Case File: “Ol Gloria” - Clarice Somerset vs Gloria Star

This would be the first time in the match that Clarice did a misstep and it costing her dearly. She was looking to go for a simple body slam to Gloria but she would stumble forward when Gloria moved back a bit and hit Clarice with a devastating spear into the sternum. That caused the LA Detective to gasp and hold her chest in pain. She didn’t expect Gloria to catch her off guard like that and Clarice was staggering now.

Clarice would be trying to do damage control by rolling onto her stomach away from the ropes. This would be another mistake on her part as if she were to roll out of the ring, she would’ve had a chance to create some breathing room and reset the match. However, Clarice picked the latter so she would now be laying prone in the middle of the ring, breathing a bit more heavier thanks to that spear by Gloria.

While to some doing a spear would a be a risky gamble but for people like Gloria, she had to do it. Gloria was willing to risk a spear if it meant getting a leg up in this bout and…. It succeeded!!! Gloria’s spear knocked the windpipes out of Clarice leaving her down on the mat to weak to fight back as off now.


Gloria would rise to her feet getting some applause from the audience causing her to turn and wave as if she saved the day from a villain before turning her attention back on Clarice.”Just so you know Clarice, I don’t see you as a heel or anything so I won’t use moves that are made for people who are just here to hurt others.” She spoke down to Clarice reassuring her she won’t go too far with what she’s about to do in a calm almost friendly tone.”But. You’ve shown me so far you aren’t just some gal LAW booked against me to make me look good. So out of respect for you’re performance I won’t hold back with my regular moveset understand?” Gloria added on complimenting her for her performance and giving her the respect deserves. “So try this!” Gloria let out a bit winded from everything as she went to grab Clarice by the legs and turn her body around so she would be face first on the mat with Gloria aiming to sit on top of her going a classic Boston crab!

Clarice would listen to the monologue of Gloria while she was prone. She was a talker like her but the style of how they talk are very clearly indicated. Gloria had this boom to her voice, like any superhero would. Meanwhile, Clarice was more soft spoken and linguistic, like she was emphasizing words to the sound of smooth jazz. But that was neither the time nor place to talk about accents and speech patterns.

Clarice would be placed in a devastating Boston crab. She felt the weight of Gloria onto her lower back as she screamed in pain. The referee got down and asked if she wanted to submit. However, Clarice shook her head no. That was when she would fight it out and slowly but surely start making her way towards the ropes for a rope break.

With Gloria now in the lead she wanted to test Clarice to see how good she truly was by testing her endurance. So naturally the first thing Gloria would do was a simple yet effective Boston crab! Given the weight difference of 80 pounds, Gloria would practically be crushing the life out of Clarice. To prevent that Gloria didn't sit down on her as much she could to not cause any permeant injury to the young detective, but just enough to where the ref would be asking if she would tap out or not. Speaking which as the ref came down to ask Clarice the question a thought came through Gloria's mind."Please say no Clarice. This match is starting to become fun. After my last match I've been looking someone like you who can give me a good run for my money. So show me you're willing to go beyond your limits...." Gloria said to herself and much to her surprise, Clarice shook her head wanting to fight through the pain to reach the bottom rope giving Gloria a small smile on her face.

"Smart choice, just for that.... you've earned the honor of one of my signatures... So HOLD ON!!!" Gloria said in an odd mix of respect and excitement as she rolled over hanging onto Clarice's legs. If success Gloria would aim to wrap her arm around Clarice's neck and the other around both her legs and press one foot on her back."Say Hello to my signature Clarice.... Or should I say it's proper name.... STAR ARROWW!!!" Gloria added on calling out the name of her signature move that won her plenty of matches when she was starting out in the indie circuit and now being used in LAW!

Clarice would be near the ropes for the rope break. However, it seemed like Gloria had other plans as Clarice was then dragged back to the center of the ring before the submission would transition into a one-legged bow and arrow submission. More damage to the young detective’s back. She screamed out in pain as her spine was being folded in half in this position.

“Son of a bitch! My back! Ow! My back!”

The hold would be taking a toll on Clarice as the referee again asked her if she wanted to submit. However, she wasn’t the grittiest and successful detective in Los Angeles for giving up in a pinch so again, she shook her head no. Clarice would start trying to wiggle her way out of the submission as she was easing the pain on her back. However, with how tight the submission hold Gloria had on her, getting out costed her to exceed a lot of energy to do so.

Gloria busted out one of her prime signatures to really test Clarice's mettle and it seemed to be working. Despite the cries of pain from Clarice she refused to tap out bringing a smile to the red, white and blue superhero. Clarice would thankfully wiggle herself out slowly but surely despite how much Gloria kept her grip on her. When she did escape, Gloria jumped up and looked down at Clarice putting her hands firmly on her hips."I'm impressed that you took those holds like a champ. Who knows maybe when we're done I'll invite you for a workout session." Gloria lightly chuckled upon her offer to her fellow competitor."However I still got to win this match so try this." Gloria added on before turning around to begin climbing up the turnbuckle.

