Dance of the Yōkai: Chie Akiyama (D) vs Alba Garcia

After dodging out of harm's way, Chie would take a second to breathe as well, recuperating after taking a good bit of damage on the outside. Had she been any less aware of her situation, Chie would've been folded and demolished by that Dropkick attempt. There was no denying that Alba had a good deal of potential within her, but Chie couldn't afford to lose after such a sloppy performance in her debut match...Chie usually carried a disdain for younger foes, mainly due to how they had no sense of risk or danger, throwing themselves around without a care for their own bodies and performing moves that could cut their careers short. It made her own career-ending injury ache with pain just from the memory...However, Alba was different. She had drive and patience...a calm temper, but a passionate mind. In stories, she'd be the classic underdog, struggling til the bitter end to claim her sweet victory...

Unfortunately, this was no bedtime fairytale...

Chie grabbed Alba from behind, lifting her up in a Deadlift position after wrapping her arms around the smaller woman's frame. She carries her off the mat and arches her back, leaning backward in a swift, clean arc and delivering a powerful German Suplex, modified with a Dangling Toss!!! The white-haired woman whips Alba backward, driving her into the canvas back-first, slamming her and going for a bridge, trying to keep her pinned down while she was folded in half.

Alba Garcia was struggling after missed maneuver, managing to bring herself back up to her feet despite the horrible landing. She needed a moment. Just one more moment. Then she could follow up and attack Chie. Keep up her offense. Try to close out this match. Get her first win. However, Akiyama had other ideas, and she was already quick to beat the Spanish Dancer to the punch.

Garcia was grabbed from behind. Her eyes went wide as she tried to pull herself away for one moment. "No!" She knew whatever was about to come would be quite horrible. Painful. And what came after was worse than that. A German Suplex sent her up and over and smashing onto the back of her head! She landed hard, and her head spun and reeled from it. And worse yet, she was being held down for the pinfall.

"ONE!"

"TWO!"

"THR--"

With a cry of pain, Alba Garcia managed to barely throw her weight aside, breaking the pinfall! And she panted on her side, head still in immense pain while she was coping after that giant move from Chie!

Chie was surprised that Alba managed to break the pin. She seemed like she was not only out of breath but out of hope, too...She had gone limp for a second there, but then-...all of a sudden, like a flash of crackling lightning rippling through the crowds, a spark lit up in the Spaniard's body, giving her the fight she needed to break free to keep on going. When all hope seemed lost, Alba managed to hold on by the skin of her teeth, keeping herself in this fight for a tad while longer...much to Chie's bewilderment, but also...to her approval. She gives Alba a respectful pat on her body, softly communicating her respect before standing herself back up, waiting for Alba to rise on her own. "Good effort...well, if you're so desperate to keep going, then stand back up, dear...We've got a match to continue, no? Show me that spirit." She said, softly encouraging her Spanish opponent to get back up. Chie liked the display Alba was putting on. It was valiant, foolish, risky, and commendable...but spirit wouldn't be enough to win the Spanish Dancer this match. If she wanted to achieve greatness, she'd have to climb this mountain and overcome Chie. The white-haired woman stretches and raises her hands up, readying herself for Alba's next move as she beckons the young woman to come at her.

Alba Garcia was in a great deal of pain after that German Suplex, but she wasn't about to let that put her away. She kicked out narrowly, and was not laying on the mat, panting and trying to block out the pain. With a groan, she heard Chie talking to her and giving her an opportunity to stand and fight back.

Akiyama was that confident she'd win, and that was burning Alba greatly. She deserved more respect than that for all of the work she put into this. Scowling, Garcia started to push her front off the ground, taking deep, shallow breaths as she fumed.

Finally, she let out a loud yell and got a foot under her and sprung directly towards Chie, looking to surprise Akiyama with a double leg takedown! If successful, Alba would then unleash all of her frustration by throwing left and right punches right at Chie's head! The Spaniard was reaching her limit, and she was going to unload that on her confident opponent now!

Chie spurred her opponent into rising yet again, for better or worse...the fox-themed Joshi ignited a passionate yet furious spark within the Spanish Dancer, invigorating her foe with her words, but not in the way she intended. Alba took Chie's statement as a mocking remark made in passing. This infuriated Alba to no end, and it showed on her face and in her reaction as she yelled with a ferocity unseen before. The Spanish woman charged forward and tackled Chie to the ground!!! This came as a surprise, to be sure, but the former MMA fighter was well-experienced with these iconic positions, having gone through both the receiving and giving end of a 'ground-and-pound' series of mounted punches. She kept her hands up and blocked whatever frantic blows she could as Alba continued to rain fire from above upon the downed kitsune-themed grappler.

