Kayla vs. Ryuko Rematch!

Ryuko saw Kayla rush in and this time she was prepared! As she got close Ryuko quickly raised her knee up trying to crack Kayla in the jaw with a hard knee strike to stop her attack in its tracks! Tyiko was not playing around and put as much force as she could into the hard knee shot.

Ryuko might have gotten away from her once, but Kayla wasn't about to let it happen again. As her eyes narrowed into a glare and her teeth clenched, she lunged forward, sweeping her arms out in front of her to try and tackle Ryuko to the ground. She had been in the dominant position before, and she wasn't about to lose it!

At least, that was what Kayla thought. In reality, she'd been so blinded by her desperation to get one up on Ryuko and to prove she was capable of standing up to her that she wasn't putting as much thought into her actions as she perhaps should have - and she charged straight into the path of a raised knee from the veteran! It clipped her in the jaw, and the sound of the crack from her head being thrown backward in an arc was mixed with the groan that left her throat. Even a good few fans in the crowd had to look on with a wince, as the momentum Kayla propelled herself with could only amplify the force of the blow.

Wincing, she shrunk back into a seated position before Ryuko on the mat, rubbing her head. Now she was wide open for any retaliation Ryuko might have had in store.

Kayla was on the mat and Ryuko knew a good, hard follow up that she could put into effect immediately! She swung her hips around, raising her leg as she aimed a hard spinning heel kick right at the side of Kayla's head! Ryuko was eager to put Kayla out on the mat and she knew that if this connected there was no way Kayla was getting up anytime soon. It was a stiff strike and one Ryuko could easily use in her current position. She had to be smart about her offense this time around as the improved Kayla was not going to be defeated as easily as she was last time.

With the pain throbbing in her temples, Kayla looked on with her teeth clenched. She was frustrated that she hadn't been able to take Ryuko down, as well as that she'd been tripped up so easily. What she knew was that she wanted to turn this around, and fast. From where she sat on the mat, Kayla could see Ryuko turning to connect with a spinning kick aimed right at her head. While she might have still ached from the damage she'd taken, Kayla was even more envigorated to not make the same mistakes she had before! She knew that if Ryuko hit her now, it wouldn't do her any favors. And that simply wasn't anything she could afford!

At the last moment, Kayla threw herself back down to the mat, leaving Ryuko's kick to sail overhead and miss her. She hoped that the veteran would be left off balance as a result, and Kayla would quickly set her sights on letting that play into a counterattack. Rolling herself to her stomach, Kayla began pushing herself back up, but she lifted her leg and threw a mule kick at Ryuko in the process, hoping that it would do the rest of the work in bringing her down!

Ryuko cursed as the woman she thought was wide open moved out of the way! She was off balance as she was mule kicked and the thunder empress stumbled forward onto her hands and knees! "Stupid brat..." Ryuko grumbled as she staggered back up to her feet trying to keep Kayla defensive as Ryuko tries to turn around quickly extending her arm to hit her with a discus clothesline!

Kayla needed to time everything right to make sure it would play out according to plan. Luckily for her, her foot kicked out before Ryuko could balance her stance - and just like that, the veteran was thrown off her footing, going crashing to the ground! At the sight of Ryuko's fall, Kayla smirked. She was content that she'd been able to unseat her opponent, but of course, she knew there was still work to be done.

Ryuko would soon get back up, but Kayla, having bought herself the time to recover, followed her there, and she was quick to adopt a stance. She began moving in closer to her opponent, hoping to take control while she had the opportunity. Ryuko, however, was looking to disrupt those plans, and she lashed out with an arm swinging toward Kayla! Forced to stop what she was doing to defend herself, she halted in her tracks, raising her arms to block the incoming blow. Kayla clenched her teeth, but dug her heels in the ground; she was willing to hold the line if she had to.

The fact that Ryuko didn't send Kayla crashing to the mat was a shock and embarrassment. She leveled women far larger than her like that before so this was an embarrassing insult.

Ryiko screamed and lunged again, leading with her knee as she tried to hammer Kayla, making her pay for putting up such resistance!

In bracing herself and putting up her arms, Kayla had managed to block the blow, staying on her feet. She shook against the momentum of the incoming force, but she spread her feet out further, trying to balance herself and distribute her weight to stay upright. She'd narrowly managed to avoid getting taken down, but it had interrupted her momentum and forced her to ababdon her aggressive advances in favor of protecting herself. In doing so, Kayla had bought Ryuko more time - time the veteran was eager to take advantage of.

Once again, Ryuko lunged closer, this time kicking up with her knee. Kayla didn't have time to block this one, and with her balance already compromised, she was unable to stop what was coming for her. As her knee slammed into her, Kayla fell back, landing on the mat with a thud!

The sound of Kayla hitting the mat was very satisfying as she stood over Kayla although she did not stop to admire her work. Ryuko stomped down on Kayla before jumping up to land on her chest with an elbow drop to keep piling on while hoping to prevent Kayla from getting back up.

Kayla groaned as she fell to the mat, but her teeth soon clenched as she tried to shake the cobwebs out of her head. She couldn't let something like this keep her down - Ryuko, she knew, would be pressing the advantage, and more than that, she knew the veteran would be quite pleased about being able to take Kayla down. It wasn't just a physical battle, but a psychological one at the same time - and Kayla was here to prove herself; she couldn't yield ground in either!

Kayla began to push herself off the mat, glaring at her opponent. But it was then that Ryuko brought her foot down on the Californian, halting her advances. She fell flat on the mat with a groan, reeling from the pain - and it would only get worse as Ryuko followed that up by bringing an elbow drop down hard onto her chest! Throwing her head back, Kayla cried out from the pain, leaving her lying there stunned.
