L.A.W. - League of Anime Wrestling

Blair was fighting as hard as she could, bludgeoning all up and down Suzan's leg with the rapid fire of her punches - yet, much to her dismay, it didn't seem to slow her down. If anything, it was only encouraging her to fight back harder, and she tightened the pressure of her headscissors, squeezing at Blair's temples with brutal force! As she felt Suzan's thighs wrap firmly around her head, Blair let out a muffled scream, her teeth gnashing and her back arching up from the mat. She couldn't even feel the shame she would ordinarily feel from knowing that a rookie had made her scream any more - at this point, her survival instinct was kicking in. At this point, she just had to get free, one way or another. As long as that worked, nothing else mattered!

If punching Suzan in the legs wasn't working, Blair would have to try a different approach. She reached up with her hands to press them in between her head and Suzan's thighs, hoping to get a firm, steady grip on her opponent's legs with which to draw enough leverage to fight back. If that worked, she would push as hard as she could, trying to force Suzan's legs apart! Her teeth clenched, the veins in her neck bulging as her brow dripped with sweat, and she let out a stifled groan. Blair's physical strength wasn't as good as her striking, and Suzan definitely outweighed her, but it was now or never! And hopefully, the adrenaline would well make up for anything!

Suzan sees this, and only tightens the hold even more.

Suzan: C’mon kid, I don’t want you to pass out.. just tap out before you end up getting hurt!

Once again, Blair had tried her best to break Suzan's dominant streak...and her best didn't seem good enough. As the blonde squeezed tighter with her thighs, even as she tried to push outward with her hands, the Muay Thai fighter could feel her arms buckling against the force of the push. Her teeth clenched as she tried to hold back a pained roar, her eyes squeezed tightly shut, and her face went red. The more she fought to keep Suzan from exerting such crushing force, the more she felt the muscles in her arms burning from the strain - they began to sag and bend at the elbows as though weighed down by a load she couldn't hold back. She knew she would need to get out of this soon. But what put the most pressure on Blair wasn't even the strain of maintaining resistance - it was knowing that Suzan kept taunting her and mocking her, calling her "kid" like she wasn't the one with more experience as far as she could tell, and acting like her victory was inevitable. She couldn't succumb when doing so would mean Suzan was right about her being outmatched, having no future. She'd gone to wrestling in the first place to show the world she wasn't a washed-up has-been; she couldn't undermine it all now!

Now, Blair's arms felt like they were on fire. Every nerve in her limbs was firing, telling her to abandon her escape - that it wasn't working, and it would only backfire on her if her body gave out. Her vision had begun to darken and blur, too, as the threat of unconsciousness began to creep in. But if this wasn't working...Blair would just try something else before she surrendered!

"I'm not passing out-! Not now...and not ever!" She bent her legs at the knees, trying to get a good footing on the mat with which to bear her weight - then, she would try and kip up in an attempt to force her way to her feet. Hopefully, it would have enough momentum behind it to propel her out of Suzan's clutches!

Suzan rolls her eyes before releasing her from the hold.

Suzan: Kid, you’re really starting to test me here..

At last, her desperate struggle had taken her somewhere - Blair had managed to pry Suzan's legs apart, finally breaking free of the headscissor! She sucked in a few deep breaths as she tried to shake the cobwebs out of her head, and when the world around her had just a moment ago seemed stifling and oppressive under the ironclad pressure of the hold, every breath that filled her lungs seemed sweet by comparison. But she just as quickly pushed her way back to her feet, rolling her neck and shoulders back and forth to try and work through a few kinks in her sore muscles. Suzan had taken her by surprise with how much fight she had in her, which told Blair she couldn't afford to lie around feeling sorry for herself. She had to stay on the move if she wanted to survive - Suzan would give her no choice!

The Muay Thai fighter winced, her teeth clenched in a hiss as she took a few steps forward. The aches and pains in her body weren't going to fade from her memory any time soon. But as she looked back over her shoulder, Blair set Suzan squarely in her line of sight, and her eyes narrowed in determination. Even if Suzan had some praise for her, and even if it did bring a smile to her face, it wouldn't hold her back from her goal. She had been pushed around for too long, particularly by a rookie who by all means shouldn't even have been on her level, let alone mocking her for not being able to stand up to the pressure. No, now it was time that Blair fought back!

