Doctor Fabulous vs. Ishtar Vasiliev

Doctor Fabulous exhaled in relief when Ishtar released the hold, dropping her hand under the rope as her upperhalf flopped forward onto the mat. Grunting and groaning, the psychiatrist grabbed onto the rope again to help pull herself up while she held the back of her neck with her other hand, grimacing through the pain.

And yet, Doc Fab was surprised to notice that Ishtar wasn't following up. She was allowed the time to start to recover, which she gladly took. "Hope I didn't scare you off..." joked the Doctor as she looked over her shoulder at Vasiliev.

Finally, turning, the psychiatrist leaned against the ropes, hooking her arms over the top rop and shrugging. "I'll take a breather then, if you don't mind," remarked Doc Fab with a small smile, tilting her head back as she winced. She was happy to take advantage in the cease fire between them since she was allowed it.

"Don't act like you don't have some counter trick if I went in. Probably involving that headgear you have if I had to guess," Ishtar half joked. But Fabulous neither attacked, nor did she remove her second shoe to steady herself. Instead she simply leaned back on the ropes for a round of rest and recovery against the ropes. Clearly intended to stay there until Ishtar came to her.

And then Fabulous went so far as to hang her own arms over the ropes. One of the ultimate signs of vulnerability and openness to an attack as there was in any combat sport with a roped ring. Ishtar suspected a trap, but she also suspected that Fabulous had laid the bait too far out for her to pull back in time. The Russian was going in. Ishtar took one step forward and leaped through the air at the Doctor's midsection with a crossbody. Covering enough horizontal space that her opponent wouldn't be able to dodge to the side, and getting herself high enough in the air so that Fabulous wouldn't be able get a knee or kick up there to counter.

"Tricks?" asked Doc Fab innocently, placing a hand on her chest. "Just what kind of person do you think I am?" The blonde smirked as she said the words, winking at her once as she moved her arm back around the ropes. She was fortunate to enjoy the time to recover, as she certainly needed it a lot more than her Russian opponent did. But she could see Ishtar's patience start to thin, which was fine for the Doctor. She had impeccable patience, as it turned out. It came with the profession.

And so Ishtar would be charging right for her, and Fabulous merely watched and shrugged, removing her arms from the ropes. It appeared Vasiliev was going for some kind of body block, and she presumed that the powerful girl didn't have much spring in her step, so she simply did what was simplest. Fabulous threw herself down on the mat on her side, leaving the open ropes directly for Ishtar with the full intent for the girl to soar right over her and through the ropes herself. It was a simple counter, and one that could start a real series of offense for her.

When Ishtar came flying in, Fabulous knew that she couldn't dodge left or right. Ishtar also believed that she wouldn't be able to duck down because the Doctor had her arms hanging over the ropes, but the Russian would be proven wrong. There was still contact, but it was merely Ishtar hitting Fabulous's arms as they followed the rest of her body down to the mat. It was nothing serious, a glancing blow at best.

Ishtar did not fly through the ropes and out of the ring. While there was enough space between ropes for the Russian to fit, she didn't get high enough to clear the middle rope, which her hip would catch onto. Momentum would try to carry her through, but Ishtar was able to grab the top rope to stop her fall before righting herself. Now Ishtar and Fabulous were well within range of each other, with only three ropes between them. How this scenario played out would have huge implications for the rest of the match.

Doctor Fabulous had reacted quickly, anticipating Ishtar's attack, and she ducked down, laying on the mat with a relieved expression on her face, as well as a little satisfaction. That is, until she noticed Ishtar hadn't have fallen at all. With a roll of her eyes and a groan, Doc Fab knew she had to try to take advantage of this now. Her bigger and stronger opponent needed to be grounded finally, and she was willing to do what she had to to get ahead in this match.

She figured she would just take her leg and sweep it towards the back of Ishtar's legs now as she shouted, "Come on now!" She threw her whole body on the ground towards the impact of that sweep, hoping to either make Ishtar fall onto the apron or straight to the outside of the ring. Whichever it was, she wanted Ishtar grounded again so she could finally make some forward progress in this match.

