Party Hard & Rock Out

Unread post by Dubski »

The normally carefree and relaxed Mic Chick had a tense and annoyed expression on her face as she had her hand stuffed into her jacket and she hunched over, walking down the street and groaning quietly. The minor celebrity was hoping to just go for a decent walk outside, mostly to get some fresh air while recovering from a busy night performing a concert. Only when she went outside, she realized eventually that she was being tailed. She had an acute sense of knowing when she was being followed, normally just from having been used to it. And she knew, positively, that she was being followed by something horrible and awful that she never wanted to see again: paparazzi.

They were like annoying bugs, always creeping around to bother her. The rock star was over it. Like, a long time ago she was over it. She had dodged them before, and she had gotten pretty decent at it now, but right now she didn't need any of that in her life. She waited until she turned a corner and then started walking at a much more brisk pace, glancing back and then around at her surroundings for an escape.

And then her face twisted in a bit of surprise. "Red Hot?" said Mic, a bit dumbfounded that she just so happened to see her debut opponent for LAW, Hinoka Taiyo, going for a jog on the street. And all of a sudden, she had an idea. Before Hinoka could even get the time for pleasantries, Mic Chick ran towards her as she started to simultaneously take off her brown trenchcoat.

"Hey, hey. Hinoka, keep walking with me," said Mic, her coat now off as she attempted to walk right past her, waving her on as she continued to move at her rather brisk pace. Then, she handed the jacket off and said, "I need you to put this on and just keep walking. I got paparazzi on my tail and I need your help. Thanks."

Normally, she would love to just discuss and catch up with the girl she had taken a liking to in the wrestling ring, but there were more important things to deal with right now, and that included being able to get any breathing room to even talk to Hinoka in the first place. Without even waiting for a confirmation from Red Hot on whether or not she would help (and honestly, the rocker knew that Hinoka would be too nice to say no), Mic Chick gave her a final pat on the back and then walked away to hide behind a large box truck parked on the side of the road, simply waiting for her plan to be enacted by the fellow wrestler.

It was supposed to be an average day for Hinoka Taiyo. Wearing more casual clothes today, she decided to take an early jog to exercise her leg muscles, before heading to her apartment in a few minutes. However, she was going to wrapped in something strange soon enough. As she walked along the sidewalk, her ears perked up upon hearing the words 'Red Hot'. Did a fan from her most recent match come to see her or was it the rocker herself?

The latter would be the answer as the blonde was suddenly next to her. Mic looked quite different when not wearing her ring attire. If it weren't for the nickname and hairstyle, the redhead Hinoka usually didn't like having her jogs interrupted, but maybe she could make an exception for one of her new friends. She was quite confused as Mic was taking off her jacket. "Uh huh." replied the redhead slowing down her pace. What muddled her even further was Mic moving forward with the brown jacket in hand. "OK" said Hinoka sounding a bit confused as she wore the jacket around her body. She didn't know the full circumstances, but Hinoka still put the jacket being on the spur of the moment.

Hinoka watched on as Mic advanced towards the truck. "What was that about paparazzi..." muttered the redhead as she heard even more footsteps coming from behind. "Well FUCK!" she thought with dozens of people with cameras were pursuing her.

"There she is!"
"We got her now!"
"Maybe I can finally get my scoop!"

Forget about walking, Hinoka ran as fast as she can as the paparazzi followed suit. Who would have thought having so many people like you could be so terrible at times?

After only moving for a few seconds, Hinoka made it to the edge of the sidewalk. She had to stop as there were cars moving out on the road. "Oh give me a break" complained Hinoka feeling a little sweat drip around her face.

"Hey that is not Mic Check"
"Yeah you are right"
"I swear I saw her earlier"

The paparazzi caught up with her, to the redhead's dismay. A tall man in a suit would step out from the group wielding a microphone in hand. "We are looking for a woman who goes by the stage name Mic Check. She is blonde and wore a jacket just like that. Have you seen someone who looked like that?" asked the man hoping for an answer. Hinoka paused for a second before thinking of an answer. "Why yes I have seen her" said Hinoka smiling. A bunch of people stepped forward listening attentively. Was she going to sellout her friend to all these people? "I have seen her in the ring, if that's what you are saying." she continued. Groans were followed shortly after as they had no good lead on their target. Despite being a LAW wrestler, Hinoka didn't have much of a following, so the reporters stopped bothering her, before crossing the street at the hopes of finding Mic Check.

Once the coast was clear, Hinoka would take the time to breathe a sigh of relief. However, she was still feeling quite driven today. She walked to where the truck would be, hoping to have a LONG talk with the blonde about what just happened.

Mic Chick had waited behind the truck for a while. She peeked out periodically to see the status, and saw the swarm of people around Hinoka. She watched the paparazzi all start heading the opposite direction from them though and let out a sigh of relief, running a hand through her hair. The blonde stepped out from behind the truck and smirked at Hinoka, throwing up the horns and said, "Rock on. Thanks Red Hot."

The rockstar then casually moved on from the conversation almost instantly, as if it were no big deal as she leaned against the truck she had previously been hiding behind. "How you been? Still kicking ass and..." Mic Chick trailed off, thinking on it for a second. She actually didn't know what else this girl actually liked or did in her time away from wrestling, but she was savvy enough to save most conversations when she wasn't familiar with people. "Yeah, of course you're kicking ass, looking sexy as always," she added, smirking a bit and winking at her. If anything, she always had her charm to fall back on.

Hinoka felt rather stressed and a little drained after that ordeal. She wanted to yell at Mic for dragging her into this, but the rocker probably deals with annoyances like that every single day. After walking to where the truck would be, Hinoka would glare at the blonde. "Yeah don't mention it. Next time if you want to hide from them, maybe just get a disguise or cloak." replied the redhead not wanting to go through that again. She didn't want to send Mic to the sharks, but there were better options.

