As Kate felt her leg grabbed, she realized she played exactly to Mindy's hand at that moment. All the same, the woman acted too fast from there for Kate to be able to back off as her leg was twisted, putting her entire body off balance as she fell down, extending her arms to catch herself as she fell. That was the end of good news for her though as Mindy kept a tight hold of her leg.

Then a sudden pull, legs wrapping around one of hers and an explosion of pain coming up from her foot, through the overextended tendons that felt like they were about to snap. It took a lot of restraint for Kate not to cry out in paying, clamping her jaw tight and slamming her fist into the mat as Mindy gloated at the moment. "Ghhhrr... Tough... Fucking... Chance... Kha!" She spat back through her teeth as the pain grew but she wasn't about to give in, she had to keep calm and though it felt like a herculean task she'd start sitting up to get in a better position to escape as for now all she could do was to try and resist her leg being pulled further into the hold.

It was always amusing to see people resist the urge to scream, as if it did anything to blunt the pain you felt and the pain was all that mattered to Mindy. She wanted to feel the leg bend and feel Kate's body endure pain until it finally relented, and she knew Kate was really trying to escape and keep on her tough girl facade that Mindy was going to break like she would her ankle. Kate tried sitting up so Mindy would twist the ankle back using her legs to hold her thigh in place while extending her foot a few more inches past her limit.

"Mindy Midnight rarely tastes defeat, you're not the kind of combatant that can put fear in the hearts of one who's experience is as vast as mine." Mindy said before trying to turn herself around, rolling her body and Kate's leg to make her face the front so that she could let go of her leg with her own and instead try to stand up with the ankle lock still in place.

Kate was making progress but it was slow and plainly visible, something Mindy had no intention of letting slide. With the control she had on the ground, she could easily turn them around and stand up instead of locking Kate up with her legs and in a now more dominant seeming position she'd continue to gloat. As much as Kate would love to ridicule the way she spoke of herself in the third person, she had way bigger problems right now, luckily, a new position also meant new openings.

The ankle lock relied heavily on the angle of application, that's why you'd secure it with your own legs to keep it steady. Were Kate to manage her initial strategy and sit up, she could have pealed the securing legs off and with some further positioning, slip out. That didn't happen but instead, the security on her legs was lifted and though the pressure only grew, she remained calm. without Mindy's legs keeping her in place, she'd get her arms under her chest, push up and twist to the side, forcing the leg in the hold to do the same and though it would initially spike the pain further, it would subside as it broke the extension angle of the actual hold. From there, Kate would get her free leg and kick at the crook of Mindy's knee, hoping to force her to get down on it before pulling on her leg to force her completely down and attempt to slide her leg out of her grasp in the scramble

Choosing to add pressure over control always came with risks that Mindy had to be careful of. She saw Kate trying to push herself off her arms and get back up, watching her for any signs that she would try and roll out of the submission that Kate would need to fight through since that or crawling to the ropes were the two main wars of escaping the hold. Kate knew that, and was smarter about escaping since she avoided both of them and instead rolled to the side and put more pressure on her ankle to get closer to Kate and kick her knee. Mindy didn't scream from the pain, but she almost fall when her leg was kicked out from under and making Mindy almost trip.

She was able to stay on her feet at first, but then Kate pounced on her slip up and kicked her leg forward, and since Mindy was off balance and on one leg she ended up going with the leg! "Waaaahh!" Mindy screamed, her foot hitting the mat to try and stop her from going forward and falling until she was stretched out and hit the mat face first before she finally let go of Kate's leg. Despite the mat burning some of her skin from the fall and the embarrassment of the fall itself, Mindy tried to scramble her way back up since she knew Kate was free and the fear of that bitch getting on top of her helped her ignore the pain for a moment.

Finally free, Kate saw her opponent scramble away and though she'd want nothing more than to keep her on the ground and give her exactly what she thought of her up close, it was probably better that way. With her leg so freshly a target of a hold, Kate's mobility was not looking too good and she might not catch Mindy in the first place, and to be frank, she could use a second to check on her damaged limb.

Rolling in the opposite direction from Mindy, Kate would get to the corner and sit up, bringing her leg closer to her body. It was just a moment to check for any obvious signs of dislocation, she has missed them in the past in the throws of a fight but this time, it was not that bad. Then she reached back, helping herself up with the ropes and putting more weight on her uninjured leg, the pain in the other one would fade but it would take a moment, one she was sure she wouldn't have as Mindy was not being slowed down by anything quite yet.

