Velvet Summers (D) vs. Janella Johnson "JJ"

JJ saw Velvet crumple and knew she had a chance to go for a pin! JJ rolled Velvet over onto her back before laying across her chest while reaching down to hook a leg! She was excited, thinking her counter may have done the trick! "Come on ref, count it!" JJ shouted as the official slid in to place to begin the pin count!

"ONE!"

The count had begun as JJ securely kept the dazed Velvet held down to the mat as the referee's hand went back up into the air descending as the count continued.

Velvet groaned outside of the ring, feeling strong hands yank her dead weight back up with ease. A toss sent her rolling back to the center of the ring, with JJ laying over the rookie and tugging up a leg, hanging limp in the air while the weight pressed into her chest, making it hard for her to draw in breath.

"TWO!" called the ref, right as Velvet bucked up her hips. It wasn't much, and it didn't lift her shoulder more than an inch off the ground, but it was enough for the ref to catch sight of it, pointing to the shoulder in question and breaking the count at two, holding up her hand for JJ to see! The crowd's attention was caught there, giving a more generous applause for someone so green to be hanging in there for as long as she was

JJ felt Velvet buck her hips and kick out of the pin leaving JJ surprised. "Okay.... I gotcha, you want more huh?" JJ said as she got up, pulling Velvet up by the arm. JJ kept hold of the arm and stepped towards the ropes twisting her torso to whip Velvet across the ring! JJ bolted the opposite way and bounced off the ropes, running as quickly as she could so she could leap and crush Velvet with the biggest running lariat she could muster!

Velvet turned onto her side, sweat coating her forehead, and her vision swimming in and out of focus...more than likely cause by the roundhouse to the back of her skull. A strong hand snaked under her arm, with JJ talking to her as she brought the newcomer up to her feet. Dazed as she was, she fell against JJ for a moment, hand to her head to try and stop the incessant spinning of the arena. |

A sudden pull yanked her to the ropes, the cable stinging her exposed upper back when she bounced against it. Velvet stumbled forward, one step at a time, before the forearm slammed against her chest with the most hellacious lariat the crowd had ever seen! The sheer force of it turned her inside out, flipping once to land with a heavy crash on her stomach! Her body twitched, gasping for air as her eyes fluttered shut.

JJ saw Velvet crumple and she decided that it was time to try to end this! She hauled Velvet up and moved behind her trying to twist and contort her body to put Velvet in one of her finishers! This was a modified octopus stretch JJ called the stretch-o-matic a move which she wanted to get Velvet to submit to!

"Just give it up, no shame in tapping when you are stuck in the dead center of the ring with nowhere to go!" JJ said, urging Velvet to submit to the hold as she wrenched down, applying all the pressure she could to make it as painful as possible!

Velvet pushed herself up onto her hands and knees with shaking limbs, a thousand thoughts running through her mind. What went wrong?! What did she do?! Why was everything hurting so much?! She couldn't even think straight as JJ pulled her up, before twisting their limbs together in a painful looking Octopus! Oh no! It was the Stretch-O-Matic!!!

Velvet panicked, flailing her hands as she tried to escape, only to hear JJ's words in her ear, telling her to give up. Her voice seemed muffled in the midst of all the pain coursing through her body! Velvet screamed, legs quivering before she fell to the canvas, unable to get free. The ref knelt by her, watching as her hand trembled.....shook.....clenched into a fist.....

....before rapidly tapping JJ's body, "Oh god it hurts!!! I give.....I give!!!!!" she cried, feeling like her limbs were going to tear at any moment!

JJ felt the tap and heard the ring bell, letting go of the hold as she jumped up in the air with her arms held high! She made her way to a turnbuckle and grinned to the crowd, holding her arms out as they cheered her fairly dominant display in the ring. She soaked it up before jumping back off the turnbuckle and walking over to Velvet.

"Hey, are you all right? I mean, that wasn't too much was it?" JJ asked, still getting a feel for the ring on the big LAW stage at this early juncture of her career.

Velvet cradled her arm, groaning as she collapsed into a heap in the center of the ring, looking hopelessly crestfallen. Getting pinned on your debut was one thing, but to tap out in a submission hold? She felt like she was drastically behind all the women of LAW in terms of skill. When JJ came over, part of her was scared that she would attempt a post match slam to establish her dominance, but instead found a much softer and kinder approach, with JJ offering her concern.

With a wince, Velvet pushed herself up to sit on her behind, looking up at her opponent, "Eh....it hurt a lot....but I guess you had to get me to tap somehow......" she replied, more than a little crestfallen.

JJ helped Velvet up and pat her on the back. "I mean, you looked a little lost for a bit but you have the physical tools you need. If ya train like crazy and do it with experienced wrestlers I bet you will he the one winning when the bell rings." JJ saidnteying to encourage Velvet.

JJ nodded to her before making her way to the ropes, feeling good overall about the start to her career here in LAW.
