They were good elbows. Severin hasn't trained to make much use of them himself, but from what he's seen, if she'd caught someone her size with those, it would've served her well. Not that they didn't hurt, but as it was, he could've pushed past that. And tried for a pass to secure her head or something.

Instead, he rolled away. Gave her a little distance, let her reset.

Okay. Three times ought to be enough. Two more times to catch her, then he starts going in if he gets another advantage. He waited until she was ready, then stepped forward, one hand raised with the fingers spread out. A classic invitation for a test of strength that he didn't expect her to engage in. Not head-on, anyway.

A lightbulb dinged to life above his head as he recalled something that Alix tried a couple times. They didn't work out for her, but maybe it was because she brought too much focus to the fingers she had by her side, he thought. Wiggling them about, making it clear that she intended to do something with that hand.

But he'd follow the rest of her example: Wait until Yui brought a hand up to meet his, if she felt so inclined -- he kept his eyes open for any other movements. But if she went along with that program, at least for the moment, he'd take a false start, feigning a step forward into a shoot for her legs. See how she reacts, and move accordingly.

Her elbows struck the man behind her, hitting his sides repeatedly to escape his hold. Downed in the mat, Severin had no room to dodge with their close contact which served Yui greatly as she can feel his hold loosened until he let go of her entirely.

Rolling away, she reoriented herself.

She can't beat this guy in straight up fight especially in the strength department. Severin is just too big for her to tackle at this point. She has to improvise for a bit.

Not waiting for the man to attack, Yui immediately rushed to tackle the man back to the mat in order to turn it into a ground based fight. She's more flexible (probably) and smaller figure so she might bee able to control the match that way.

Also she needs is to catch him in a hold.
