Sandra was pulling at her opponent's arms to break the hold but even with her huge size advantage, she was in an unfavourable position, allowing Mariah to still retain control, although lessened by Sandra’s attempts. It was not what Sandra hoped for but it was enough to let her think of another way out.

With one hand, she would keep pulling at the hold her opponent had on her but her other hand, instead of assisting in this would swing back to hit Maria’s abdomen to make her let go, if one strike was not enough, she would hit again and again until she had no other choice but to let go!
