Re: Hockey Night in Japan - Gil & Satsuki

Satsuki sat up, removing her mask. The lining of the protective garment was soaked in her sweat; she'd have to clean the thing before giving it back to Gil. With a half-roll and some help from her stick, she was able to reach her bag and drag it over. The drawstring bag was upturned, and a water bottle and cell phone fell out. Satsuki grabbed the bottle first, chugging the water down gratefully.
Once she was done, she looked over at Gil. Her hockey sensei had just gotten done thanking and praising her, which admittedly felt a little off. Usually, getting nearly skunked in a game would tick Satsuki the hell off. And it did! Still, for some reason, she couldn't bring herself to be mad at Gil. Not with the way she was smiling at her. "Hahaha!" Instead, she giggled like a damn schoolgirl. "No, thank you. I feel myself getting better, and I'm learning a lot, too. Don't be surprised if I kick off to the side to avoid a big hit some day." Her heel tapped the floor at an angle for emphasis.
"Tips for you, huh?" Satsuki rubbed her chin. "Well, I dunno how much of what you just pulled out would work against someone with more experience in this..." Quickly, her hands shot up into a reassuring gesture. "Uh, the tip's not to stop doing all that. It's the opposite, actually. Never stop styling on people if you're able to. Not only is it fun," she laughed, recalling how much Gil seemed to enjoy their impromptu workout, "but it's also a way to show off what you're about. If you don't give your opponent everything you've got -- 'practical' or not -- it's kinda insulting, don't you think?"
Satsuki continued to drink her water. "Mm," she hummed before bringing down the bottle again. "Sorry if that wasn't super helpful in the hockey sense. I just... got a lot of thoughts in my head about competition in general." Suddenly reminded of something, Satsuki picked up her phone and tapped through it. "Ugh," she groaned, "I fucked up some more of my onboarding and orientation paperwork. Why do I have to go through so much bureaucracy just to beat up some chicks?"
Exasperated, she tossed her phone to the ground, not even bothering to lock it. It landed right between her spread-out knees, but Satsuki paid no mind to it. Instead, she continued to drink, determined to finish her water. "I could do a few more reps in the net when you're ready," she nodded, looking absentmindedly towards the rest of the gym.
