"Sensational" Shea London vs. Cecilia Lombard

Having gotten a hit in on Shea was one thing. Managing to get her to release her head was another. But what Cecilia found best of all was how she had managed to put Shea through enough pain to interrupt her mid-sentence. She wasn't just dominating her physically, she was proving her mouth would be of no use to her either. It was enough to draw a quiet chuckle from the brunette as she calmly stepped away and out of the grip, allowing Shea go to teetering on her one good foot.

"Having some trouble there?" Cecilia teased, looking on with her hands on her hips and a smug smirk on her face. She wanted to rub this moment in, to let Shea know just how pleased she was to have the upper hand over her. She watched as Shea prepared to throw a punch at her, but she reckoned that it would only be logical that London would want to retaliate as soon as the brunette got in her range - and Cecilia had her own plans. As Shea's punch flew, Cecilia tried to swerve herself to the side to dodge the oncoming blow; if that worked, she would follow it up with a knee right into the British blonde's stomach.

Lombard had two things working in her favor: thinking along the same lines as the Sensational One, and the time that it took Shea to swivel and throw her punch. That basically was all that the brunette needed to twist her way clear of the path of the British beauty’s swinging fist. London then had to focus her attention on righting herself and recovering from her empty follow through, which left her midsection defenseless when Cecilia’s know plowed into it, just beneath her navel.

Shea’s eyes widened along with her puffing cheeks, the kneelift impaling her and knocking a significant amount of wind out of her sails. To her credit, the veteran managed to remain on her feet, though doubled over, her legs trembling as they strained to support her, one arm dropping toward the canvas while her other hugged her poor abdomen. And until she could recover that lost breath, the Sensational One appeared all but helpless...

All things considered Cecilia was off to a good start, as her blow nailed Shea right where she had aimed for, sending the Englishwoman bent over forward and bracing herself off of three limbs. She snorted with sadistic glee, crossing her arms and rolling her neck over her shoulders to try and unnerve her opponent for good measure, as she casually stepped around to the blonde's side. With how things were going so far, Cecilia barely needed any effort to walk all over her foe, and she showed that in the haughty manner with which she conducted her every move. She wanted everyone to see how easy this was for her, particularly Shea.

"Oh, is that all?" the girl taunted. "And here, I thought you were actually going to make a point about how you still had it. Yet there you go down after a single good blow. Tell me, how do you expect to keep up with the younger and fitter girls now?"

While Shea was still bent over, Cecilia stood at her side, where she raised her leg once again. This time, however, she went to stomp her foot straight down on the blonde's back, posing as though above a defeated enemy as she beamed towards the booing crowd.

Lombard’s boot found its mark, slamming into Shea’s upper back, eliciting a groan from British blonde, and also one from the capacity crowd as London was sent tumbling to the canvas, face down. The good news for the Sensational One, at least, was that the brunette’s smug demeanor and greater attention to running her mouth rather than pressing her advantage was allowing the veteran time to catch her second wind. The bad news was, that second wind didn’t do London much good at Cecilia’s feet…

Seeing their beloved heroine in need, a small number of fans began to chant her name. “SHEA LON-DON! SHEA LON-DON!” But with each repetition, more and more fans joined the chorus. And soon, the Sensational One was giving them reason to chant, pushing up to her hands and knees...

This match was still young, and Cecilia was acting like it was over. But Shea would show her just how much she still had in her tank, once she was back on her feet.

Even with Cecilia's taunts still fresh in her ears as she stood tall above her, Shea wasn't giving in. The brunette kept her foot planted firmly on her back, refusing to budge even as Shea fought to get back up. But Cecilia wasn't one to let her get away with that. She pressed her foot down harder against her spine, rubbing her heel back and forth in place to inflict further pain.

All the same, the crowd was chanting even louder now for their hero to make a comeback. It was enough to make Cecilia roll her eyes and groan at the idiocy she was witnessing - surely, she thought, they could see that the woman they were chanting the name of stood no chance against her, that she was hopeless. Didn't they know they were begging for someone who lost her chance years before this match even started? Well, if nothing else, Cecilia was going to prove that to her.