She kept watching Suzan out of the corner of her eye as she stepped back, walking backward to close into range. Many in the crowd, and even the commentators, were confused about why Blair would expose her back to an opponent, especially when Suzan had given her as much trouble as she had. But Blair would just as soon show them why - it would give her all the more momentum behind her strike when, a moment later, she would whip her leg around to deliver a roundhouse kick to Suzan's side as quickly as she could, pivoting her entire body to face her foe in the process! Hopefully, Suzan wouldn't be able to see it coming either, thanks to Blair's unorthodox stance!

Suzan staggers back from the unexpected strike, but quickly regains her footing.

Suzan: *Thinking* Guess this lil’ dragon has a lot of firepower left in her.. gotta tire her out before I try to use one of my other finishers.

Blair knew it was risky. She was exposing her back to Suzan, and if the blonde had chosen this moment to strike, she would do so before Blair had the chance to turn around and face her foe, leaving her vulnerable to attack. But when she was this far behind Suzan, in a match where she had no right to be struggling as much as she was, she was willing to take a risk - she was growing desperate, and she had to turn things around sooner or later, if only to reclaim her dignity! But there was a method to her madness. If she spun back around, she could put the momentum of her pivot into the force of a roundhouse kick by swinging her leg up from the ground at the same time! The roundhouse kick was one move she'd studied extensively in her training, and it was one of the staples of Muay Thai - as well as one of the style's hardest hitters. Now, Blair wanted to get the most out of it as she could!

In a flash, she spun around in place, and her leg went cracking into the air. Before Suzan had a chance to defend herself, Blair's kick slammed into her side, sending her staggering! As she came back around to face her foe, Blair dropped back into her stance, planting both feet on the mat. The corners of her lips turned up in a smile. She'd actually managed to hit Suzan - she was making progress! It might have been far longer into the match than she would have liked, but she had actually done some damage, and it seemed like it was something that set Suzan back, at that. Now, Blair felt like she was getting somewhere. If she could land one blow on Suzan, she doubtlessly could land another!

Lunging in closer, Blair went to close the distance on her foe while she was stunned. As she came into range, she drew her arm back bent at the elbow, prepared to lash out with a jab to Suzan's chest. If that landed, she would proceed to swing that same arm upward to connect an uppercut to her opponent's jaw!

Suzan would parry the jab with her left hand before striking her with a hard hitting Choku Zuki (straight punch) towards her torso.

As Blair was about to find out, Suzan may have faltered, but she was far from out of this match. The Muay Thai fighter saw that she had been staggered, and she saw her chance - she was quick to close in, tailing after her foe with her fists drawn back to lay into her. But perhaps she had gotten ahead of herself. After Suzan had thwarted every attempt Blair made to take back control in its tracks, no matter how hard she tried to stay ahead, the fact that she had actually managed to land a blow at all was an exhilarating feeling. Suzan was a rookie, she was a former champion - it was just right. The sensation sent her veins awash with adrenaline, the very fact of her success proving to her that she had hope, and she had a future. There was also the fact that she was so angry over her previous lack of success - not only with Suzan for staying ahead of her, but with herself for not doing better against an opponent she knew she could do better against - and it had begun to cloud her judgment. Whatever the case might have been, when Blair saw that Suzan was open, she ran right in to try and take her down, desperate to stay ahead. But Suzan would be ready.

Just as Blair's fist came in toward Suzan, the blonde lifted her hand, catching it in midair! For a moment, Blair's jaw dropped in a gasp, and her eyes went wide. How could a Young Lioness have been able to intercept her like that, she asked herself? No - the real question was why she had let that happen! Blair's teeth clenched, and her fingers balled into a fist as she thought about it. But that wasn't doing anything to save her. Not from what would come next, as Suzan nailed a punch straight into her torso!

The pain exploded through Blair's core. She hissed in pain, doubling over at the waist as she panted out a few ragged gasps. Her eye twitched as she grumbled to herself at the thought that she had actually let her hit her. But as Blair's gaze drifted upward, seeing Suzan there before her, her teeth clenched tighter, and she let out a snort of disgust. She couldn't let Suzan mock her like this. She knew she could be better than this, and if she would have to prove it, she would. She couldn't let the pain get in her way!

Pushing herself a little further forward, Blair swung her fist up in an arc, aiming for Suzan's chin! If all worked according to her plan, she would be able to leverage the momentum with which she rose to deliver an uppercut!

Suzan blocks her attempt with her knee before preforming a push kick to her torso before ducking down and throwing a left/right hook combo that ends with a knee strike to her chin.