The face plant reminded the actress that she didn't even want to be here, she knew this match was below her worth and that it was Kate who needed it more, and that's why she kept trying to get Kate to fight. Mindy already did one favor and wasn't even thanked for it by her opponent's stupid weed haired girlfriend, she wasn't in the mood to do another one. Mindy would get up again still scowling after the fall and looked over at Kate to see that she was worried about her leg, giving Mindy a target in mind. She debated leaving the ring again and getting a weapon while she turned around completely so that the two were looking at each other, making the crowd excited for another round of action.

"I can give you a matching set and make the other hurt too." Mindy threatened and started to take steps towards Kate as if she planned to honor that threat. When she was still around Karen Meadows was good at targeting limbs, even the legs. Mindy preferred bringing pain over a target, but she could do the same and eyed Kate's other leg the closer she got, hands ready in case Kate tried to attack first.

Standing up, Kate heard the threat and absentmindedly put more weight on her recently targeted leg, with a slight popping sound, the air left the stretched-out joints though it did not help much with the pain itself, not quite yet anyhow. "Try me!" She replied, getting her hands up and switching her stance to southpaw, getting her hurt leg back where it would make for a harder target while Mindy's comment made her pay more attention to her now leading leg's defence.

An attack was however not immediately forthcoming and Kate had no intention of allowing Mindy to keep the initiative if she could do anything about it. Stepping forward, she'd circle to the left, trying to keep her leading leg on the outside of Mindy's frame, a motion that could be hard to recognise for someone not used to fighting southpaws that if she managed to keep it, would allow her a superior angle to fire at lead hook to her opponent's jaw which she'd attempt to follow up by going low on her legs and stepping forward to then push back up with an uppercut to Mindy's stomach!

All eyes were on Kate, even when she was getting up after escaping to see if her leg was hurt. Mindy almost smiled watching her get up wondering if the ankle lock did anything to her, guessing that it might work to her advantage later. Right now Kate got her hands up for a fist fight, something Mindy did smile at wondering if Kate knew that she was good in a fist fight and brought her own hands up to meet Kate head on. She stepped in carefully when she noticed it was southpaw she was using against Mindy's orthodox, not something you pulled off if you didn't know what you were doing and something trained fighters like her still struggled with if they weren't used to it. Still wanting to see what Kate could do made her wait and watch Kate move around with her leading leg before she tried to circle Mindy and keep her off balance, going in once she had a new angle to try and catch Mindy's jaw.

Mindy turned with Kate to keep them facing each other and kept her head a safe enough distance that she could move to dodge the hook before she would step in when Kate went low, eyes on her face the entire time to throw a straight right to the dome. At the same time she tightened up her abs when she went for the punch, wanting to catch her face even if risked a body shot. "Ugh!" Mindy groaned, feeling Kate's fist dig into her abs even when they were prepared but hoped her right was able to catch her face so she could try and throw a left hook after it.

Darting in, Kate needed to calculate fast as she saw her first punch get dodged and the straight come her way, she was already partway in for the second blow and the risk seemed worth it as she tightened her neck to not let Mindy's punch knock her head around too much, still, her vision came out of focus as the strike rocked her, shaking her balance just a little as she managed to dig in her fist into Mindy's midsection and up close now, they were in Kate's territory. The incoming hook would get framed as Kate would get a palm of her hand onto Mindy's elbow.

Especially when it came to boxing, Kate was an in-fighter and all of her other skillset only compounded on that fact. Risking a hook and letting her close enough for an uppercut was a mistake, no matter who it was making it. Head to head now, Kate would waste no time, throwing a swift headbutt up close to slam her forehead against Mindy's nose to then follow with a hook aimed at the head and another uppercut to the belly, aiming to walk down the actress straight to the ropes!

Mindy cocked Kate's ugly face when she hit her as well, putting them in a sort of equal ground for the fight which Mindy hated. She wanted to send Kate back on her ass and make the stupid bitch cry for thinking she stood equal to Midnight, the one who stood above everyone. Kate took her punch on the chin and pulled her in close to try and take her down. Mindy was trained to handle situations like this, both for her training for shows and movies and just because she naturally took self defense classes when she was still the actress Karen Meadows. One trick Karen learned that she rarely needed to use was how to fight off any attacker. Mindy's thoughts went to that lesson when Kate tried to throw her head at her like a madwoman. A headbutt that made Mindy try to push Kate away and bring her knee up....Going right back between Kate's legs.

She had no interest in providing Kate with a fair and honorable fight, this was no holds barred and so she was given permission to use anything. So she would, so long as she didn't put herself at risk like Kate did with a headbutt, she preferred the low blows and any follow ups like closing in after the knee to throw a few hooks in a clinch aimed for Kate's liver.