She probably needed to relocate her jogging session elsewhere away from the paparazzi. Hinoka was going to have a break anyway, so she just listened to her new friend speak. "Eh nothing much. Just training my body for the next match. Like every other wrestler" replied Hinoka gesturing while taking deep breathes. She didn't have too many hobbies, but she could take up a new activity if suggested though. Her cheeks would flush upon hearing the second part of Mic's compliment. "So how is your career? Ring or Music, you can tell me either" Hinoka stammered as she tried to change the topic to avoid getting further flustered.

The rocker's little compliment got exactly the reaction she wanted, in that it progressed the conversation further while flattering Hinoka. Mic Chick glanced around as the redhead asked her about her careers before casually glancing back, crossing her arms. "You know me. I try to wake up every day more dangerous than I was the last," she stated rather bluntly, a small smile on her face.

She gave more of a non-answer, mostly because she considered this conversation more of a formality. That's how it typically was with many people in her life, and she figured Hinoka wouldn't be any more different. But after a moment, she decided to humor her, speaking more seriously to her. "Nah, it's great. Killer. Haven't been able to schedule another match in--busy with the rock n' rolling. Had a concert last night. Slayed it like a boss. Wanted to recover from it with some fresh air and I got followed by the goon squad, you know?" The blonde shrugged her shoulders. "The struggles of being a highly successful and popular cover rock star I guess. I'll spare you the first world ish though." As ridiculous and outlandish as her life felt sometimes, she still had a bit of perspective enough to not complain too much about it. She did, however, appear to look a bit antsy as she glanced around, not particularly making too much eye contact with Hinoka.

Judging by her words, Mic was take some strides to become tougher in the ring to Hinoka's relief. The rocker was quite the character, strange yet so captivating. Hinoka was a bit disappointed hearing that Mic hasn't had a match since their last confrontation, but that is what happens when you try to have two careers at the same time.

She let Mic go on about her previous concert and how she wanted to have a break only to get interrupted. "I guess there are both good and bad things about famous. Oh and here is your jacket back" said Hinoka taking off the jacket before handing it to Mic. "So are you going to hide here or something?" asked the redhead wondering her friend's next move. This day is probably going to get more hectic.

Mic Chick was staring off in the distance, completely missing what Hinoka was saying until she was snapped out of her daze with her jacket being thrusted in her direction from the redhead. She then took it and put it back on and said, "Oh, right. Thanks." Then she heard Hinoka's question and paused a moment before shaking her head.

"Nah, babe. I got things to do, you know? Got to clean my sloppy self off at some point and clean up a bit. There's a party I got invited to, and I ought to show up. It'd be good for appearances, you know?" Mic Chick had explained it, but she didn't seem thrilled about it. But the waited a moment before continuing to speak, "I hate the bitch that is throwing it, but... It helps with exposure and I can throw my card around to help me and the band, you know?"

The blonde would then run her hand through her hair again and glanced around once more, tapping her foot, avoiding eye contact with Hinoka again. It was odd for Mic to have a conversation with someone without strings attached. She almost didn't know how to go about it.

It looked like Hinoka and Mic's talk was going to be cut short due to the upcoming event. She knew that celebrities would go to special parties and apparently they were wild and fun. Hinoka wouldn't mind attending one if she had an invite.

"I bet those parties are really exclusive, only big names get to show up. It would be cool to go to one of those. You must really value your band if you are going to show. I don't think you have to worry about that girl you hate, what is she going to do to you? Beat you up? How could they since you are a wrestler" Hinoka didn't suspect that Mic done anything wrong.

"I guess I'll see you around then. Try to avoid any cameras and microphones" said Hinoka sending off her friend and ready to return to her jog. The redhead wasn't the type to pressure Mic for an invite, no matter how entertaining this party could be.

Mic Chick was waiting for it. She knew she shouldn't have even mentioned the party in the first place. She kept avoiding Hinoka's look as she spoke and listened, waiting for her to say it. She gave a rather terse response as she nodded and said, "Yeahh, you don't get famous without getting haters."

But then much to Mic's surprise, Hinoka never said it. No request to join the party, no favors, no nothing. She was just ready to leave. Mic Chick's expression softened slightly as she looked conflicted for a moment before heaving a sigh and then spoke up again, looking at the redhead. "Yeah... The party though. It's not a really fancy affair. It's more like loud music, drinks, dancing. That kind of thing," explained Mic Chick somewhat randomly.

She then bobbed her head from side-to-side as she thought if the best way to ask before finally just saying it, professing to her rather frankly. "I was going to go with someone, but it fell through. So you can be my date if you want," said Mic, not seeming too concerned if Hinoka were to accept or not, but figuring she could at least give her the invite. It was the least she could do after the redhead helped her out with the paparazzi.

Hinoka wasn't sure what to make Mic of not making eye contact through the entire conversation, maybe things were different face to face. The redhead did not know many people were so demanding of the rocker. "Heh, I sort of guessed it would be one of those parties. Imagine you in some fancy dress" remarked Hinoka trying to make a joke although not a good one. Just as she was about to leave, the blonde would give her quite an interesting offer.

"Me! You want me to go on a party with as your date?" repeated Hinoka pointing to herself sounding rather shocked. Apparently, the rocker had no one to take to the party, so she invited the fellow wrestler to come with her. Was Mic doing this as payment for saving the paparazzi? What about her bandmates? Or did the blonde really just fancy her?

Hinoka stood in place looking to the ground, thinking about her decision for a minute. She wasn't sure if she was going to have an opportunity like this again. After making her choice, Hinoka looked up once again. "If there is really nobody else, then I'll be your date." she said awaiting for the rocker to speak.
