Friendship at High Noon - Blonde Blazer vs. Salma Mariela Lambert

Post by Letta »

Standard Match: Victory by Pinfall, Submission, or KO

- A few days earlier, in the LAW offices -

“...And that’s why I thought she was just part of the cleaning staff!”

“I mean, she was wearing a maid outfit and wiping down a vending machine. What else was I supposed to think? I even handed her a garbage bag...!”

As the embarrassment finally caught up with her, Blonde Blazer covered her face with both hands. Judging by the laughter slipping through her fingers, however, she did not seem all that distressed by the memory. BB was perched casually on the corner of someone’s desk. One leg crossed over the other, she gestured tirelessly with both arms as she continued her story, looking as though she had always belonged there. “So, tell me, Robert. Oh- how’s your dog, by the way?” What followed was another one of BB’s characteristically corny jokes. The staff already seemed accustomed to her presence. Everyone continued working, occasionally chuckling at one of her silly jokes or shaking their heads in exasperation. The strange part was how much BB seemed to know about their personal lives. She knew who owned a dog and who had been dealing with relationship problems.

“...Anyway, I don’t mind taking on villains, but am I really the only heroine around here?” Robert offered no answer as he continued flipping through the profiles in front of him. “It’d be nice to have a friend! Maybe I could even try.. a tag match sometime...” BB clasped her hands together, her eyes sparkling with excitement. At that moment, Robert’s hand stopped. The profile before him featured a woman with dark turquoise hair and a cowboy hat pulled low over her head. Robert looked between the profile and the blonde woman still chattering away on the edge of his desk. “Balance is important...” he murmured the words beneath his breath. “Yes. Balance is key.”

Ordinarily, a wrestler could not simply walk into the office, ask for a friend, and expect a match to be booked for her. Yet among the countless things BB had said, one happened to align perfectly with a growing concern inside LAW’s booking department. The LAW roster had been steadily tilting toward the heel side, and the booking staff had begun to take notice. Too many heels made it difficult to build promising faces or guide tweeners toward one side or the other. Eventually, the number of worthwhile matchups would begin to shrink. Perhaps putting someone still standing on that boundary against someone as bright and principled as BB might have a positive influence. If everything went well, a single match could solve two problems at once.

Robert’s attention shifted toward a coin resting on one side of his desk. An angel had been engraved upon one face. A devil upon the other. He examined both symbols before setting the coin upright and spinning it across the surface of his desk. As it turned, the angel and devil blurred together into a single indistinct circle, belonging completely to neither side. Perhaps it was not such a bad gamble. Robert picked up the turquoise-haired woman’s profile and began comparing it against several others. None appeared to satisfy him. Each time, after only a few pages, he shook his head and moved on to the next. Matching weight classes alone would not be enough. Sending an unprepared wrestler against someone like this could result in an accident before either woman had the chance to put on a proper match.

Finding someone capable of matching her would not be as simple as it seemed. Naturally, Robert’s gaze drifted toward the blonde woman sitting on the edge of his desk. Height. Weight. Frame. Power... Most importantly, the resilience to withstand punishment without breaking. Robert’s eyes narrowed. It might be dangerous. But it would also be an opportunity to discover how much Blonde Blazer could withstand, and how many times she could rise again. “You know what?” BB’s chatter immediately stopped. “I think.. I might be able to find an appropriate match for you.” “You can..?” “You might even meet someone... who could become a very good friend.” BB’s face lit up at once. “A new friend?! You’re the best, Robert! I can’t wait!” She hopped down from the desk and hurried out of the office with an excited spring in her step. Robert watched her disappear through the doorway before glancing down at the coin, which had finally stopped spinning. Which side had landed face-up was hidden beneath the tip of his finger. “...Or perhaps the exact opposite.”

