A Valiant Debut: Belinda Northman vs Makie Akamatsu (D)

Makie found herself panting hard as she pried furiously at Belinda's arm, struggling against both the weight and strength of the taller girl. All the while, of course, Belinda relentlessly bent her chin back, causing her eyes to screw shut with pain. It took a lot of effort on Makie's part to pry down on Belinda's arm...but pry it down she did, just enough to shoot her elbow back and connect with Belinda's jaw! Gratifyingly, Belinda let go at that point, though Makie couldn't tell if the Swede was more hurt or surprised.

Breathing hard, Makie rolled, swiftly getting back up to her knees, breathing hard and red-faced. Seeing that Belinda was giving her the space to get back to her feet, Makie took a deep breath and circled her opponent. "Care to try that again?" she asked, raising her arms as she played defensively for the time being.

[Devastated]

Belinda moved away from Makie after the newcomer had been able to break free from her grip. Rising up towards her feet as she would rub her cheek a bit. She looked at the raven haired girl and watched her get up to her knees, she saw that the moved seemed to have taken a bit out of her, and when she heard Makie's words and saw her rise back up to her feet, the blonde would nod her head at Makie.

As Makie raised her arms up and circled her, Belinda would do the same. She'd suddenly lunge in towards Makie, as if she was going for a lock up. Though this time she wanted to take control of the situation a bit earlier. Trying to lock up with Makie, but quickly slip out of it in an attempt to get in behind Makie and lock her arms tight around her waist. Trying to trap the raven haired girl in a tight waist-lock, before lifting her up and trying to throw her down onto the front for a waist-lock take down!

Makie was still breathing a little hard after having been worked over by that early STF. Belinda not only had strength but also the skill to back it up: fighting her was definitely not going to be an easy prospect by any stretch of the imagination. She watched the Swede warily, as Belinda mirrored her circle. She was still maintaining a healthy degree of respect in her posture and movements, but the Swede's smile was gone now-- perhaps she was seeing that Makie wasn't a pushover?

With a rush of movement, Belinda came lunging in. As it so happened, though, Makie had no intention of maintaining a grapple against a superior foe like Belinda, either: the moment Belinda moved in for a lock up, Makie would slip to the side, trying to grab for Belinda's arm, hoping to catch her wrist, drop low and get Belinda with an armbar takedown!

Instead, however, to Makie's surprise, Belinda darted to the side as well, both girls' counters happening at the same time. Wrong footed, Makie quickly pivoted, trying to make up for her missed surprise move by spinning her body suddenly and whipping her boot into the side of Belinda's head or body for an enziguri kick! "HYAAAH!"

[Devastated]

As they circled and looked for an opening from which they could attack, Belinda had decided to make her own opening. Not looking to go in for a straight up grapple but instead intended to move in behind Makie and wrap her arms around that waist. Though to her surprise as she lunged in and darted to the side, so did Makie! The eyes of the blonde would widened as she was caught off guard by this!

She quickly tried to straighten up and pull back, trying to regroup...however Makie proved to be more aggressive as she twisted her body around and then threw up her leg. Smashing an enzuigiri kick right into the blonde's side! She hissed out in pain and recoiled, stumbling back a couple of steps as she would wrap her arm around her ribs.

"Tch...aren't you a quick one, huh..." Belinda grumbled a bit under her breath. Makie was a speedy fighter and those kind of situations was probably something she'd have to get used to, she thought to herself as she nursed her hurting side.

Makie's enziguri kick landed squarely against the blonde's ribs, sending her staggering back. With Belinda now winded, Makie allowed herself a slight smile. Now, after a shaky start, things were starting to go right in this match, and she had even managed to wrong-foot a wrestler of Belinda's caliber. That alone made Makie's heart swell with pride.

