Jessica launched the kick with abandon. Kicks tended to be that way - you had a lot more power, but you gave up a lot of stability. With power like Jessica's, she always found the trade off worth it. Marisa moved to catch her leg, but Jessica was a runaway freight train that could only be stopped with Herculean effort. She found the dark-haired woman's efforts to be amusing, watching the woman awkwardly grope at her thick thighs.
But then the situation changed, rapidly. Marisa was not going to be on the defensive the whole night, as it turned out. Jessica's blow hit home, even if it did so slightly awkwardly. Just as Jessica was consolidating to try and launch another endeavor at Marisa's soundness of body, the dark-haired woman went on the move. That surprised Jessica, much to her detriment.
Marisa moved forward, and the Violent Violet was caught off guard. The lariat caught Jessica at her most unready, and the blow leveled Jessica, sending her plummeting to the mat. She let out a grunt as she smacked against the canvas.

If Marissa moved too quick, she would have perhaps rotated fully into thin air, with that lariat of hers cleaving at nought but empty space.
Had she moved too late, Jessica could have simply latched on her from the back or sides, and unleashed whatever misery she so deemed the Brit worthy of. Marissa imagined she had a few ideas.
But to her luck, that spinning blow of hers hit exactly where and when it needed to, rocking Jessica to the mat much like her own motions had done to Marissa in the early segments of the match. Unsurprisingly, Marissa didn't stop there.
Her momentum carrying her a little to Jessica's side, legs wobbly upon the canvas as she caught herself, those feet of hers would leave the canvas the moment both were on them, in effort to deliver a strike to Jessica quickly enough that the violet was still somewhat bouncing still when it hit. Jumping off the canvas and cutting the short distance between them, with feet only gaining a little height, bent legs soon turned straight as Marissa brought them down; feet poised and flat, as she tried to drive them straight into the violets sharp abdomen.

Jessica's arms and legs flew akimbo for a second the first time that she hit the mat. The devastating power that Marisa brought with the lariat could not be denied. The Violent Violet would have denied it with her mouth, but her body was telling a different story. When she started to bounce, she started pulling in a little bit, both to try and defend herself and to try and make sure that she could get up and take the fight back to Marisa. Marisa, however, had other plans, much to Jessica's detriment.
Two feet slammed into her stomach. In an instant, all of the air was ripped from her lungs and Jessica was left a sputtering mess. She grabbed at her tight abs for a second, and much to her surprise, they had not been turned to jelly by the hellacious stomp. Her heart was still beating and she was still awake. So despite the set back, she still had a chance. A slimmer chance given what had just happened, but she was going to throw herself through any window of opportunity that she got.
She grabbed at Marisa's legs, and tried to pull them over to the side. It wasn't much of an attack, but it was really all she could do given the situation. And if it threw the dark-haired woman off balance, Jessica was all for it.

The move was a hell of a vicious one, but a double stomp, pain in her feet aside, was a move Marissa delivered with intent to roll onwards from in the off-chance it missed. To her luck, she wouldn't have to, given Jessica served as quite the firm landing pad, but inner voices screaming that the move could have indeed gone astray from its mark in the first place inadvertently made the Brit hold back on some force.
Though, not much.
Feet soon slipping off the violent until she was on a firm base on that flat canvas, Marissa turned her head the moment she felt Jessica's arms grip around her; a firm pull soon enough to send Marissa toppling. Falling parallel to the violet beauty, though head-to-toe, Marissa brought both arms under her frame to support a landing, as her body held itself up as if committing to a press-up.
One that soon turned into yet another sudden if rough variant of attack, as Marissa pushed herself upwards just a little. Top half left airborne, as the arm nearest to Jessica's sharp midriff came down with elbow a-pointing.