Once she was settle, she stood high above for all to see with the crowd cheering her on as Gloria raised a finger straight into the sky."While it's true I may not have the ability to fly in the air that doesn't mean this Star can't soar!!!!" Gloria let out as she got into position to jump off and land right on top of Clarice. "STAR... SPRANGLED.... SPLASH!!!!" Gloria yelled her next signature move a frog splash that was simple but dangerous as given her weight she could crush Clarice underneath her weight and if successful would hook the leg for a pin!

Clarice held her whole body in pain after getting out of the Star Arrow. However, she would still be in the sights of the large super heroine as she could only hear the crowd cheering the superhero on. There she saw Gloria standing on the top rope, a dangerous sight to see with her gonna be the victim of being squashed with a splash. As she watched Gloria in the air, she couldn’t move out of the way as Gloria’s Star Spangled Splash connected. She would then be pinned as the referee got down to begin counting.

No. Clarice managed to power out of it and kick out. It took a lot out of her but she was still in the match, just struggling to deal with Gloria.

Gloria took flight to come down and landed right on top of Clarice's body! "OHHHHHH!" Some members in audience covered their eyes upon the impact getting a feeling for how much pain poor Clarice was in right now. It seemed like it was over as Gloria merely hooked the legs for the pin as the ref began to count. After the first two Gloria began to slowly frown as it seemed like this match was over before it truly begun, perhaps she was too strong for her own good. That was until she felt something kicking out of nowhere causing her eyes to light up in shock as Clarice wasn't done yet!


"WOAH!" Gloria let out as the surprise of this kick didn't give Gloria enough time to react and in doing so caused her to let go of Clarice! People in the audience gasped in response as they too thought the case was closed for this detective but it wasn't now."Hehe, good." Gloria chuckled as she pushed herself up to a standing position looking down at Clarice."I got to applaud you Clarice, I thought this match was over but you still kept fighting. That takes real determination and as a gesture of good will I'll give you a breather, kay?" Gloria added on smiling down on the blonde detective showing her an ounce of respect for her perseverance despite everything as Gloria backed away and leaned on the ropes wrapping her arms around them to give Clarice a chance to catch her breathe.

Clarice would be breathing heavy as that kickout took a lot of energy for Clarice to muster up. She would be grateful her opponent was giving her this free breather to regain herself and basically reset herself in this match. Clarice then slowly got up as she cracked her back after being squashed down on it. She would then tip her imaginative fedora at her.

“You fight better than the many muscles I had to fight in my career. You are giving me a challenge, I like that. But no more talk. Let’s get this fight back on the road shall we.”

Clarice would then start throwing some punches. They were quite weak since she just had expelled a lot of energy to keep this match going but Clarice was still showing the heart and grit of one of Los Angeles’ best detectives. Clarice would attempt to grab Gloria by the arm. If she were successful, Clarice would throw her to the ropes. On the rebound she was hoping for, Clarice would try to take Gloria down with a shoulder tackle and repeat.

To say that Gloria was impressed with her opponents resolve would be an understatement. As a way of showing her respect Gloria was leaning back on the ropes with her arms draped across it. That was all until the detective rose to her feet giving Gloria a smile as she pretended to tip a fedora to the superheronie. "I get that a lot." Gloria chuckled at Clarice's first comment before turning her neck to give it a good crack before pushing herself off the ropes and beginning to crack her knuckles. "I agree, so by all means you get the first shot." Gloria grinned confidently as she flexed out her muscles to be on full display as she stood like a statue wanting Clarice to get the first hit in.


When Clarice started unleashing her flurry of punches they didn't pack as much punch as they did earlier but they still got the job done!"OAH! OMPF!" Gloria let out as every punch Clarice sent out it pushed the blonde superhero further and further back as she was now up against the ropes. After a moment Clarice stopped her barrage with Gloria leaning her head down to brush her fist against the mark Clarice gave her."Not bad." Gloria let out a smile at Clarice's offensive but unfortunately her complimenting would be her undoing as she gasped as Clarice grabbed her by the arm and with the strength she could muster sent her to the other side of the ropes!"Oh NO!" Gloria let out as the heavy superhero bounced off the ropes and came back to Clarice like a steaming bull. This in turn gave Gloria an idea as she went to extend her arm to try and hit Clarice with a running lariat but the detective already had a counterattack planned!"OMMMMPFFF!!" Clarice had the speed advantage and it paid off with a well time shoulder tackle knocking her down to the mat!"PLAH!!!" Gloria spat out sputtering as she was now laying down on her back twitching in pain. This sadly gave Clarice the opportunity to continue her assault by sending another flurry of punches her way!"AH! UGH! OMPF!" Gloria's body bounced up and down with every strike as her face contorted in pain with not much room for defense. All the superhero could do was wait it out until this assault had stopped!
