Elena had her feet planted firmly on the mat as she leaned forward over Katsumi and held her legs down to maintain the pin. Could this be it? Was Elena really going to pick up her first win in LAW?

"ONE!"

Elena smiled as she heard the referee begin to count. Her mind was racing, definitely more active than her opponent's at the moment. "Come on, come on, come on! Please just stay down!" She was pleading in her head for this to be her moment. To come back like this after having been so easily crushed within the opening minute? It was the perfect underdog story.

"TWO!"

The ref slapped the mat one more time and raised their hand in preparation for the third. One second. Elena just needed to hold on for one more second. She leaned forward further, doing everything in her power to make sure the Punk Princess would stay down.

This went so wrong so quickly. All because she tried to do something nice. Was it a mistake? Her head, shoulders, and back would be telling her it was. And that she's an idiot for not realizing she was gambling with her career.

Through the haze, she feels Elena's arms tighten around her folded midsection, the angle of the pin stiffening just a bit with the other girl pushing more into the pin. The mat had already shook with one count. Then the mat shakes again with the second.

A flash of bright white realization hits the Punk Princess all at once. In a burst of defiant energy, she twists to the side and bucks with her legs, upsetting the balance and jostling her weight first onto only one shoulder before ultimately dropping to the mat on her side.

"Two-count!," declares the referee. "No fall!"

Katsumi, still lying on her side, slides her arm beneath herself to lift herself at the shoulders a little. She gives her head a quick shake, trying to refocus more and clear the dizzying fatigue of the impact that lingers.
