Katsumi wasn’t sure what kind of response she was expecting. But the one Ryuko gave was definitely not it. It leads Katsumi to say perhaps the most ironic thing to date:

“Ah- don’t be such a bitch!”

Where she intended to go with her tangent is abandoned in favor of adopting some tough talk. “Bad for you, because I know your whole playbook!”

Despite trying to restrain Ryuko’s arms behind her knees, they’re still making progress towards the ropes. Katsumi means to stop that flat - or at least put in as much damage as fast as she can. Her upper-body hunches forward and she attempts to capture Ryuko’s chin behind her arm in a reverse headlock modification to the submission. Her free arm tries to hook one of Ryuko’s arms and restrain it!

"Ahhhhhhhhhh!"

The scream from Ryuko was easily heard as it echoed throughout the arena, her face twisted in agony! She kept trying to crawl with her good arm, so close to the ropes...

Ryuko was in a lot of pain as she moaned, reaching out for that bottom rope!

It’s too early to hope for a tap out from Ryuko. Katsumi knows that. But it would’ve been a huge boon to her career if she managed to force it out so soon. And if she’s being honest, it feels awesome being in the proverbial driver’s seat in a match against Thunder Ryuko. But all good things must eventually come to an end - eventually. Her opponent has grabbed the bottom rope, and the referee is calling for a break.

“Huh? She’s not on the rope!” Katsumi has opted to play dumb, despite everyone in the audience and watching at home clearly seeing she’s aware of it.

“She has the rope, Oshiro-san! Let go!”

“You’re cheating for her!”

It’s all a ruse to milk the hold for as long as possible, refusing to relax the painful arch.

“Let her go right now! One! Two! Three! I’m about to disqualify you! Four!”

Katsumi suddenly lets go, hands raising in the classic dindu. “Fine, whatever!” She raises to her feet - only to stomp down at Ryuko’s back.

Ryuko knew the game Katsumi was playing, gritting her teeth as she growled words of anger directed at Katsumi. "You cheap bitch!" Ryuko said as she finally got out of the hold.

The stomp to the back for a groan out of Ryuko as she kicked the mat, again struggling to rise to her feet from her current spot on her hands and knees. Ryuko winced in pain, still feeling it as she attempted to rise to her feet.

"You will pay for that." Ryuko said, stepping at Katsumi as she tried to grapple with Katsumi! If she could, Ryuko tried to ram her knee into Katsumi's abdomen!

Katsumi eagerly locks up with Ryuko, and as it happens, the two have the exact same plan in mind. She doesn’t want to lose this momentum she’s gained. It’s like a chink in armor plate, or a crack in a dam. If she can keep working it, she can bring the whole thing apart and get this needed win!

Katsumi, though, has to respond to the taunt. With the two tangled together and the battle of body and will begins, she growls, “Better open a tab, bitch, cuz this is goin’ all NI-ghh!”

Katsumi’s bare stomach caves against the knee, her eyes widening as she’s jostled. She struggles to derange an arm and swing it low to return the favor in the form of a punch!

Ryuko grinned as she connected with the knee strike, baring her teeth. "How'd you like that you lit- Arrgh!" the punch made her groan and stagger, but her resolve was still strong even if her abdomen was in quite a bit of pain! Ryuko grabbed hold of Katsumi's hair with one hand, trying to free up her other to swing her fist right into Katsumi's jaw!

"I will pound you into the ground! You can't stand up to my might! I am the damned thunder empress!" Ryuko shouted as she tried to strike back harder than Katsumi was able to muster against her! Ryuko's stubborn pride was kicking in, and with that a sense of desperation that wasn't present earlier in the matchup! It was a tense sense from her that the crowd could pick up on, and surely Katsumi could as well. Ryuko also possessed a great drive, one that Katsumi would be wise not to underestimate!

Katsumi was preparing to press her advantage in the form of pushing Ryuko back, but she over-estimated how much her punch to her gut stunned her. Instead, she finds her hair grabbed in startlement, followed by a clear and solid strike to her elfin jaw. Her hands immediately slack from Ryuko's frame in a daze, leaving her woefully open. The second strike to her face completes the daze, Katsumi's eyes glazed over and body slouched, completely vulnerable. The punkette may hit like a truck and be both sharp and fast as lightning, but weathering heavy blows just isn't in the cards for her.

The snarky Punk Princess is standing completely at Ryuko's mercy at the moment, normally vibrant and expressive green eyes dully centered on Ryuko's.

Ryuko sees Katsumi in her daze, and she is like a shark who senses blood in the water. Ryuko grits her teeth and her usual focus takes on something of a brutish gaze. Forgoing her usual grace she simply reaches out to grab Katsumi by the throat with her right hand and choke her straight away, pulling her close.

"You are insignificant compared to me. You don't belong in my ring!" Ryuko shouted, her left arm reaching back to Katsumi's upper back. Ryuko is going for pure force with this, no style points right now. High impact force regardless of style breeds the type of results she desires at this moment. With a shout Ryuko attempts to lift the smaller woman up by the throat and hold her for a split second before attempting to complete a chokeslam!

Katsumi's slender neck is grabbed, her face pulled close. Eyes widen in surprise and dread, but rather than get further beaten up with punches, she's subjected to some less-than-fun 'banter'. Insignificant? She doesn't belong? Katsumi can usually roll with the punches, but that coming from Ryuko hurts. It's even written on her face. She's unable to respond more than a simple whimper, her hands clasping onto the wrist supporting her neck.

Then she's strongarm'd into the air.

Then she's brought down with thundering force against the mat.

Katsumi's mind blanks, and her body ceases cooperating. Her head lulls to the side as she lies flat on her back, her limbs limply splayed out along the mat. She's motionless, save for the heavy rise and fall of her chest and stomach with each breath.

Ryuko can feel the ring shake and looms down on Katsumi, a smirk spreads across her face before she falls down on top of Katsumi, laying across her chest.

Ryuko hooks a leg and slaps the mat with her free hand. "Come on ref, get over here and do your job already!" She shouts, a glare on in her eyes as she looks over at the official.

"ONE!"

The count begins and Ryuko stays on top of Katsumi, confident her choke slam took the fight out of the pesky punkette.
