Shifting Gears (For Cyan)

"I'mma do it!" Suzume threatened as if she was a mad man and would make a chomping motion. Feeling her hair ruffled even more the brunette pressed her hands against Katsumi's back and tried to pry herself from the woman's grip. Meanwhile she tried to respond to the bluenette's explaination of events. "Yeah yeah sure." She responded, clearly preoccupied.

Finally with enough pushing Suzume's head popped free and the girl stumbled back. "Waaaah!" She yelped before falling right on the asphalt of the parking lot. Luckily her rear broke her fall. "Owwwah...ugh. I almost miss falling in the ring." She groaned. It was times like these that she had a bit more grace. Or that she was strong enough to have just lifted Katsumi up and tossed her back into the car.

Katsumi stumbles forward a step as Suzume pops her head free of the lock! She spins around in time to see her smolfriend drop onto her rear, earning another peal of giggles. "Aw, Suzubean."

She shuffles closer and leans down. Her hands are offered forward. No tricks this time. If they're taken, she'll tug Suzume up to her feet.

"Really, I was just messing with you! That's what I do in the ring. You should watch some of my other matches so you know." Her eyes suddenly brighten. "Oh! I should see some of your other matches, too! See what Lil' Bit's been up to!"

It occured to Suzume that she hadn't actually seen anything Katsumi had done so far. Grabbing the woman's hand she lifted herself back to her feet and brushed herself off. Rolling her eyes Suzume couldn't help but giggle slightly with her friend. Then suddenly it stopped and her eyes widened when she recalled her previous matches that Kat wanted to see.

"My...OTHER matches?" She asked, now realizing that Katsumi hadn't actually seen them. "Ummm well...can you maybe not? I really just lose...a lot..." She starts to explain before slowly trailing off. She'd look up at her tall friend and give her the best puppy dog eyes that she could muster. "It's really embarrassing. Just don't? Let's just watch yours instead?"

"Aw, come on! You looked so cute gettin' pinned in our match! I wanna see how ya look getting pinned by other people!," Katsumi teases. "Besides, if ya get into the ring, you've gotta be able to roll with the punches! Even I haven't won every match I've been in. Some.. worse than others. But I'm always gettin' better, and I'll always get those bitches back!," she announces, clenching a dramatic fist. She's not deterred! "So you on Youtube? Wait, I should go through the federation's official site!"

She hops once.

"Ah! Better idea! We can go back to my place and we'll watch'em on the screen! It'll be like a viewing party, but without the bullshit pretense!"

"I always look cute." Suzume huffs. She's starting to become accustomed to the teasing now. While she certainly admires Katsumi's attitude, the punkette hadn't lost ALL of her matches. So far Suzume was 0-4 and her latest loss against Katsumi was by far the least embarrassing for her.

Suzume wasn't sure if she was on YouTube but she was praying she wasn't. She wasn't exactly well known though so it might be a safe bet that she wasn't. She would however probably be on LAW's website. "I...Katsumi...we really don't have to watch my matches. They really aren't any good." She continued to say as she tried to convince her friend that there was nothing to see. She was running out of words however and she wasn't sure if any of them were having the desired effect.

"I'll be the judge of that!," announces Katsumi, puffing out her chest. "So no more fussing! We're gonna have a viewing party!" A fist thumps into her chest, continuing the dramatic gravitas: "I'll even cook for the occasion! It has to be legitimate!"

She cuts her eyes to Suzume, lips pursed. "You can bring the drinks or whatever." Beat. "Maybe nothing alcoholic, though. I don't wanna get drunk."

She doesn't say why, but she actually has a purpose in mind. If she can find particular slips or habits in Suzume's style, maybe she can even help her improve! Or at least give her the impression of improvement, which'll boost the girl's confidence. Sometimes confidence is what gives that much-needed edge. She can't do that if she's tipsy!

It appeared Suzume's tactics had no effect. Katsumi was determined to see this through no matter what. Suzume could only assume her friend had good intentions but that was becoming a detriment right now. The punkette even offered to cook. How could Suzume turn down that offer. Of course she would have to find a way, but anything she could think of at the moment would only delay the inevitable.

Suzume was given the responsibility of bringing drinks. While Katsumi didn't want anything alcoholic, Suzume was going to need enough alcohol to put both of them out. This 'viewing party' was absolutely the last thing she wanted to happen. She supposed that's what happened when you made friends within the business though.

As it seemed her fate might sealed now, Suzume had one last attempt to at least get out of some of this left in her. "If you're really intent on this...can I at least ask you one big favor? Or like...maybe two?" She asked, her eyes just about glued to the floor.

The downcast demeanor of Suzume has gotten an odd look from Katsumi. She leans in, head tilting to try to look at her face. "What's the matter, Lil' Bit? What request?" Blink. "Oh, is it for a specific food? I could swing that. What do you want?"

"No no no. Not food. Maybe alcohol though...like lots." She said with a weak smile. The smaller friend then took a deep brath before continuing. "But yeah ummm...I got a match that I REALLY need you to not see. If it's online anyway." She said. Suzume was referring to a lewd match that until the day she died would swear that she didn't realize she was getting into until it was too late. Whether or not that was the truth, Suzume was still regretting the decision.

"Also. My losses haven't exactly been very dignified. So well yeah... just maybe go easy on the teasing? Please?" She asked despite having a hard time getting the right words out. She of course would rather just not watch any of her past matches but she assumed that ship had already sailed.

Katsumi blinks at her. Suzume actually seems worried - genuinely worried, and not the overreactive, kind of spazzy worry Katsumi usually evaluates from her. There's really something out there that she doesn't want her seeing! And she's really sensitive!

Several seconds pass in silence as she considers her.

Arms reach out to circle Suzume's shoulders, and should they land, drag her in for a sustained embrace. "I'll be gentle," she assures, voice mellowed. "I dunno if I won't see that match, but I'll go easy on ya." Her arms tighten, and she sways back and forth in an assuring buddy-hug.
