A Lesson in Toughness (for Fairy Dragon)

Unread post by Dubski »

Rosie Knuckles decided today was a nice enough day to actually dare the public for part of her workout today. Normally, she hated doing that, because why bother with normal people who were boring? Still, the park was calling her, and she wanted to jog. Plus, she had a nice jacket she really thought was adorable and wanted to show off a little bit, even for those normal people she didn't much care for.

She kept her hair tied back so it didn't get in her face when she ran. The park wasn't too busy, at least. So Rosie had a decent time jogging with music playing on her phone, pumping her up for the workout. That is, until she got into a dead zone where she couldn't keep her music playing, so she slowed and let out a groan of annoyance. "Damnit..." said the adorable pink-haired girl, her face looking bothered by the issue she was having.

Then, to her surprise, a man in a tracksuit jogged up beside her and said, "Are you alright?"

Rosie looked over and raised an eyebrow before smiling slightly at him. "Yeah, I'm good. Just got a phone with crappy reception."

Then the man leaned over, wrapping his arm around Knuckles's shoulders. "I know the feeling. Mine always loses reception here too."

The pink-haired wrestler stood more upright and then looked over at the guy, giving him an inquisitive look. "What are you doing?" she asked rather forcefully.

"What do you mean?" he asked innocently.

Rosie took a step back, narrowing her gaze at him. "The arm," pointed out the girl, crossing her arms.

In response, the man simply laughed. "Oh, you just looked like you were distressed. I thought I'd just try to comfort you. By the way, your hair looks awesome." The man then reached out for Rosie's hair, only for his hand to get slapped away as he was met with a glare. He responded by giving her a strange look. "Listen, just calm down." He then reached out to grab at her.

Rosie retaliated by punching him in the face, nearly making the man fall down. "Back the hell off buddy!" shouted Knuckles, stepping right towards him again.

"What the hell are you talking about? Calm down you bitch!" yelled the man in response, holding his nose.

Practically exploding in anger, Rosie Knuckles was shaking as she pulled back another fist, stomping towards the man. "I'm a bitch!? You're a prick, and I'm going to kick your ass!"

The man then backed away and shouted, "You're crazy!" He then turned and ran away after Rosie threw another punch at him that he narrowly dodged!

Rosie watched him run away and then screamed, "Asshole!" When he saw him fade out of eyesight, she let out a frustrated groan and started playing with her phone again, muttering under her breath. She only got her face out of her phone again when she noticed a girl walk up to her out of the corner of her eye and she looked right at her and exclaimed, "What!?" rather rudely, seeming pretty fed up with what her day had ended up turning into right now.

Miranda was mostly just doing what she mostly did on her spare time. Walking around the city and burning off that extra energy she seemed to have so she could sleep better. She had started to put herself back on track as far as a wrestler showing people she had more backbone then she was usually given credit for and coming off like the wrestler she was. But she still didnt feel like she was where she wanted to be, people saw her and thought something cute and squishy she could walk all over and no matter what she did the image was hard to pull away from her. She was lost in thought when she heard the commotion and looked to see some pink haired women telling off what she assumed was some pervert who tried to cope a quick feel.

The man quickly regretted his wandering hands and was running for his life before she started to focus on her phone again. She was cute, didnt look to be any bigger then her and yet she intimidated that loser and anyone else who might have thought she would be someone they could mess with. Then her eyes were on her and before Mira could look away it seemed it was her turn to talk. "You do that with all people or just the ones with less sense or smarts?" She asked simply enough her voice plain as she wanted to see if this was someone she could talk to.

Rosie Knuckles went to reply to Miranda's question with an outburst, but found herself stopping and just looking confused for a moment before her face scrunched up, more in frustration before she let out a low groan. "I do it to assholes, that's who!" screamed the pink-haired brawler, who looked anything but cute right now.

"Who the fuck does that!? Seriously! Because I'm hot, that gives anyone an invitation to start feeling up on me!? That's bullshit!" ranted Rosie, red in the face now. "I just wanted to go for a jog and then I have to punch a douchebag in the face! What the hell!?"

Letting out a frustrated groan again, she almost forgot Mari wasn't there as she began to smack the side of her phone against her hand and yelled, "And my stupid phone isn't working right again!" Then, ripping out the headphone jack from the phone, she threw it into a nearby tree and buried her face in her hands and screamed out a profound, "Fuck!" It was a bad idea, for sure, and one Rosie absolutely would do often when she was angry due to her poor impulse control. She knew she had to calm herself, but she wasn't even close to that right now.