There was no wind in her sails, and Jessica was in a tight spot. She knew that. Marisa seemed like the type of woman that the only way by her was through her, and Jessica was pretty confident that she could not simply roll away and hope for the best. So when the dark-haired woman came crashing down to the mat, Jessica's mood was buoyed, and she turned to face her opponent. She had always been more of the power type, but her hours of practice meant that she had a pretty strong ground game.
A ground game that she unfortunately would not be able to show. Just as Jessica was preparing herself to get her paws on Marisa, the darkhaired woman struck. Once again, Marisa was going for her stomach, and once again Jessica felt the air escape her body in one big rush. The Violent Violet lacked the air to even gasp. She was left on the mat, clutching at her tight abs.

If Jessica had rolled, or merely tanked the blow as Marissa came down upon her, the Brit would have been open to punishment to say the least, given she was all too aware of the effects of ones rage building when suffering attack after attack. When Jessica had chance to hit her in return, it'd be sure to hurt like hell. Marissa simply had to make that when, a if.
Rolling onto her front in the direction of Jessica, briefly pushing up on her hands, Marissa latched upon the nearest arm offered to her as if it were a prize. Intent on bending it one way then the other, Marissa turned to press her back into Jessica's side, as she hugged and pulled that arm underneath her now-sideways figure, almost as if hiding it from Jessica herself. That way, the armbar she soon sought would require the violet to bust through the entirety of that staunch figure now pressing against her, if Jessica wished to bring about an end to it.

Jessica felt her arm being pulled by Marisa, but she was too preoccupied with the pain in her stomach to really do anything about it. It was a shame, really, because if Jessica had the capacity to focus on those two different things she might not have been placed in the situation she was forced into when Marisa slapped a torturous armbar on her. Jessica kicked at the mat in pain and fury as rippling pain shot through her arm. Her face contorted as she dealt with the darkhaired woman applying extreme force to her arm.
The Violent Violet defended the only way that she knew how, by launching punch after punch at Marisa. It was a bad angle, sure, and Marissa seemed like a tough woman. But Jessica could be pretty damn tough herself, as she tested her knuckles against whatever bits of flesh Marisa would have for her. And she would tug a little bit on her own arm too, dangerous as it was...

Marissa knew those strikes would come, but even with bracing, she couldn't endure them for long. Pound for pound, Jessica was annoyingly strong. Perhaps even more so than Marissa herself. A fact, even a possible one, that made her wrench that arm as far as she could, before inevitably that break came. Rolling away from her foe and over that arm, onto her knees facing Jessica, a follow-up assault this time didn't come. Instead, Marissa took the time to breath; slowly rising to her feet with right knuckle level with her hips, as her left came behind her back. Finding a way in against this violet beauty was becoming a task in itself, evidently, as her head fell down just slightly, letting a few beads of sweat come from her chin to the canvas.

Jessica's arm was relinquished back to her, and Jessica could not have been happier. A lot of her potential to win matches came from her arm, be it in the form of a devastating strike or aiding in a throw that sent the other woman careening across the ring. Sure, she had taken some damage, she could not deny. But she had not been pushed to her limits. At least, not yet anyways. She held her arm as she got up, but it did not require more nursing until Jessica felt that she was on top of her game.
And Marisa was hanging back. All the worse for her, she felt, because had the shoe been on the other foot Jessica would have pressed her momentum for all it was worth. Trying to build something of her own, Jessica darted forward and pepper a few leg kicks at her opponent's shins. It wasn't really anything too serious. But it would hopefully get the dark-haired woman on the back heel, so that Jessica could go for something huge...

Rolling her head left and right, trying to keep herself in the zone as it were and work towards figuring out just how this violet haired beauty rolled, Marissa indeed turned on the backpedal soon enough. Those kicks reigning in almost like bug bites, Marissa pushed herself back in a similar pace to Jessica's pace forward; bringing one leg back the moment her foe went for it. Her arms up high just in-case Jessica opted for a shift-up though, it was in mere seconds that Marissa soon found herself with her back to the ropes.
It gave her something to brace against, and steady herself against any strikes that indeed would come her way. A part of her though, sensed this was all part of Jessica's plan...