"Don't you all get it!?" she shouted back at them. "Shea London isn't going anywhere! Anywhere but under my boot, that is! Just you wait and see!" To punctuate her words, she went to raise her foot, going to bring down another stomp.

But even after all these years, “Sensational” Shea London retained an impeccable sense of timing. And just as soon as Cecilia’s boot started to come down, the British blonde rolled to her side, clearing a path for Lombard’s sole to meet nothing but canvas. Deprived the yielding form of London to absorb the stomp, the full force of her boot’s landing is sent like a shot into the brunette’s knee, which gave Shea the time she needed to rock back and kip to her feet—an act which brought the crowd even further onto the veteran’s side.

Once she was vertical again, however, London did not charge her foe. Instead, the Brit sank into a tensed crouch, and waited for Cecilia to turn toward her. Once the American did so, Shea had every intention of trying to knock Lombard’s head clean off her shoulders with a wicked superkick.

After her previous successes, Cecilia wasn't expecting this one to be any different. Shea was hers. She was crushing her beneath her foot like the bug she was, and all she needed was a little more coercion before she was ready to admit defeat. But rather than do that, Shea proved to have more in her than her foe had anticipated, rolling her way clear of the blow and causing the brunette's foot to slam into the mat. Cecilia clenched her teeth and went tense, groaning through her teeth. It wasn't that it hurt, of course - Cecilia liked to think herself stronger than that - but more the frustration of her prey getting loose, particularly when she had been prime for the taking.

Cecilia may have been bent forward in a crouch from the blow, but she didn't straighten herself. Rather, she slowly turned where she stood to focus her glare on Shea, her face contorted in a scowl as she loomed like a predator waiting to strike on its unsuspecting prey. She would wait for just the right moment, hoping her imposing disposition would be enough to put the fear in her opponent - but in fact, she waited too long, as Shea jumped on the opportunity to jump up and throw a kick at her jaw! Cecilia was bowled off her feet, crashing down hard on her back.

The crowd roared with delight as the brunette went down, silenced and humbled, if only momentarily. And the Sensational One fed off their joy and support, the cheers of the crowd helping to pump adrenaline through her veins, which fueled the blonde’s next jump back to her feet. Rolling a few lingering aches and pains out of her shoulders as she neared the fallen American, Shea mused, “Y’know… ya are a lot easier ta like when tha’ gob stays nice an’ shut.”

Stooped down, London sought a grip on Cecilia that she could use to pull the now-reeling brunette back to her feet. Once she got her there, the British beauty had every intention of dragging Lombard into the near corner and convincing her to keep her mouth shut, by slamming the brunette’s face into the top turnbuckle.

Cecilia's jaw still ached with the blow she had taken on the chin, and indeed, it was hurting a bit much right now for her to get a word in edgewise. She did, however, snarl at Shea, still irate about being upended. She could only watch from below as the Briton hopped back before closing in on her, and she had to wonder just how much energy this woman had in her. She'd be a tricky one to put down, that was for sure.

Soon she found herself being dragged across the ring, as Shea got a good grip on her with which to pull her along for the ride as she dragged her into the corner. Cecilia was still getting back to her senses, groping blindly at the ground as she struggled to work up the will to get up, but before that could happen, she was fed a healthy serving of steel and padding as her face was shoved into the turnbuckle. Cecilia groaned a muffled protest, her breath hot on her own face as she was being smothered against the post. But she still had the will to fight back, and so she aimed to throw an elbow behind her, hoping it would hit Shea.

The blow wasn’t debilitating by any stretch of the imagination, but it did prove strong enough to break London’s grasp on the brunette, producing a breathy groan from the Brit as she staggered back a bit. And, for just a moment, the air was let out of the crowd as well. But Cecilia still found herself with her back to the blonde, and Shea quickly found a second wind.

And the crowd, too, began to buzz once more when the Sensational One reached out for her opponent.

Planting a hand on Lombard’s shoulder, Shea started to spin the nasty American around to face her. From there, London had every intention of snatching a wrist, setting her feet, and launching Cecilia on a race toward the opposite buckles with a forceful Irish whip.
