After her last match, Marzia had come so close to victory, she could almost taste it. After she had been caught up in a losing streak that was weighing all too strongly on her, the Italian girl was hoping it was finally time for her luck to turn around - but, unfortunately, this wasn't it. She was beginning to ask herself what the point of it all was, and even when she tried to go back to the gym later in the week, it was hard for her to really work up the will to train. Why bother, she thought, if it wouldn't be enough? But regardless, Marzia's career wasn't over yet - she still had a match on her schedule, tonight. And, even if she wasn't sure what she was getting into, she couldn't just not show up. She had a commitment to make, and, even as she stepped out from the locker room with a sigh, Marzia knew there was no turning back.
Still, as she saw the girl currently in the ring, Marzia couldn't help but take in an anxious breath as she bit her lip. Gail certainly looked tough, and the attitude she showed the crowd told Marzia that she wasn't afraid to back things up with her fists. Great, she thought - as if it wasn't bad enough, now she had to deal with an opponent she already had her doubts about. She glanced back over her shoulder, wondering if she should just quit now - but then, she paused, hearing how the crowd was chanting her regardless. Either it was because the people here really did care about her, or, as the possibility soon crossed Marzia's mind, maybe they just hated Gail so much they wanted to see her taken down. But they could have put their faith in someone else, certainly. Regardless, if someone out there believed in her...Marzia knew she couldn't let them down. At the very least, she would have to try.
Taking in a gulp, she continued down to the ring, where she slid in under the ropes before getting back up to face Gail. She stood tall, as much as she could manage, and balled her fist at her side, to convince herself she looked halfway imposing just as much as she wished for her opponent.
"I, erm...hello..."