Ishtar found her current position to be rather disadvantageous. While Fabulous had the whole of the ring to work with, the Russian was on the outside looking in. Having to keep hold of the ring for balance as the balls of her feet stood on a thin strip of mat while her heels hung off. Ishtar wanted to get back in, but Fabulous would try to knock her out completely instead.

"Ah!" yelped Ishtar after Fabulous swept her legs. The Russian's legs were knocked off of the ring completely, and her grip on the rope was the only thing that kept her from falling completely. Ishtar's weight pulled down on the rope as she hung a short drop up from the stadium floor. Recognizing that she wasn't pulling herself up without Fabulous knocking her back down, Ishtar would release the ropes and drop down. To get back in, Ishtar would break for the corner. When she tried to make her reentry to the ring, the Russian would try to utilize the corner post as cover to try to block off and outmaneuver Fabulous.

Doctor Fabulous had managed to sweep Ishtar's legs, but unfortunately for her, the Russian managed to hold onto the ropes and simply dropped down instead harmlessly to the outside. Huffing a deep breath, the Doctor rolled her eyes and then began to remove her other boot, tossing it towards the corner of the ring for a stage hand to collect. While she did so, she called out to her opponent, "You seem awfully scared of what a girl half your size might do to you. Not that you shouldn't be, but it's worth noting."

The psychiatrist-wrestler would then get to her feet, brushing herself off as she leaned an elbow on the top rope and leaned her head on her hand, gesturing with her free hand for Ishtar to enter the ring. "Go on. I won't bite. Yet. Give me a few more minutes though," jested Doc Fab, simply allowing Vasiliev to enter the ring since it didn't seem like she was allowing for an opening for her to come at her regardless.

Ishtar was prepared to fight tooth and nail to get past Fabulous and back into the ring, but it seemed that she wouldn't need to. The Doctor made no attempt to cut Ishtar off or otherwise impede her ability to reach the corner as she wanted. And by then Fabulous was too far away to stop Ishtar from getting in even if she tried. So, Ishtar pulled herself up and slid in.

"You've been fighting tooth and nail every step in this match, so you'll have to forgive me for not expecting you to be so accommodating here," said Ishtar with a playful tone. The Russian then walked towards Fabulous, ready to restart the fighting after the short lull in the action. Ishtar would open with a kick at the Doctor's thigh, looking to kick the blonde into the ropes she was currently standing next to.

Doctor Fabulous smirked and shrugged at Ishtar's response. "Well, if I weren't fighting that hard then I ought to not even be here," remarked the psychiatrist-wrestler casually. However, it would be time to engage in the action yet again, and Doc Fab got herself ready. If there was one thing she could at least count on over her opponent, it was that she was a little quicker than her. So as Vasiliev went for a thigh kick, the Doctor neutralized it by catching it! Shrugging once more, she would then toss it over the middle rope of where she was standing so it was hanging off of it.

"You'll have to forgive me too," added Doctor Fabulous before she hauled off and kicked the middle rope hard, aiming to fire that dangerous ring rope up against Ishtar's leg, hoping to severely hurt that limb and strike out a quick advantage as the match returned! It wasn't the cleanest move, but it would be an effective one, and she needed all she could get with the height differential.

Ishtar wasn't certain how effective her attack would be, but she had not expected Fabulous to be able to catch her leg in the slightest. And the Russian gasped in shock and alarm when it happened. Then the Doctor threw that leg over the rope, making any attempts at movement rather slow and awkward for her. She couldn't get her leg away in time to dodge Fabulous' kick.

"Gah!" yelped Ishtar as the rope snapped up into her calf. It sent her stinging, hopping back off balance on one leg until she fell over onto her back. "It's like getting towel whipped but worse," complained Ishtar from her spot down on the mat. Knowing that her opponent would likely fight hard to keep the Russian grounded again, Ishtar would stand up with and uppercut. Hoping to catch Fabulous trying to overextend, or at least keep her at bay.
