round as both Jonathan and Harmonia decided that would be enough for the spar. Both women demonstrated their strengths and weaknesses over the course of the first two rounds, but it would be better to end this before anyone got seriously hurt or injured. The Superstars definitely didn’t want to miss out on their big title match soon and Jonathan didn’t want to visit Lyra in a hospital. Lyra came in as Molly shifted from side to side keeping her guessing as the fortune teller could afford it. She didn’t need to keep track of Molly, but be quick enough to dodge her haymaker.

Molly comes forward going for a haymaker, but Lyra simply shifted back letting the punch sail just past her chin! Sharp reflexes always came in handy. Lyra backed up and smirked going for a right jab to the gut and make Molly bend over in pain before trying for a left cross to the jaw!

Molly giggled a little to Lyra's response, showing her a warm smile. "Well...don't take this the wrong way, Moni, but I think you're very pretty. But of course, you don't need to do anything you aren't comfortable with." Then, facing Jonathan, she nodded her head. She knew that she was going to have to face him in such a match as well - and she knew firsthand that his career as a wrestling veteran had taught him well. She owed much of what she knew to him, and she had sparred with and against him plenty of times before. But that also meant that she knew what to expect from him, and she would be ready. "Of course," she said, her tone growing more serious. "But you also haven't gotten a chance to see what I can do now that Moni's taught me what she's learned from the Shadow Fortress...and I'm happy to show that off too!" she added with a wink back in her girlfriend's direction.

Now, though, it was time for the final round to begin. The match had been a close tie up until this point, so it was all up to one of the two women to tip the odds. Molly was well aware of that, and she was prepared to do anything she needed to in order to succeed! She came charging toward Lyra, her fist drawn back to deliver a punch to her jaw in the hopes that she could blindside her with enough speed and force. But as her fist flew, Lyra leaned backward, getting out of the way just in time! Molly barely had enough time for her eyes to go wide in shock before her opponent shifted to the side to ram a jab into her stomach. Letting out a groan that was muffled into her mouth guard, Molly doubled over forward. But this wasn't the first time Lyra had done this! Molly was starting to pick up on her patterns, and she had come to predict her strategy. She was already sure another punch was coming - and she had to be ready!

Just as Lyra's fist was coming closer, Molly tried to swing her left forearm upward to try and block the incoming punch. If that worked, she wouldn't waste a second before she swung her right arm in an uppercut, aiming to swing underneath Lyra's arm and hit her in the sternum!

Lyra thought she had Molly pegged and that she could get an advantage in this last round. Sure, it had been a close tie and Molly certainly had strength to boast, but the bunny brawler really couldn’t get around a person who knew her moves before she could. However, that didn’t stop Molly from picking up on Lyra’s strategy and she anticipated the uppercut even as Lyra’s gut punch succeeded in connecting. Molly blocked the punch and came back with her own uppercut.

It hit the sternum and that made Lyra back up nearly spitting out her mouth guard. Lyra held her gloves close to block any instant moves Molly may have in mind as she sucked some air back in her lungs. The fortune teller couldn’t be sure if she held advantage or not if Molly was becoming a smart cookie. The fortune teller shook away doubts as she was back in the game going on the defensive for now.
