The rookie rolled onto her side, breathing heavily, eyes closed with her cheek resting against the canvas of the ring.
Eventually she dragged herself upright, only to see the referee raising Nandi's hand into the air, confirming the African Queen's victory over her rookie opponent. Emelia blushed crimson and hung her head as the crowds cheered for her opponent. She had a lot more work to do if she wanted to make her mark on LAW, it seemed.