"You don't know the half of it," she replied with a grin, before darting forward, seemingly lunging for a clothesline at Belinda. At the last second, though, she would duck low, trying to run under Belinda's arm, before jumping up, aiming to land with both boots on the middle rope. If all of that went off without a hitch, then she would springboard backwards, aiming to come down hard on Belinda with a surprise moonsault!

Belinda staggered backwards as she held her sides, trying to quell the pain of her now aching ribs! Though her speedy opponent was quick on the offensive once again, as Makie came charging at the blonde for that clothesline! Belinda was about to try and meet the blow and perhaps take Makie down...but to her surprise, the raven haired girl duck to the side and continued to run!

The Swedish-American was quite confused, she stumbled a step forward to try and catch herself, then turned around to face Makie! As she did though the Japanese girl had already springboarded off of the ropes and was on a airborne collision course straight for Belinda!

It was too late for the blonde to stop it though, as Makie's body crashed right into hers! Taking her off her feet and bringing them down onto the canvas with a heavy thud! Belinda flattened underneath Makie as she was brought down flat on her back on the mat!

Makie's heart skipped a beat as Belinda fell for her fake out, preparing to meet a clothesline that simply didn't happen. Things were working so far: she had just managed to wrong-foot Belinda Northman, of all people! Makie pressed her advantage, leaping onto the ropes and springboarding off. There were so many ways in which this high flying move could have gone disasterously wrong, but thankfully, it worked beautifully: Belinda cried out as Makie collided hard with her with an almost perfect moonsault!

Makie didn't pause to celebrate, though: catching her breath, she rolled across Belinda, hooking one of the Swede's powerful legs as she tried to wrap her opponent up for a pin. In an instant, the ref girl was next to them, starting the countdown. "ONE...."

Belinda's eyes widened as she turned around and caught sight of Makie's frame coming towards her, she had no way to stop what was to come...as only a second later the Japanese wrestler crashed into her and took the blonde down flat on her back! Squashed against the canvas underneath Makie's body...Belinda groaned out as the newcomer quickly rolled across the frame of the blonde and pressed her weight down on Belinda's chest, pinning her down against the canvas. Her leg was hooked and a proper pin was made!

The referee slide in next to them and started the count! Slapping her hand down for the first count and raised her hand up as she was about to bring her hand down for a second time!

The blonde groaned out and just before the hand went down for the second time, bucking and thrusting her body to the right to raise her shoulder off the canvas and in the process attempted to shove Makie right off her! The referee would move up and raise one finger up to show that it had ended at a one count!

Makie's heart was racing as she folded back one of Belinda's legs, wrapping the Swede up for a pinfall. The match was barely a few minutes old, and already, she was getting a pinfall attempt. On Belinda Freaking Northman, of all people! She could barely suppress an excited grin: this match was going way better than expected.

The excitement did not last long, however, as Belinda abruptly kicked out with enough force to throw Makie off of her. Huffing, Makie rolled up to her knees and grabbed onto Belinda's golden haired head, trying to pull her upright into a sitting position before wrapping her arms across the other girl's throat and forehead, cinching tightly in a sleeper! "How's that so far, huh Belinda?"she would ask in a friendly taunt.as she squeezed her foe.

Kicking out of the pin attempt Belinda would try and push herself up, but Makie saw fit to help her with that as she took a hold of Belinda's golden hair and pulled her upright into a seated position with Makie behind her. The arms of Makie then wrapped around that head and neck and squeezed upon the blonde in a sleeper hold, a wince and a grumble escaped from Belinda's mouth as her hands shot up and grabbed at Makie's arms.

"N-ngh...G-good..." Belinda grunted out through strained breathing, she would start to shift her legs a bit, trying to get one knee underneath her and then the other. The Swedish American would start to try and rise to her feet and pull Makie up with her, then suddenly would try and swing her arm backwards and ram her elbow into Makie's side! She tried to force Makie to break her hold. Belinda would then try and quickly turn around and aim a sharp forearm strike right across Makie's face as she tried to force Makie back and away to create some distance so she could catch her breath.
