Divine would need to rethink this. She had come in expecting something quick and easy - an inexperienced opponent, a playful romp, something that she could have fun with and end whenever she pleased. What she was getting, instead, was turning into a real challenge, as Miriam proved that she was no one to be taken lightly in the oils.
Not a problem, mind you. She welcomed the competition. But it meant Divine needed to bring out some real strategy to this affair, lest she wind up steamrolled.
She was already breaking out some of the fine china with this ankle lock, a move she could only recall using in dry matches. To Miriam’s credit, she took the move far better than most women would’ve in the same situation. No panicking, no anguished cries of pain. No, she was planning something. Smart woman.
A deft move - she spun about, redirected the force, making Divine hold her at an awkward angle. By the time she had adjusted, it was too late - Miriam had slipped free and backed away. It was tempting to dive in after her, but Divine saw those legs, poised to strike. She couldn't be too hasty.
She moved in with open arms, but instead of going straight for Miriam, Divine threw herself to the woman’s side when she close enough, trying to avoid those legs. Once she was clear, she pounced, attempting to get on top of her opponent and pin her down from the side, looking to exert some control.
