Middleweight Championship Match: Megumi Mutoh vs Tina Armstrong

Tina had Megumi down, finally giving her a good taste of the power Tina could muster! In her mind that deserved another attempt at a nasty bit of higher impact offense. Tina stood up and bent down, pulling Megumi up by the hair. Tina wanted to try to grab Megumi once more, lifting her up high before stepping forward to attempt to bring Megumi crashing down back-first across her knee for a back breaker! If that could connect Tina would finally start regaining some of her confidence. However if Megumi countered Tina would be at a loss as to how to wear this woman down!

Groaning in pain after being dropped earlier, Megumi was trying to recover as fast as she could, but her opponent had another plan for her as Tina grabbed her body, pulling her back up on her feet. Still winded from the Samoan drop earlier, she couldn't immediately react to this, and as a result, she was lifted up before being dropped back first into Tina's knee, taking a painful backbreaker from her.

"Aaargghhhh!!!"

Megumi screamed out in pain before she flopped onto the mat, the pain making it hard for her to think. At the moment, the Combat Genius was in trouble, and no one knew how she would get herself out of this predicament that she got herself into.

One more move down, Tina was starting to build her confidence again. She let Megumi drop to the mat below and she took off for the ropes nearby. Tina was trying to show off some of her speed while she had Megumi down on the mat. the tigress jumped off the middle rope, flipping back as she flew through the air. Tina aimed herself right at Megumi, trying to crash down on top of her with a springboard moonsault! If her offense landed Tina would waste no time in hooking one of Megumi's legs while laying across her chest to pin her opponent!

Reeling from the backbreaker earlier, it seemed that Megumi had taken quite a big damage from Tina. And the champion decided to show off her speed by going to the ropes before using them as her springboard, launching herself up into the air to perform a springboard moonsault, landing on top of the prone Megumi.

"Uuunghhh!!"

Feeling Tina's weight on top of her, Megumi could feel that she was being pinned. Flame returned in her eyes as she would force herself to get herself out of her predicament.

"ONE!"

When the referee started counting, Megumi would gather her willpower, and with a hot-blooded yell, she would kick out the moment the referee counted up to two!

"TWO!"

And she broke the pin, stopping the count. She would try to push Tina off of her, hoping to give herself enough room to recover.

Tina felt Megumi forcefully kick out, shoving her away! "No way...." Tina mumbled to herself as she tried to rise up to her feet, watching Megumi sash got up. Tina readied her arms and stepped up to Megumi. Tina was ready to reset and get back to it, moving in to try to tie up in a grapple with Megumi!

"You caught me on a bad day before.... I am way better than that, and I am better than you even if you don't want to admit that!" Tina said confidently as she locked up with the former Wrestle Angel. Tina knew Megumi had more experience and prestige given her background in wrestling. She wouldn't be surprised if a good number of people viewed Megumi as the favorite to win. It was up to Tina to change their minds today with a win of her own in the ring!

Panting, Megumi got herself back on her feet before she looked at Tina. Despite the damages dealt on her, she smiled before she prepared herself to lock up with Tina again. Both of them went to grapple with each other again, their bodies locking up. "Oh yeah? Then you don't know what 'better' truly means!" Megumi replied to Tina's words as she would try to give herself a proper footing before attempting to focus on Tina's arm, grabbing it and twisting it, locking her up in a standing armbar!

"Ngh!" Tina groaned through her grit teeth as Megumi again got the better or her in a lock up! Tina reached out and grabbed her twisted arm with her free hand rubbing it as she stomped her feet.

Tina had to get out of this somehow....and she had a plan. She tried to move her feet and duck low, spinning herself around and Megumi held her arm in order to alleviate the pressure. From there Tina could move and she decided a show of speed and strength would suffice as she lunged in to deliver a shortarm clothesline to Megumi!

Twisting Tina's arm in the standing armbar, Megumi would make sure to apply pressure in the hold, but the younger woman seemed to find her way out of this hold as she ducked low and spun herself around, and she managed to break free. Megumi couldn't help but be impressed by Tina's quick thinking, but she would have to find a way to prevent the champion from going after her.

She saw Tina lunging at her with a short arm clothesline, so Megumi would display her great reflexes by ducking low, avoiding the clothesline, letting the arm pass harmlessly over her head. Then, she would grab Tina's head from behind, pulling it back as she would try to drive her knee into her back, intending to leave some damage on her before she could proceed on using bigger, more devastating moves on her.

"Auuughhhh!" tina howled as her head was grabbed and her spine hammered by Megumi's knees! Tina knew nothing good was going to come of this if she kept getting stuck by Megumi. She had to be better than this! Out of desperation the champion swung her elbows back, trying to hammer into Megumi if she was within reach! Tina was in a bad spot and if her elbow strikes didn't free her she knew she was in a world of trouble against her foe.

Putting Tina in the standing armbar, Megumi would wrench said arm, applying pressure around her shoulder and elbow to weaken her. But Tina tried to hammer her elbow into her side, causing Megumi to groan and loosen her hold on the arm she was wrenching. "Grkh...!" Not wanting to let her free, Megumi decided to let go of Tina's arm altogether before quickly bending down, grabbing both Tina's legs by her calves before pulling them from underneath her, hoping to have the champion fall onto the mat face and chest first!
