Re: Eve Summers vs Irelia Xu - Healthy Competition

"I'm sorry, Eve, dear. Lighter hugs don't win matches..." Irelia said as she began closing in on a bittersweet end towards her contest with the English DJ. Irelia was no sadist, but she felt her curiosity was finally being sated. Eve Summers was a woman of much greater constitution and toughness than Xu had judged upon first meeting her. Scissoring and bearhugging this woman into oblivion wasn't an easy task. Eve hung on longer than many LAW wrestlers would. But like all wrestlers and all athletes in general, Eve had her limits. And Irelia, the fans, the ref - just about everyone in attendance felt that those limits had finally been met.

Eve's body remained limp in Irelia's embrace. The taller vixen's breath bore down on Eve's mouth and neck as she exhaled and relented, opting to do little more than hold her up rather than squeeze her. Right now, nothing was holding Summers up aside from Irelia's hug. The blunette resigned herself to the notion that this match was hers; the official need only make the call. Fans cheered as the black and white clad referee approached to check Eve's limp arm and dub the dominant Irelia the victor.

The bikini-clad girl gave Eve smaller, intermittent squeezes whilst the referee did his thing. Once Eve's hand was propped up and let go thrice in a row, the bell was rung and Xu let up. And when it finally did, Irelia let DJ down gentley. She'd turn to the audience to pose victoriously with her hands on her hips and a wide smile on her face. Aside from Summers and the referee, everyone was celebrating. The LAW commentators were already breaking down Irelia's win and performance, tonight. Which made what happened next all the more surprising.

"Wha-?!" Xu exclaimed as she felt herself pulled backwards and towards the canvas! Sooner than she realized what was going on, the dominant, debuting star was rolled up into a Schoolboy Pin!

Strange as it was, the referee didn't hesitate to begin counting immediately! The man dropped down and slapped the mats below!

"ONE!"

"What?!"

"TWO!"

"BUT!" Irelia protested and struggled. She began kicking with both legs to try and power out!

"THREE!"

Just a second after the third count was made, Xu bucked with all her might and escape. She'd place both her palms on the canvas and look around dumbfounded! All throughout the arena, questions and skepticism spread like wildfire as fore deliberated who won exactly and when!

Re: Eve Summers vs Irelia Xu - Healthy Competition

The bell rung for a second time after much delay as the ref began to explain the situation... spurning on much confusion for the watching audience and even the commentators who were in the dark. Eve did not have the strength to stand, her energy had already been sapped from her body by the gruelling bearhugs and scissors she had fallen victim too. It was a miracle that she was able to get the boost she had to manage a roll up... if Irelia had flicked out of that she would have been done for. Eve could see the confusion of Irelia's face, after the three count was made. She wished she could explain in detail what had happened... and more importantly apologise for the result... but it was all she could do just to breathe much needed air. Eve was well aware what she had done was not exactly text book, but it was the only chance she had at victory and she took it.

The announcer finally began to speak, looking to clear up the obvious confusion.
"It has come to our attention that when Eve Summer's arm dropped for the final time during the submission hold, she managed to achieve a ropebreak. The referee and replays can confirm this. The bell was unfortunately run prematurely over the false result, meaning the match was still active. Therefore DJ's pinfall upon Irelia is the official result of this match."

The explanation gathered mixed results, but the replays reveal Eve managing to fall back against the ropes. The angle made it very unclear that Eve was passed out, and thus the rope break no doubt had to stand. The mixed reactions were more for Eve's sly rollup, though Eve clearly did not look too proud about it. Her passions were running high and she acted rather than thinking and giving Irelia a chance to compose herself. She mouthed the words 'I'm sorry' to Irelia as she finally struggled to her feet with help from the referee who held up her arms victoriously.

"The winner of this match by Pinfall... Eve 'DJ' Summers!" The announcer declared. The crowd finally did manage to get behind Eve however, knowing the woman had to endure a lot before the controversial ending. Eve was not really celebrating either, glad to have her wrist finally released by the ref. She walked uneasy straight towards Irelia, only just about able to hold herself up, as she naturally favoured her back which felt raw. She winced, no doubt Irelia having done a number on her spine with all the crush style holds.
"I'm sorry Irelia. That wasn't exactly a very noble thing for me to do. When I woke up and realised I was still in the game, I wasn't thinking, I just saw a chance to win and took it. If you want a rematch, I'd be glad to oblige, I certainly owe you it." Eve whispered, barely able to even make eye contact with Irelia, such was her shame.

The turn of events was so sudden that the staff had to explain tot he audience and the women competing what had just transpired and how the match would be called. It was controversial, to say the least. Irelia's eye twitched with annoyance when she heard the announcement. Despite getting the better of Eve for much of the matchup, and despite her opponent certainly looking like she went ten rounds with the premiere Chinese middleweight, Eve Summers had seized a key opening and came out on top.

The bikini-clad wrestler looked down for a moment, still in clear shock and contemplation of the outcome. Her blue-haired head rose slowly to observe the replays on the titantron in the arena. Her attention would soon be shifted yet again to her opponent mouthing words to her. Irelia would part her hair from the front of her face and slowly rise to meet Summers. The weary DJ ambled towards Xu, and as she did, Irelia rose. She'd eye Summers up and down before smirking and reaching for her hand to raise it. Irelia took the loss in stride, but as the audience cheered for the display of sportsmanship and for Eve's toughness, the defeated woman would gladly look the brunette in the eye with a smile. She'd accept Eve's feelings and rematch offer amidst the noise and clamor.

"A win is a win, Eve. You've earned it with your own efforts, and technically, you've broken no rules. So please....enjoy it."

"Next time, and I promise there will be a next time, I won't underestimate you."
She'd say with a wink.