- Present day, LAW Arena -

Upbeat entrance music filled the arena as brilliant pyrotechnics erupted around the stage. Emerging through the dazzling light was none other than Blonde Blazer. Wearing a radiant smile, she waved enthusiastically toward the audience as she made her way down the ramp. Upon reaching the ring, she slipped between the ropes and immediately climbed onto the nearest corner. From left to right, BB blew kiss after kiss with both hands, determined not to neglect a single section of the audience. The louder the crowd cheered, the brighter her smile became. Finally stepping down from the corner, BB made her way toward the center of the ring. Only one thing remained. Meeting her “potential new friend.” The arena lights slowly began to dim. As though rehearsing the handshake she intended to offer, BB flexed the fingers of her right hand once. Then, with anticipation shining in her cobalt-blue eyes, she turned toward the entrance and waited.

Turning over a new leaf was always a difficult thing to do. Redemption...whatever you want to call it really was just difficult. People were usually set in their ways, and that was without adding on the pressure from outside forces. Though a good way to get away from that sorta influence was to find greener pastures. The life she had known before was supposed to be a distant memory.

Salma Mariella Lambert stood in her locker room, leaning against a locker as she looked through social media for a brief second. So far in LAW her career had been a slow one. Barely any traction, perhaps they simply didn't know what to do with her? This former heel who was trying to do better. She had been in a handful of matches but they had for the most part not been anything to write home about. Her eyes glazed over as she continued to scroll through posts, seeing what the buzz was online. It seemed some had discovered her past, and the sentiment among those smaller online groups and communities was just how much they were looking forward to seeing this so-called Blonde Blazer lay Cowgirl out cold.

A faint smile with not a shred of heart or real emotions appeared on Salma's face. As if she was masking for no one but herself. She was here to see if she had it in here to take that face spot, to try and be what she had at one point be promised she could become in the future. Thought which how things had been going she had her doubts. Still the LAW crowd so far hadn't been hateful towards her, perhaps she had the opportunity to do things right.

Stepping out onto the ramp, Salma's entrance music began to play. As the cowgirl trot down the ramp! Standing 6 foot 1 inches tall and weighing in at 190lbs! The Lone Wolf as she had dubbed herself here in Japan made her way down the ramp!

Her iconic cool/soft almost azure colored hair trailing behind her as she made her way down to the ring. The crowd had a overall mixed reaction, some of course loving the overall look of Salma, the cowgirl archetype of wrestler was without a doubt a popular one! Others clearly seemed to have more vitriol to fling in Salma's direction. Though perhaps she was simply imagining things. She moved up onto the steel steps and climbed them before she entered the squared circle. The cowgirl would move up towards the center of the ring, her eyes now locking on at Blonde Blazer. She certainly lived up to her name...there was something about her that just left a bad taste in Salma mouth. The second she laid eyes on her, but for the moment she couldn't place it. She moved up to meet the woman, standing but an inch away as she stared the blonde down. For now she didn't say anything, that nagging feeling, that bitter taste in her mouth didn't go away and it was bugging her.

Blonde Blazer held her breath, her gaze fixed intently on the entrance. At last, a new entrance theme filled the arena, and a cowgirl with long, almost sky-blue hair stepped onto the stage. Blazer’s eyes widened. She clapped both hands over her mouth in disbelief.

This is... my “potential new friend”?

Where had someone this amazing been hiding all this time? Cheers and boos mingled in the stands. Some welcomed the cowgirl’s arrival, while others directed open hostility toward her. None of it really registered with BB. She couldn’t take her eyes off Salma as the cowgirl made her way down the ramp. Long, sky-blue hair flowing with every step. Intriguing glimpses of her eyes beneath the brim of her cowboy hat. Voluptuous curves and clearly defined muscles, powerful thighs carrying her down the ramp with each confident stride.

To BB, every bit of her looked simply stunning. She had rarely met another woman with a build like her own. During her acting career, BB’s height, sturdy frame, and muscular thighs had always been compared to the slender bodies of other actresses and models. But beside this cowgirl, at least she would not look like a giant. Actually, now that she looked more closely, Salma might even be a little taller than she was. Somehow, that made BB even happier.