Alba Garcia used her adrenaline to power her through a ground and pound--which was certainly outside her normal moveset. Fists rained down at Chie in anger and frustration as she tried to do as much damage as she could to her opponent! She knew she just needed to get some damage on her now while she could. Even as Akiyama was keeping her arms up to block as many as she could, Alba tried to continue breaking it to hit her.

But finally, she had given that up, instead grabbing those arms and pulling herself up with a fierce yell. She would then tug Chie up to a sitting position as she backed up and released her opponent's arms! She needed to make another attack--something a little more meaty and solid this time! She hoped that Chie would continue to be surprised by the Spaniard! She lined up Akiyama before rushing forward the small distance and then throwing her knees directly towards her sitting opponent! She wanted to hit her with the Meteora she called the Starshot! If Alba could hit that, she hoped that she could do some serious damage to her foe and put her in a much better position now!

Chie defended against the Spaniard's barrage of blows, her forearms continuing to grow more and more fatigued. She needed to find a way out of this, and fast. Although tougher than Alba, it wasn't wise of Chie to freely take hits like this. However, Alba managed to stay a step ahead of the fox-themed wrestler, forcing Chie to sit upright, surprising Lady Kitsune with the unorthodox maneuver. Before Chie could get a read on her opponent, Alba quickly launched herself back at the white-haired woman with haste!!! The Spaniard rushes in with a Meteora, looking to deliver SERIOUS damage to Chie. The hit connects with a sizable impact sounding off throughout the ring as Chie was briefly ROCKED, one of Alba's knees having caught her square on the jaw!!! The crowd grows enthusiastic over the display of heart and determination, wondering if this truly could be the Spaniard's time to shine!!!

Alba Garcia let out a yell as she landed the Starshot flush to her opponent! Chie Akiyama went down as all of Alba's weight landed on her! She took down her foe and then slammed a hand on the mat. She felt that adrenaline going through her, blocking out the pain she was in, and just driving her to succeed and thrive! She didn't often have advantages like these, so she had to take full advantage of it! Taking a deep breath, Alba stood up and then ran around the ring to pick up momentum! She leaped over top of Chie's prone body and kept racing towards the opposite side of the ring!

The Spaniard rebounded, going at a full sprint before suddenly rolling forward and springing up high and attempting to land down across Akiyama's body with a Rolling Senton she calls Rising Dawn! And impressive spring and height that Garcia got could lead to even more devasting pain onto her opponent and allow Alba to take a truly commanding lead--one she was desperate for in order to get a win!

Alba was on an impressive hot streak, bolting around the ring to build up momentum. The crowd was cheering her name, thoroughly invigorated by the tan-skinned woman's fiery passion and unyielding determination. If anything was clear, it was that Alba had an undeniable fanbase growing in the audience tonight. Once the high-flying woman had gotten enough speed, she transitioned into a beautiful, well-executed roll followed by a pristine vault into the air, soaring through the sky like a bird!!! The display was so clean and elegant, showcasing Alba's incredible talent within the ring. This could be the young woman's big break!!!

But unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be...

Mere moments before impact, Chie managed to raise her knees up, protecting her body by folding her legs over, which would leave Alba with a far rougher landing surface!!! Upon contact, Alba would feel a surge of pain coursing through her as she crashes back-first against the Japanese woman's shins and knees as opposed to her softened-up stomach.

Alba Garcia was about to keep her offense going and lay another crippling blow on Chie Akiyama! She rolled forward, building up more momentum as she sprung up high, continuing her body's roll! It looked as impressive as it was effective! The Spaniard's body flew, and then tragically for her, it went for an abrupt stop. Her spine landed on the outstretched knees of her foe!

"Aaaah! Ah! Ah!" shouted Alba as her body bounced briefly before she landed on her backside in front of Chie. She curled over onto her side, letting out loud moans of pain as she held her back. This was terrible for Garcia. All of that momentum, dashed in an instant as she was wide-eyed, trying to cope with that pain.

And she couldn't do anything about it. Moving hurt too much immediately. And even breathing hurt when those knees had so suddenly pierced her back behind her lungs. With a loud groan, Alba was only able to hope that Chie couldn't take advantage of the situation just yet. If she was able to keep Akiyama from getting a full advantage again, she could still hang in this match, at least.
