Marzia Servelli vs. Breanna Laney [D]

As soon as Breanna landed, Marzia went right for her ankle to twist back on it, clenching her teeth. She gave herself over to the hold, letting everything else going on around her fade from the forefront of her mind as she focused intently on her goal. She wasn't going to yield an inch, or give Breanna any opportunity to escape.

For a little while, Marzia held control, keeping up her grip. She gave a harder tug, aiming at punishing the country girl even further. But Marzia couldn't hold onto Breanna forever, and soon enough she felt her other leg plowing into her shin. Groaning under her breath, Marzia abruptly let Breanna's leg drop from her hand as she went stumbling backwards, bent at the waist as her face contorted in pain.

Breanna grabbed the ropes and nurses on her ankle as it was twisted pretty good. Even if Marzia was thrown off focused, the girl could wrestle to make up for it. She tried to lift herself as her ankle healed itself. She was on the ropes as she saw Marzia in pain as well. She had some time to recover and think of another plan.

Marzia staggered back towards the ropes, but eventually she was able to catch her breath, where she straightened herself back to her full height and brushed her hair back out of her eyes. She looked across to see that Breanna was still recovering from the pain, though, and it seemed a reasonable guess that the pain of a twisted ankle might keep her down for longer than Marzia would. This, she thought, could be her chance.

Putting her guard up as she lowered herself and raised her fists, Marzia began to stalk slowly towards Breanna. She would hover just out of range of her, waiting to see what her next move could be, and prepared to parry it.

Breanna saw Marzia moving closely waiting for any sign of attack and to counter it. Breanna had to be careful as her ankle wasn’t fully healed and she could only put limited weight on it to keep her going. Kicks were her speciality, but her fists had to suffice for now. She tried grabbing Marzia and putting her in a tight headlock before taking her down to the ground locking Marzia’s Head in a Headscissors Submission.

Marzia had things prepared in her mind. She knew just what she would do. She stayed back, and if Breanna came in closer, she would catch her to throw her back on the canvas with an arm drag. Simple, she thought.

Except not, because while Marzia had thought she would remain safe by staying back, she didn't expect Breanna would close in on her instead. She found herself grabbed and pulled in against her opponent, who clamped down on her head. She coughed and sputtered, wincing as she felt the country girl's vice-like grip wrapping around her temples. But that wasn't the end of it, as she soon found herself on her back with Breanna holding down her head. Marzia squealed from the pain, with Breanna's legs gripping her already sore temples from the previous leglock. Despite this, Marzia was intent on fighting it. She tried to twist her head back and forth, reaching to try and pry her opponent's legs off of her.

Breanna’s legs tried to remain hold on Marzia as Breanna played with her hair. Marzia tried her best as Breanna felt her grip loosen. Breanna tried to lock it in more, but Marzia slipped out suddenly as Breanna gasped and tried to regroup really fast.

With her continued efforts, Marzia managed to get herself out of Breanna's grip. The Italian sat up, panting to regain her breath for a second. But she knew that sitting still too long would only mean trouble for her, as she looked back out of the corner of her eye to check on what Breanna was doing.

Hoping she could slow her opponent down if she saw fit to pursue her, Marzia went to throw an elbow behind her towards Breanna's gut to stun her. If that worked, she would then start to drag her to the center of the ring so that she would be far enough from the ropes for a submission to be practical.

Breanna ran into a back elbow from Marzia as she hunched over in pain. Breanna held her gut as Marzia quickly dragged her away from any ropes that Breanna could grab. Breanna knew what she was trying to do and she thought fast before Marzia could try anything.

So far, everything was going according to plan, as Marzia hauled Breanna along the canvas to return to the center of the ring. Getting there, she let go of her opponent, leaving Breanna on the mat. Then the Italian wiped her brow before she got down at Breanna's side, where she had planned to perform an armbar to continue working her joints - that is, assuming Breanna didn't have other plans!

Breanna tried escaping, but she was too late asMarzia locked in a grueling Armbar wrenching on the country girl’s arm leaving Breanna screaming in pain reaching for the far-away ropes to no use. Breanna was trapped!