Her thoughts raced ahead at the speed of light. Blonde Blazer and the mysterious cowgirl, taking down villains together. They would make an incredible tag team. Their blue color schemes would look wonderful side by side, too. As for a team name... Blue Blazers? No, that was far too self-centered. Justice Riders? Radiant-... They had not even introduced themselves yet, and an entire spectacular tag-team storyline was already unfolding inside BB’s head. Still watching Salma with starry-eyed admiration, BB could not stop smiling as the cowgirl climbed the steel steps and entered the ring.

Making new friends had always been difficult. This time, though, she had a good feeling. BB had faced countless villains during her acting career, and she had met more than a few people in real life who weren’t what they seemed. Since joining LAW, she had even confronted wrestlers as openly malicious as Akino and Spectre. That was why BB believed she had an eye for spotting malice. A person’s gaze, their voice, the way they looked at someone- surely those things could reveal the wickedness hiding underneath.

And to her, Salma seemed different. Granted... she did look a little stern. Guarded, too, with an air that made her seem difficult to approach. To BB, though, she seemed more like someone who had spent too long fending for herself.

At least, that was what BB believed. Salma approached the center of the ring, closing the distance between them until they stood close enough to feel each other’s breath. The cowgirl stared BB down without a word. There was something unmistakably sharp in that gaze. Yet BB, thoroughly caught up in her own thoughts, seemed entirely unbothered. If anything, she appeared to interpret Salma’s silence as shyness, or perhaps a naturally reserved disposition.

BB looked up at her with bright, sparkling eyes. Then, without a moment’s hesitation, she reached out with both hands and eagerly took hold of the cowgirl’s arms. There was no wariness in her touch, nor any hostility. Only the unguarded delight of someone already convinced she had found a new friend.

“Salma? Your name’s Salma, right? It’s so nice to meet you! I’m Blonde Blazer. My wish finally came true..!”

“You look even more amazing up close! I can’t wait for our match!” BB continued beaming at her for a moment after she finished speaking. Then, apparently realizing she was still holding Salma’s arms, she blinked and hurriedly let go. “Oh, sorry! I got a little carried away. I’m just so happy to meet you.” With a sheepish laugh, BB raised both hands apologetically. She then took a step back, leaving a little breathing room between them. Still brimming with excitement, BB bounced lightly on her toes before offering her right hand with another bright smile. “Then let’s have a great match...!” This time, she simply held out her hand and waited, watching Salma with an expectant smile.

Re: Friendship at High Noon - Blonde Blazer vs. Salma Mariela Lambert

The Cowgirl had come to a stop in the center of the ring, but a couple of feet away from the blonde opponent she had been lined up with for tonight. She had looked her over on her approach from the ramp and now she was getting a better look still...she was very much styled as a Superhero, it was practically the most obvious part of her. That bright blue and white outift, those yellow accents...her build was most impressive too, it certainly did seem like the statuesque superheroine type by just a glancing look over.

Though Salma couldn't help but feel this nagging feeling of deja vu. This sharp imagine pained ran through her spine like that of a knife. While not one to one, there were certainly a fair bit of similarities between this woman, and someone from her past she had been looking to put past her, to bury once and for all. Though here she was standing in front of someone who's visage reminded her of that person.

Still Salma wasn't about to outright hate this Blonde Blazer, she didn't know her. It wasn't until the blonde spoke that Salma would click her tongue. Her arm was grabbed, and after a second or two she reacted by jerking back a step, trying to pull her arm free.

*They even sound the similar...*

The first few words of Blonde Blazer fell on deaf ears as Salma was too caught up in her annoyance. As that hand came up at the same time that the cowgirl shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts. She barely registered the handshake offer. The shaking of her head, and the non response to the handshake did earn Salma a chorus of boos from the crowd. One which caught her attention, as she gazed out at the crowd, not focusing on the blonde right now. It wasn't until a couple seconds passed which she would return to look at Blonde Blazer.

