Middleweight Championship Match: Megumi Mutoh vs Tina Armstrong

Well it was a start. It was something to build off even though Megumi was shaking it off. Tina wasn't surprised though. Tina was up on her feet herself, keeping an eye on Megumi. Tina tried to move in as she attempted to keep taking the fight to Megumi. Tina had her arms up, trying to shuffle step close and send a fast kick towards Megumi's abdomen! Tina knew that alone wasn't going to do anything to Megumi, but if it could stun her long enough Tina was going to step up and wrap an arm around Megumi's head to drive her skull first to the mat with a DDT!

Getting back on her feet, Megumi focused on Tina who was also back on her feet before she closed in. She saw the champion trying to launch a kick into her abdomen, and she didn't have enough time to dodge it, so she took the kick right into her belly, causing her to gasp and wince in pain. As Tina tried to capitalize on this by wrapping her arm around her head, Megumi would force herself to grab her opponent by her leg so that she could attempt to bring her down into the mat with a dragon screw takedown!

Tina found out that Megumi was not going to just sit by and let Tina DDT her! She yelped as she was thrown to the mat, rolling with the momentum to create some distance before she pushed herself back up to her feet. She had to catch Megumi with her more potent offense and string it together otherwise she was going to be in a lot of trouble. Megumi was just as frustrating an opponent as Tina remembered.

She sprang forward, trying to run right at Megumi and jump up into the air, extending her legs in an attempt to hammer Megumi in the chest with a running dropkick!

Megumi brought Tina into the mat with the dragon screw, but the champion didn't seem to stay on the ground for to long as she rolled away from her before getting back up on her feet. Then, she saw Tina rushing over to her before the champion launched herself forward with a dropkick!

"Guughh!!"

Megumi winced when she took the dropkick into her chest. She fell backwards before hittingt he mat. But she would quickly use the momentum to roll further back before getting herself back on her knees to spring herself back on her feet. Still, the pain on her chest prevented her from going further than that as she would try to distance herself from Tina.

The dropkick hit, but Tina watched as Megumi used the momentum to roll herself back into a crouching position. Tina didn't want to waste any momentum or window of opportunity against Megumi. She walked in with a belt and she wanted to walk out with the belt. She struggled to defend it against Tracy and even heard some critics say that Tina was lucky to keep it since Tracy chose a high risk attack instead of going for the belt at the end leading to Tina smashing her with her finisher to keep her down letting Tina climb the ladder.

Now she was against a woman who handily defeated her in a spar. She had to prove she deserved the title and that she could keep it without luck. Tina ran at Megumi and leapt at her, leading with her knee as she attempted to smash into her with a shining wizard!

Megumi rolled back, using the momentum from taking the dropkick to get herself on her knees so that she could spring back up on her feet. But then, she saw Tina coming over to her with her knee primed for an attack. Seeing that her opponent was trying to land a shining wizard, Megumi would dip low rather than springing up, letting the attack pass harmlessly over her head.

Then, trying to counter Tina's shining wizard, Megumi would try to grab Tina's leg that was nearest to her, and with a yell, she would try to send her down into the mat, hoping to take her down with a dragon screw!

Tina had missed again, and once more her leg was grabbed. Tina was whipped down to the mat hard by Megumi and againnahe tried to make it up to her feet but her progress was a bit slower this time around. She had to break through Megumi to take the fight to her.

Tina tried to be more cautious this time, moving in to try to grapple Megumi. If she was successful Tina knew she had to leverage her way into something big but Megumi needed to be softened up first. To that end Tina tried a couple knee strikes to Megumi's abdomen.

Megumi smiled, noting that Tina had slowed down after she took her down with a dragon screw. She knew that if she could keep this up, she would be able to win this match and get herself the title for herself. She then looked at Tina getting back up on her face as she considered her next move.

She saw Tina rushing over to her, looking to grapple with her. Thinking that the champion was trying to overpower her with her strength, Megumi had one thing planned for this and would react accordingly. But, what she didn't expect was the knee shot into her belly, and she gasped out as she felt some air got knocked out of her.

"Guughhh!!"

Thanks to this, she was momentarily winded, and the only thing she could manage was to push Tina away, hoping to give herself more room to recover before Tina could follow up with a more devastating attack!

Tina felt Megumi shove her back a few steps but she was determined to get back in, moving close to Megumi. Tina wanted to ram her shoulder into Megumi's sternum and then lift, holding Megumi up on her shoulders. Tina would spin around trying to maintain her hold on Megumi before trying to jump up and lean back. She wanted to drive Megumi to the mat as hard as she could with a samoan drop in order to hit Megumi with some high impact offense! Tina failed to land a lot of her bigger moves during the spar and she knew if she could succeed doing that tonight it would wear Megumi down. Tina just had to keep at it and constantly hammer away at her, which was far easier said than done.

Despite pushing Tina back, Megumi was winded from the strike into her belly, which allowed Tina to take advantage of her situation by ramming her shoulder into her sternum, causing the former Wrestle Angel to gasp out in pain, air knocked out of her lungs. Then, she was lifted up onto Tina's shoulders before she was brought down into the mat as Tina fell back.

"Uagghhhh!!"

Megumi cried out as she was driven into the mat with a Samoan drop, and the attack had left her quite rattled. Due to this, Megumi was left stunned and winded, allowing Tina to take advantage of her rattled state. She had to recover fast, or else she might end up losing against the younger woman whom she had defeated during their spar!
