Prudence wasn’t here. She wasn’t present. She was in the ring, but it wasn’t this ring at this time. Instead, it was years ago, before she left LAW and she was trapped in the ring with Skylar Fucking Jones again. The woman was picking her apart, stripping her, and the crowd was just sitting there and watching as she cried and the beating continued and…
Shit, she’d been through this before. It felt like she was on the verge of a panic attack again, and even though she tried to remember her exercises and focus, to get her heart rate under control, it seemed like the more she tried to do that, the more she spiraled. It was like being in quicksand and everything, everything-
He touched her.
It was light. Gentle. Soothing. Prudence froze up as if her blood had turned to ice, staring down at him with a bewilderment that surely translated despite half of her features being covered up. His answer was simple, but the meaning was clear, and the care in his tone drove it home even more. She did know how to wrestle. She didn’t have to overcomplicate.
”I…” She huffed, letting out a hot, exasperated sigh. ”Hold on.”
Sister Prudence grabbed Angel by the head, not the hair, stood up, and forced him to rise with her as she pulled him to his feet. As soon as he was standing, she reached down, pulled him over her shoulder, and proceeded to force his head and legs down with a Torture Rack, bending him along a shelf of muscle… though, notably, not as stiff as she could’ve.
From where she stood, though, Sister Lucia could tell none of that. All she knew was that her lieutenant was bending Angel in half, and it was a truly lovely sight. She kept that smile on as she side-eyed Jamie. ”I couldn't very well preach to the unfaithful if I had a problem being near sinners, could I, Jamie?”
She stepped around him, looked him over, and made her way to his other side. ”Are you more of a sinner than most?”
