"Excellent! I'm glad to hear that. I'm just going to need a second. I'm going to grab some training dummies. Be right back"

Oscar looked quite happy to hear Ambre accept his offer for the improvised study session- releasing the handshake to hurry off and grab some large, bulky training dummies and take them to a wrestling ring set up in the gym- shoving them under the ropes before he got himself in and faced Ambre.

"Alright! Before we start- tell me about yourself. I know you're primarily a powerhouse, but how do you typically use that strength of yours in a match? What strategies do you have for being defensive? It'll give me an idea of where to start"

Ambre was waiting for Oscar to return, who came back with training mannequins. The Frenchwoman had never used them and was eager to see what kind of training awaited her with models... But before that, she had to answer a rather difficult question, what were her match strategies? She had one, sure, but it was a bit... Counterproductive.

"My strategy... Well.."

The French woman lightly rubbed her hair in thought, thinking back to her matches.

"I am very often on defense to protect myself from the blows and holds of my opponents... I only attack if I am sure to counterattack or if my blow is sure to hit.. I do not often attack on my own Even, it's often I force myself out of a hold or I manage to find the pattern of my opponents strikes to counter them..."

"Ok... interesting response. Patient, intuitive, and an opportunist. I find that's a strategy I often run too. We'll start with submissions then. If you have experience reading an opponent and counterattacking, you can capitalize and punish opponents with worse things than strikes"

Oscar would take one of the dummies and pass it off to Ambre before he himself used the other dummy as an example.

"Let's start with something simple- a boston crab hold. A good chance to use this move is when someone tries to throw a kick your way. If you can catch the kick, you can use your strength to yank them off balance and put some pressure on their legs- like so!"

Oscar would flip the dummy onto its front before sitting down on its back with its legs in hand- leaning back to bend the dummy in what almost looked like a C-shape!

"It's a basic move, but we can really make the most of it because of our heavyweight status. Most wrestlers will try to drag themselves to the ropes to get a rope break- but wrestlers like us can just use our weight to make it more difficult on them as well as our strength to drag an opponent away from the ropes. It's a good way to take control of a match"

Ambre looked at Oscar with wide eyes and imagined the scene in a real fight at the same time as she saw Oscar doing it. It was an excellent idea, Ambre had never thought of countering a strike with a submission hold, it was a simple, quick and effective method to turn the situation around and regain the advantage.

"I see... That's a great idea!"

She placed the dummy in front of her and threw herself onto her leg, lifting the dummy easily to flip it over before sitting on her back, pulling both legs back for a quick Boston Crab. Ambre's hold looked less like a C than Oscar's but it was enough, she looked at the green-eyed wrestler waiting to see his reaction.

"Like that ?"

"Yes! Exactly like that! You're a fast learner. The way you got that locked in would be real painful for your opponent- even moreso if you went farther back. Just know- going too far could risk dealing serious damage to an opponent but I'll let you decide with what you're comfortable with"

Oscar beamed at Ambre as he continued to keep the hold locked in on his dummy.

"Submissions aren't just good for wearing down opponents- when used correctly, they can be used to take control of a match and keep and opponent right where you want them. It's especially handy for dealing with high-fliers since you're anchoring them and keeping them from moving around"

Oscar got off the dummy and would get to his feet with it- switching himself to snaring It's head in a side headlock.

"You can even chain submission holds into slams or strikes- like a side headlock! This is something I picked up from my own mentor. Basically, you squeeze your opponents head against your upper body... then while you have them trapped... you follow up with a running bulldog!"

Oscar displayed this by taking a few steps forward and leaping upward- releasing the grip on the dummy and grabbing the back of its head before SLAMMING it into the canvas on the way down!

Ambre continued to pull both thighs of the dummy, looking at Oscar with her eyes still wide and nodding her head following his advice. Chaining her shots with something else was something pretty basic but something Ambre missed every time. Her movements still lacked fluidity but thanks to this advice and this new technique, perhaps another door would open.

"I see..."

She released her Boston Crab and quickly turned towards the dummy, trapping it in a Side Headclock and forcing it to get up with her before following up with a Running Bulldog to knock it to the ground. At that moment, Ambre had only copied Oscar but she saw very clearly the different choices available to her, she could either continue to torture her opponent with a submission hold, or continue to inflict damage with a slam or use a move that would lead to a pinfall.

She grabbed the dummy by the leg and torso, lifting it above her head as she got back to her feet then followed up with a back breaker by dropping one knee to the ground and completely dropping the dummy.

“Is that good ?...”

Oscar watched Ambre take some initiative with her own use of the combo- earning a sparkle in his eyes as he applauded Ambre's technique.

"Yes! Very good! There's a ton of different ways to chain things together. The only limit is your imagination. A person favorite of mine has got to be a transition from a bearhug to a powerbomb- but you're free to experiment yourself and see what clicks for you. Now- let me grab a mat real quick. I'm going to show some aerial moves next"

Oscar dropped his dummy and slipped out of the ring- heading to the side to grab a cushioned gym mat and shoving it back into the ring before taking his dummy and laying it on the mat.

"When you're ready, climb up on the turnbuckle as far as your comfortable with and I'll pass on what a dear friend of mine taught me regarding high-flying maneuvers"

The Black Pearl smiled, she had been able to be efficient and quickly applied Oscar's advice. It was one of the best training sessions she had and it seemed to unlock new possibilities for her future matches, other than becoming stronger and more enduring! She watched as Oscar prepared for his next lesson and released her dummy in the center of the ring before standing in the corner of the ring.

She climbed up rather quickly, standing on the third rope facing the arena and her back to the audience. She had no problem climbing and didn't seem afraid of heights. Ambre was a powerhouse and was always beaten as such, using aerials never crossed her mind.

"Can I use an aerial as a powerhouse ?..."

"I see no reason why you can't use aerial moves. I'll be upfront though- it won't be as easy to do as it is for fighters of a lower weight class. The reason for that is because there's more risk involved. Aerial moves can be devastating, no matter the weight class, but if you botch it or you miss your mark then the only one taking serious damage is you- and speaking from experience, it ESPECIALLY hurts for heavyweights. Y'know, the bigger they are the harder they fall. That kind of logic"

Oscar would step to the side and gesture to the dummy on the padded mat.

"We're going to start off with something simple and strong- a senton bomb. It's really basic- just take a second to position yourself and aim for the dummy. When you're ready, jump off the turnbuckle and try and land on the target back first"

Ambre was one of the smallest female heavyweight wrestlers, facing wrestlers her size or smaller than her was extremely rare. She didn't know if her agility could help her be a good high flyer despite her weight division... She just had to see it now.

"Hmmm...Okay!"

The Frenchwoman looked at her dummy in the center of the ring and placed her back to it before throwing herself backwards, falling on her back to crush the dummy with all her weight before rolling to the side to get up rather quickly. She then stroked her head, looking at the dummy then at Oscar.

"Was it good ?.."