This chick clearly had a lot for anger to unleash, and it didnt just start with the man she had just met but her phone which Mira watched her chuck in anger before ranting some more. It told her all she needed to know about this chick, though it also told her she was having a bad day in general. And deciding to take a bit of a risk she opted to see if there was anyway she could help and get some help in return.

"Yeah youd be surprised how many people are stupid and think they can touch you cause your cute. But maybe you should relax. You want anything to drink in the area? And my phones reception isn't so bad if you can find music you like." She offered, though she appreciated that Rosie had a backbone she couldnt exactly get help from her if she was on the verge of exploding.

Rosie wished she hadn't thrown her phone. Hopefully her case held up and she wouldn't have a crack in it, although it wouldn't be the first time. But her frustration was interrupted by Mira's helpful inquisition. She pulled her head out of her hands and she stared at her as she spoke. She was actually being rather nice to her, even though most people ran away when she was this pissed off, and for good reasons. Still, Rosie could only look at Miranda rather suspiciously.

"Is there something you want?" asked Knuckles, eyes narrowing, looking rather unsure at the brunette. She didn't quite trust her immediately. She took a few steps towards the girl, trying to test if she was somebody trustworthy.

"Yes and no. But I can explain that better if your willing to listen. I do want something, though I suppose you can call it advise, but also dont like seeing people in distress...so call me softhearted I guess." Mira said moving to grab her discarded phone to check on it and hand it back to Rosie, she wasnt sure if it was still useful but better with ehr then left for someone to just take.

"Im Miranda by the way, or Mira if thats more your speed." She said offering her hand, unsure how to proceed from here. She knew what she wanted but asking felt weird since she wasnt sure how to phrase it. And of course the chance that this chick might laugh at her wouldnt do well for Mira's admittedly not great mood herself.

Rosie kept a slightly suspicious expression on Mira as she explained herself and went to hand her back her phone. The angry girl took it from the much more kind-hearted girl and looked it over. Another crack on her screen protector. She let out a low growl in frustration, but managed to contain herself from freaking out again and just looked back up to Miranda just in time for Miranda to extend her hand in a handshake.

The pink-haired brawler looked down at her hand, equally suspicious of that gesture, then shook her head. "Put that thing away, Mira. I don't shake hands," replied Rosie, holding out her fist for Mira to fist bump. "I'm Rosie Knuckles. I don't know if it's nice to meet you or not. You mentioned drinks though, didn't you?" The words didn't exactly come across as totally nice at all. Rosie, in fact, wasn't exactly the greatest at being the nicest, but this was probably as close as she could get in her current state of mind. And she was about to accept an invitation to get a drink, which meant she didn't despise the girl enough to try getting away from her. Granted, most of it is because she rarely, if ever, turned down an invitation to a bar. But maybe this Mira chick wouldn't be too bad, and maybe she could help her calm down a bit.

"Oh." Was all Mira said when her hand turned to a fist to meet Rosie's bump, watching her seem to slightly calm down after getting her phone back. While she wasnt exactly acting like a bitch she wasnt being super nice either, still it wasnt rage and she did seem to respond to her drink offer. So instead Mira just directed her hand to the places near the park that were within sight.

"I sure did pick your poison and ill pay for it. You can get a second one if your willing to listen beyond that but we'll see how that goes." Mira shrugged as she would let Rosie lead them to whatever place she wants to drink. If she was going to get some advice she might as well get it from someone who was more her size, and cute to boot not that Mira was interested in anything like that at the moment.

Rosie up-nodded at Mira after their fists met in a fist bump and she listened to her response. She met Mira's shrug with a shrug of her own. "Sure, sounds good," answered Rosie, nodding for Miranda to follow her as she tried to find an exit out of the park. Miranda seemed nice and cute enough, and she offered to even pay for Rosie's drink, which was something that the hot-head would never, ever turn down.

"We'll just wander until we find some place with drinks I guess. I don't know where we can go around here because I never come to this stupid place," said Rosie, trashing on the park, but mostly as an after-thought of her unfortunate time she had here. She then gave Miranda a curious look and asked, "What do I need to be willing to listen to, exactly?" She had almost forgotten that odd wording. This girl did want something. Not that it mattered. She'd get free alcohol out of it at the very least, even if she had to tell this cute little thing to screw off.

"Wish I could help but im not exactly sure what your preference of drink is." Mira responded as well following nonetheless since she was just as likely to stumble upon the right place as much as Rosie was. The pink haired girl wasn't being rude but still her response asking her what she wanted to hear her talk about made Miranda groan internally. She knew she had to get to the point eventually.

"You know about LAW? I kinda work there and...lets just say I didnt get off to the greatest start." Mira said muttering sadly as she started to scratch the back of her head. "You ever get a first impression and find that no matter what that person does its hard to shake that impression of them?"