"Huh...oh well. Blonde Blazer was it? Yeah, I ain't callin' ya that. You've gotta settle for BB, darlin'." Salma spoke out as she would take a step forward. "Doesn't matter if yer the crowd's favorite. Cause I intend on putting you down for that three count, so give me yer best shot. May the better woman win." Salma spoke in a tone that wasn't quite so loud, restricting her words for now to BB's ears. It was clear she wasn't exactly happy about getting booed out right off the bat like that, but to her this scene was becoming more and more familiar by the second, thought she would try to not let that bother her and focus on her opponent for now.

Re: Friendship at High Noon - Blonde Blazer vs. Salma Mariela Lambert

Blonde Blazer stood with her hand extended, a bright, expectant smile waiting for Salma alongside it. A moment passed. Then another. She held the pose as though someone had pressed pause- the same open hand, the same hopeful expression, the same unwavering expectation that the cowgirl would meet her halfway. But the space between their hands remained empty. When Salma shook her head, a little uncertainty crept into BB’s smile. She slowly withdrew her hand, curling her fingers into her palm as though she could make the awkward moment disappear with them.

Oh... I must have upset her when I grabbed her arms like that..!

“Oh, not big on handshakes...? Haha...”

What a way to make a first impression! She had come looking for a friend and, in her enthusiasm, apparently forgotten that introductions were supposed to come before grabbing someone by both arms. Her excitement had gotten ahead of her manners, and now her manners were arriving late to clean up the mess. Blazer gave a sheepish smile, her fingers fidgeting at her side. Then Salma spoke. Blonde Blazer was too much of a mouthful, apparently. She would have to settle for BB. The blonde’s face brightened before the cowgirl had quite finished.

“O-of course...! You can call me that!”

Short. Familiar. Practically friendly. And of course, somewhere out there, some lazy soul was probably calling her BB simply to spare themselves the effort of typing her full name. They had only just met, and they were already dropping the formalities! Surely that counted as progress. Perhaps one day they would look back on this and laugh... the awkward handshake, the clumsy introduction, the very first time Salma had called her BB. Already, she could imagine telling the story with a fond little nudge to the cowgirl’s shoulder. Admittedly, Salma’s tone had supplied very little warmth to support that picture. BB was happy to supply the rest.

The promise to put her down for a three-count hardly troubled her, either. There was an edge to it, certainly, but they were about to wrestle. A little competitive spirit was only natural. And beneath the challenge was something BB understood perfectly. Salma wanted her best. That, she could give.

“I feel the same way...! Let’s both give it our all, and may the better woman win!”

She answered with an enthusiastic nod. Something still seemed to sit uneasily behind Salma’s expression, but BB had no way of knowing what it was. She settled on the simplest explanation: the cowgirl was naturally a little gruff. Besides, that aloofness suited her. On someone so beautiful and self-assured, even a cool reception had a certain appeal. BB found herself admiring the very reserve that should perhaps have encouraged her to slow down. The referee approached, drawing her attention back to the business at hand. BB returned to her corner as instructed. She rolled her shoulders and planted her boots firmly against the canvas, feeling the surface beneath her feet. Her smile lingered. Her gaze grew steadier.

Wanting to be friends didn’t make her any less determined to win. Salma had asked for her best, and BB would consider it poor manners to offer anything less. The referee signaled. The bell rang, its sharp note cutting cleanly through the noise of the crowd. BB stepped out of her corner and strode toward the center of the ring. Her hands rose, her knees softened, and the restless energy that had kept her bouncing on her toes settled into a balanced stance.

She studied Salma with fresh attention: the reach of those arms, the strength in those legs, the distance she would have to cross before either could become a problem. Then she eased sideways, moving in a slow arc with her hands ready and her eyes on the cowgirl. For all her eagerness, she resisted the urge to rush straight in. This time, she would give Salma room to answer. She was ready to discover what her potential new friend could really do.
